Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 168: Marry Me and Be My Mrs. Prescott
Sienna had just come out of the operating room when a young nurse waved at her excitedly.
"Dr. Nash—oh, no, I mean Dr. Paxton, thank you for buying us milk tea."
Sienna glanced at the milk tea set on the table, frowned, and said, "Are you girls confused? I didn’t buy this." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
The young nurse grinned and handed her a cup: "Of course we know it wasn’t you. It was your super-hot, incredibly capable, and totally doting Brother Silas who bought it."
"Honestly, I feel like my fake-cest medical novels have come to life. Dr. Paxton, how far have things gone between you and President Prescott? Tell us, c’mon, all us single ladies are dying of curiosity."
"Isn’t it obvious? Just look at the hickey on Dr. Paxton’s neck! I bet things got wild last night. Dr. Paxton, can I come home with you tonight? I don’t even need a bedroom, just let me sleep under your bed."
"Ooh, me too, count me in! We promise, we’ll just listen, not make a peep."
They were laughing and gossiping when someone nudged Sienna’s arm: "Dr. Paxton, your brother’s here to pick you up! Ugh, why can’t I have a big brother who’s this hot and rich?"
Sienna was sipping her straw when she whipped around and saw Silas Prescott walking over in a white coat and black pants.
The man’s elegantly handsome face carried his usual gentle warmth.
There was laughter shimmering in those deep, fathomless eyes of his.
It was this very face, this breezy and bright image, that had first made fifteen-year-old Sienna’s heart flutter.
Silas walked to Sienna’s side, gently ruffled her hair, his voice smooth and easy on the ears.
"That milk tea must be tasty—see your brother and you don’t even greet me?"
Sienna blinked a few times: "Why are you here?"
"You had two surgeries today. I didn’t trust you to drive, so I came to get you."
Hearing this, the nurses all squealed at the same time.
"Wow, President Prescott is so sweet! Thank you for the milk tea!"
Silas nodded politely: "Next time I’ll buy everyone dinner. For now, I’m gonna take Sienna home."
"Long live President Prescott!"
"Dr. Paxton, eat more at dinner, okay? Or you won’t have enough strength to call your brother tonight!"
Sienna bonked the nurse on the head: "Doesn’t the milk tea plug up that mouth of yours?"
She quickly grabbed Silas and hurried off—otherwise, who knew what those kids would say next.
Silas was a little curious: "Just now, what did they mean by ’not enough strength to call brother’? I didn’t get it. Sienna, explain it to your brother."
Sienna knew he was doing it on purpose and shot him a glare: "If you don’t get it, it means you’re getting old. There’s a generation gap between us."
Before she even finished, Silas bent down and scooped her up in his arms.
He smiled meaningfully, lips curling: "Sienna, how about we go home and test whether your brother’s old or not?"
Sienna freaked out and started thumping his chest: "Silas Prescott, put me down—our colleagues are all staring!"
"What’s there to be afraid of? It’s not like we’re sneaking around. By now, the whole world knows that you’re Silas Prescott’s one true love."
"Brother, please, I’m begging you, okay?"
Silas wasn’t having any of it; instead, he smirked and said, "Save your begging for when we’re in bed."
He didn’t care about anyone watching and carried Sienna straight to the parking lot.
Sienna, realizing it was hopeless, could only bury her face in Silas’s chest.
The last thing she wanted was to become the hospital’s next headline.
No sooner had they gotten in the car than Sienna’s phone rang.
She glanced at the caller ID and immediately picked up.
Caden Sinclair’s voice came through the phone: "Sienna, are you alright? Did Silas Prescott bully you?"
Sienna was about to answer when she suddenly felt a wet sensation on her ear.
Silas’s tongue gently traced the outline of her ear, his hot breath spilling into her ear canal.
A shiver shot through Sienna, her voice dropping a notch.
"I’m fine, really. Don’t worry."
Caden: "I just can’t stop worrying about you by yourself. I’ve already handed in my resignation—I’m flying back tomorrow. We’ll be working at the same hospital again, so we can look out for each other."
The news made Sienna’s eyes go wide with excitement: "Really? That’s amazing! Finally, we’ll be fighting side by side again!"
"Help me extend the lease on the place across from yours."
"No problem. Send me your flight details later—I’ll pick you up at the airport."
Listening to their conversation, Silas couldn’t take it anymore.
He bit down on Sienna’s soft skin.
His teeth grazed her gently, making Sienna suck in a breath from the jolt of sensation.
Sienna was mid-chat, when that jolt struck her so hard she couldn’t help gasping.
"Ah."
Hearing the strange sound in her voice, Caden asked worriedly, "Sienna, what happened?"
Sienna tugged Silas’s head, feeling the waves he was sending through her.
Forcing down her emotions, she said, "It’s nothing—a dog tried to bite me. Gotta go, see you tomorrow."
She hung up and smacked Silas on the head in exasperation: "Silas Prescott, you did that on purpose, didn’t you?"
Silas finally let her go, his eyes burning with jealousy.
"Sienna, you’re not allowed to pick him up. You’re not allowed to work side by side with him. You’re mine—only allowed to be with me."
As he spoke, he pressed Sienna down on the seat, his hot lips trailing down her cheek.
His hands couldn’t help but slide up the curve of her waist.
His mind was full of the scene from five years ago, when Sienna had slipped away and left him all alone.
The memory still tore him apart every time he thought of it.
Back then, it felt like his whole world had gone dark in an instant.
He would never let that happen again.
Now that he’d finally found Sienna, he’d never let her leave his side again.
Silas’s kisses grew fiercer, leaving red ’strawberry marks’ all over Sienna’s fair skin.
Seeing Silas like this, Sienna felt like it was five years ago all over again.
She knew exactly what was about to happen next.
Sienna pounded Silas’s chest: "Silas Prescott, have you forgotten what you promised? You said you wouldn’t force me again."
Hearing that, Silas slowly stopped.
His gaze was bloodshot, breathing heavy: "But I can’t stand you being so close to him. Just thinking about those five years you spent with Caden Sinclair makes me insane with jealousy. You guys have shared life-and-death together. You spent five years in each other’s lives. And I wasn’t there for any of it. I don’t even know what happened between you two. Sienna, you’re mine. In your memories, there can only be me—nobody else."
Seeing Silas like this, Sienna immediately recognized that he was having another of his episodes.
Their five-year separation had only made his feelings for her more insecure.
Knowing his old habits, she knew he’d try anything to make her admit she loved him the most.
Only in this way could Silas feel the slightest bit of reassurance.
Sienna didn’t want their relationship to go back to what it was five years ago.
She called out softly, "Brother."
"What do I have to do to convince you that there’s only friendship between me and Caden Sinclair?"
At her words, a flicker of light shot through Silas’s dark eyes.
He stared at Sienna for a few seconds, then said, "Marry me. Be my Mrs. Prescott."
