Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode-Chapter 509: Stand Guard
Chapter 509: Stand Guard
Archangel Michael watched from a distance with his golden spear resting silently against his shoulder.
His gaze never left Asqa as she tore through the Celestials’ army with alarming ease showing how strong she is right now.
She was no longer just a former servant of Uriel or just simply Clyde’s friend. She had become a force of destruction just like Clyde himself.
"She’s stronger than we expected," he muttered under his breath, jaw clenched.
Even he who were considered one of Eden’s strongest, would hesitate before engaging her directly.
He scanned the others nearby. Uriel, Azrael, Gabriel, the Celestial, even the Demon Kings. Their eyes were all on her, their faces drawn tight with unease.
They could see it too that Asqa was dangerous and she could be buying time for something.
That’s what unsettled Michael and them the most. She came out alone so where was Clyde who is the true anomaly. The nightmare. The one who brought corruption of countless realms?
He had not shown himself must be for some reason.
Michael’s eyes drifted to the mansion floating in the center of the landmass. The place where the anomaly was definitely hidden.
A knot formed in his stomach. Clyde is still in there but what was he doing?
Michael had long made his decision. He would not aid Clyde anymore. If Clyde died in this battle then Michael would take his place as the Ancient One’s chosen, the one to lead the ancient true god into victory. Not Clyde.
But something was wrong. He could feel it.
The power of the Ancient One that had been granted to Michael was weakening as if being pulled.
There was only one being that could be siphoning that power now.
It was Clyde, and the Ancient One were helping him.
Whatever was happening inside that mansion wasn’t a retreat. It could be some kind of rebirth for Clyde that will make him even stronger than his state right now.
Michael’s face twisted in frustration.
"We have to attack that mansion!" he suddenly declared, loud enough for all nearby forces to hear.
Gasps and murmurs followed, and then one of the Archangel said.
"He’s right!" Azrael said with a fire in his voice. "The man is still inside! We must destroy him before he finishes!"
He raised his spear and gave orders to his legion.
At that moment, Morvius who were far across the battlefield also heard Michael’s call. He narrowed his eyes.
He didn’t dare to move yet. He had no intention of leading the charge. Let them test the waters first. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
But then a flash of light and loud bang sound was heard.
A colossal burst of energy exploded from Asqa’s position. A pillar of raw magic erupted skyward, shaking the entire Ruin.
A shockwave rippled through the air, and the armies staggered from its force.
Asqa let out wave of magic energy. It was blue and crackled with layered magical signatures.
And then Asqa’s body split into a hundred clones of her and they immediately scattered across the battlefield like green-and-white comets.
Each clone radiated her same power. They moving with intent and precision.
They didn’t hesitate. The moment they landed among the ranks, they attack with the same deadly force as before.
The soldiers who had begun their march toward the mansion were now screaming, falling, and dying.
A rain of death had begun again and it all came from one woman.
Now its become clearer that Asqa were trying to protect the mansion.
Michael grit his teeth as the Ruin quaked with the echoes of Asqa’s rampage. His grip on his golden spear tightened until the metal groaned beneath his fingers.
He could feel that something inside that mansion was happening. Every second that passed was another moment closer to Clyde’s rebirth.
And once that happen it would be too late to do anything.
"We move now!" he growled.
Lifting his spear, Michael poured his magic energy into it.
The weapon lit up with blinding golden radiance. Veins of sacred fire racing along its shaft.
His soldiers who sensing the signal raised their weapons and roared in unison. Their power flaring around them as they readied for the push.
Archangel Gabriel turned toward him.
"You look serious this time," he said, noting the lethal glint in Michael’s gaze. "You’re not holding back."
"We can’t waste time," Michael replied. "You feel it too, don’t you? Whatever’s happening inside that mansion is dangerous. Something strange is happening right now and will make our target become more hard to deal."
Gabriel nodded slowly. Somehow, Michael’s focused fury made him feel steadier and safer. The hesitation was gone now.
Uriel stepped forward as well, her white-gold armor bursting into roaring flame. Her sword ignited in her grip. She no longer had an army to command but her wrath was enough to push her.
"He dies today," she said coldly.
But before any of them could act a roaring voice could be heard.
"I will not let you pass!" Asqa’s voice tore through the air like thunder. It echoed with power, shaking the sky around the Higher Beings.
From where she floated above the battlefield her body now radiated with red, blue, and green light all at once showing a tricolor aura of pure destruction.
All of her clones across the battlefield flared like her. Their bodies pulsing with the same searing glow.
The air grew heavier. Her power surged in waves toward the Higher beings and they could feel them.
"I’ve already killed your kind," she declared, voice burning with defiance. "And I’ll do it again. Come at me if you want to die in pain!"
The effect was instant. The Celestials faltered. Their hands tensed over their weapons. Their expressions flickered with hesitation.
The Archangels exchanged uncertain glances. Uriel’s flames wavered slightly.
Even the Demon Kings, proud and cruel as they were, narrowed their eyes.
They were all hesitating.
Because this wasn’t some weak mortal. This was something else that had gotten strange power to kill them and her words were not empty threat.
She now stood between them and their target.
Michael gritted his teeth and cursed in his mind. But then he send his army to move first.
