Eternal Freedom's Ascension-Chapter 37: Business Time
After lunch break ended, Kaiser returned to the class alone. Although Ysabella threw a few puzzled glances his way during the remaining classes, he ignored them entirely. He had more important things to do than to entertain a sweet, twisted yandere.
Immediately school lessons ended, he headed straight to the dorms. Although he was curious seeing Hazel suddenly talk to Ariel, he didn’t concern himself with that.
After having a light shower, he immediately sat down before his laptop, checking through the live feed of the five classes.
He then checked his phone and noticed that Maya had already replied him.
Maya Grace: Good morning, Kaiser. How was your night? Here’s the number you requested...
’Haa... such a good girl. No unnecessary talks.’
He nodded in satisfaction, and immediately added Iruca’s contact. Then, he replied Maya.
Kaiser Solace: Evening. My night was peaceful, at least. Thanks for the contact.
He paused, contemplating on something, then sent another message.
Kaiser Solace: Are you free this Friday? If yes, then we can visit the library together.
As someone who believed in rewarding those who satisfied him, he wanted to give her a bit of his time. And knowing her genuine love for books, he decided to visit the library with her.
Putting that aside, he immediately opened Iruca’s chat log and sent a message to her. Through the cameras, he could tell that she was still in the class, chatting with her friends.
Sherlock Holmes: Hello there, Class-B. I can see that you’re having an interesting conversation over there.
He plugged in an earpiece to the laptop, then patiently waited for her reply.
...
[Class 1-B]
After the classes for the day ended, the students in the class went for their various businesses. Still, a few girls lingered in class, exchanging light talks.
"Hey, Rita. I just got this new lingerie from the mall yesterday. Honestly, it’s so sexy I feel ashamed to wear it."
A girl with fawn-colored hair said with a bashful expression. Her friend, Rita, was surprised.
"What? Joanna, you betrayed me! I thought we promised to buy it together."
Although she sounded hurt, she wasn’t displeased.
"Sorry, my boyfriend asked me to get it." Joanna chuckled, patting Rita’s head playfully.
"Muu, don’t talk to me." Rita pouted in mock displeasure, then turned to the silver-haired girl beside them.
"Iruca, you’ll be the one to follow me and get the lingerie, okay?"
The girl, Iruca, was surprised. Her violet eyes blinked twice, and she blushed.
"B-but... lingeries... don’t you think it’s a bit improper?"
Rita shook her head vehemently. "No! Lingeries are the absolute cheat! If you wear it, your boyfriend will definitely like like it."
Iruca sighed. "I already told you. I don’t have a boyfriend."
Rita and Joanna didn’t believe her. The fawn-haired girl grinned. "C’mon, Iruca. Loosen up a bit. Everyone can tell that Mitchell likes you."
Iruca pursed her lips, but remained silent. She knew that her friends wouldn’t even believe whatever she said. Suddenly, her phone vibrated in her pocket, prompting her to check. It was a message from a new contact.
Sherlock Holmes: Hello there, Class-B. I can see that you’re having an interesting conversation over there.
Instantly, her eyes widened, and she looked around. Except for a few classmates who were packing their bags, there was no one.
’What does this mean? Someone is at the door?’
She wanted to go and check, but couldn’t. Her friends might think it was Mitchell who had contacted her, and she was going to see him. Biting her lips, she replied.
Iruca Sanders: Um, hi. How can I help you? And your words are a bit strange.
She suspected that this was just one of her classmates playing a prank on her. The reply came a few seconds later.
Sherlock Holmes: Is it really strange? You were talking about lingeries and boyfriends, after all.
Seeing that her two friends were still chatting idly, she quickly replied.
Iruca Sanders: Is this someone from Class-B? You really got me if this is a prank.
Patiently, she waited for the reply, which arrived shortly.
Sherlock Holmes: Hahaha! Your guess is a bit wild. No. I’m not from your class, and I’m not here to talk about lingeries. Instead, I’m here to talk business with you.
Her fingers paused, feeling a weird sensation creep on her. What did that mean? Someone was spying on them?
’Could it be abilities?’
She doubted it since the limiters ensured that no one could use their abilities. Giving the classroom another glance, she typed back.
Iruca Sanders: What business?
As if it had already been prepared, her answer came instantaneously.
Sherlock Holmes: Class Rank Points. You’re aware that your moral conduct in class greatly affects this, right?
Iruca’s breathing quickened, and she involuntarily tightened her grip on the phone. Indeed, her Class Instructor, Instructor Natalie, had informed her about Class Rank Points and their importance. Therefore, she was interested in this conversation.
Iruca Sanders: Yes, I’m aware. Is there anything you’d like to share?
"Hey, Iruca. What’s wrong? You’ve been on your phone for a while."
Joanna’s voice startled her, but she smiled.
"Sorry, I’m just chatting with someone."
Rita smiled suspiciously. "Oh? Looks like our Iruca is a bit busy... with someone."
Joanna laughed. "Don’t worry, we won’t disturb you. Just make it quick."
Iruca smiled but said nothing. Returning her attention to the phone, she immediately saw a reply.
Sherlock Holmes: Indeed, I have an offer for you. I would have let you realize it yourself, but it seems your friends are a bit impatient.
Her heart tightened, and she looked around again. How exactly did this person know what her friends were talking about.
Iruca Sanders: I’m sorry, but isn’t spying on us a bit rude...?
A reply came as quick as possible.
Sherlock Holmes: You shouldn’t concern yourself with whether it’s rude or not. Why don’t you raise your head and wave at the cameras?
Reading the message, Iruca’s eyes widened, and her head snapped up to look at the cameras. Instantly, her phone chimed.
Sherlock Holmes: Good girl. Your stunned expression is a bit cute, though.
’Cameras? I thought the cameras were owned by the school?’
Her confusion spiralled and she immediately replied.
Iruca Sanders: You’re seeing us through the school cameras? How?
Her friends glanced at her, noticing her fidgety demeanor, but she ignored them, waiting for a reply.
Sherlock Holmes: Don’t ask me how. However, here’s the deal. I’m willing to sell the management of the cameras to you, on a period of three weeks, for 1.2 million credits
As soon as she saw the message, Iruca froze in shock.
