Entangled with My Cousin's Fiancé-Chapter 408: Ella might find it hard to accept you as her dad
By the end, Lola Gold was clearly a bit out of it.
"Alright, let’s call it a night or we might actually miss things tomorrow." Yolanda Greenwood helped her onto the sofa, quietly tidied up, took a shower, and then carefully went back to the bedroom.
She climbed into bed quietly, afraid to wake the two little ones, but to her surprise, Little Gabriel was already awake.
"Did I wake you up, honey?" Yolanda quickly apologized, "I’m sorry, go back to sleep, okay?"
Little Gabriel blinked his big eyes and whispered in reply, "You didn’t wake me, Mom. I wasn’t asleep. I was waiting for you."
This was the first time he could finally sleep beside his mom. How could he bear to fall asleep first?
"Waiting for me?" Yolanda didn’t quite understand, "Why?"
"Can I sleep in your arms?" Little Gabriel asked with hopeful eyes.
At this moment, Little Gabriel and Little Ella were sleeping in the middle of the bed, while Yolanda habitually lay next to Ella. Hearing Gabriel’s request, she chuckled, "Of course you can."
She gently picked up Little Ella and placed her on one side, then lay between the two kids, "Is this okay?"
"Mm, thank you, Mommy." Little Gabriel was very happy and snuggled into his mom’s arms.
Mom’s embrace was so warm and fragrant. He felt comfortable immediately, closed his eyes, but forced himself not to fall asleep too quickly.
In the darkness, Yolanda smiled. Little Ella was already asleep, and she gently patted Little Gabriel’s small body, humming softly to lull him to sleep.
Little Gabriel tried hard to remind himself not to sleep too quickly, but it was just too comfortable, and he drifted off without realizing it.
Early the next morning, Yolanda woke up to find Lola Gold still asleep. She quickly dragged her up, "My bride, time to get up. We have to go to the venue."
"Huh?" Lola Gold sat up groggily and realized, "Oh right, I’m getting married today!"
She practically jumped off the sofa and dashed to the bathroom.
Yolanda shook her head with a smile, tidied up a bit, and waited for Lola.
Once both were ready, it was only a little past four in the morning. Little Ella and Little Gabriel were still sleeping soundly, so each of them carried one and headed out.
The wedding was scheduled on the top floor of a three-star hotel. Although not luxurious, it was the best place Caleb Sullivan and Lola Gold could afford.
When they arrived at the venue, the staff were all there and busy. Knowing Lola was the bride, they directed her to get makeup and prepare.
They placed the kids on a small bed in the bride’s dressing room to continue sleeping while Lola began doing her makeup and changing clothes. Yolanda, acting as part of the bride’s family, helped with preparations and greeting guests.
Cooper Coldson arrived around eight o’clock. As soon as he got out of the car, he sent a text to Yolanda, [Ella’s mom, I’ve arrived at the hotel entrance. Can you come out to meet me?]
[On my way!] Yolanda put away her phone and immediately went to the entrance to meet him.
Cooper wore a light gray casual suit, looking exceptionally striking. As soon as he appeared at the hotel entrance, he caught many people’s attention.
Caleb Sullivan was also at the entrance welcoming guests. Many asked if Cooper was a wedding guest. At first, Caleb wasn’t sure, but seeing Yolanda come out to greet him, he proudly boasted, "Yes, he is a friend of my wife’s, Cooper Coldson, don’t you know him? The president of the Coldson Group."
The Sullivan family and their guests were all taken aback. They didn’t know Cooper personally, nor was he someone within their social circle, but everyone in Gray City knew how big the Coldson Group was.
Suddenly, everyone crowded around Caleb, asking all sorts of questions about their friendship.
Caleb smiled smugly, "Well, let’s put it this way, today Cooper’s son, his only son, is our flower boy."
Everyone was stunned.
Yolanda led Cooper inside, given he was technically a guest from the bride’s side, and introduced him to Lola’s mother.
"Hello, Auntie, I’m a friend of Lola’s." Cooper took out a red envelope and placed it on the table, nodding at Ruby Ross.
"Hello, welcome, President Coldson, please come in." Ruby Ross felt proud.
After Cooper went inside, Ruby opened the envelope he had given, surprised to find a card with a password written on the back.
Caleb’s side of the family started whispering among themselves.
"I wonder how much was in that gift, to give a card directly?"
"As the president of Coldson Group, money’s the least of his concerns. It must be at least a hundred thousand."
"Caleb, you’ve married well. With such powerful friends, there’s nothing you can’t do!"
Everyone flattered him, and Caleb beamed with pride.
Unaware of all this, Yolanda took Cooper to see Lola and woke up the two kids to change clothes.
"Wow, President Coldson, you’re here early." Lola teased, "Your presence alone feels like it’s lifted the class of my entire wedding."
Cooper smiled, "Congratulations on your wedding!"
"Thank you." Lola was getting her makeup done but wouldn’t easily let Cooper go, teasingly asking, "By the way, President Coldson, how much did you gift? Too much and I can’t repay it in the future."
Cooper just smiled without responding.
Lola quietly felt that Cooper had really changed from before.
Yolanda took them to the small bed. The two kids were sleeping soundly, holding hands and looking adorable.
"I’ll wake them up," Yolanda was about to go forward but Cooper stopped her.
"There’s still time. Let them sleep a bit more," Cooper couldn’t bear to disturb the scene.
"Alright, but they can’t sleep too long. We have to wake them by nine." Yolanda thought for a moment, "You stay and watch over them. I’ll check the front. I’ll be back by nine, remember to wake them."
"Okay, whatever you say." Cooper smiled, looking determined to follow through with the task.
Yolanda blushed and quickly left.
Cooper stood by the bed for a while, then heard Lola’s voice not far away.
"Can’t get enough of looking at your own kids, can you?"
Cooper turned around and sat on the sofa, "True, no matter what, you can never get enough of your own children, never love them enough."
Lola glanced at him from the corner of her eye, "If you love kids so much, haven’t you thought about having more?"
"Two is enough, one boy and one girl, isn’t it perfect?"
Lola smirked, "But...Ella may have a hard time accepting you as her dad."
