Eternal Life Starts from Tai Chi-Chapter 47: Void Spirit Pill
’Regular meals give me 0.2 Potential Points, Qi Nourishing Soup gives 0.2, Strengthening and Nourishing Porridge gives 0.1, the Dragon Bone Medicine Bath gives 0.3, the Bear Gallbladder Skin-Toughening Ointment gives 0.15, and the Jade Essence Skin Refining Powder gives another 0.15. By combining these six methods, I’m gaining 1.1 Potential Points every day—a stable rate starting with a one.’
’Unfortunately, I’ve finished all the Lantian Jade Refining Pills; otherwise, I could add another 0.3. Now that I’m a Pharmacist, I don’t have to spend any silver coins on these remedies, and I can use larger doses. Still, the most I could get is 1.3, and that’s only once every few days.’
Yang Chan was in his newly assigned Pharmacist’s quarters, which were much larger than his old room as a Pharmacist’s Assistant. He even had two young, beautiful maids to attend to him. Life was considerably more pleasant than before.
He was currently strategizing how to acquire more Potential Points. There was a daily limit to the points he could gain from any single type of medicine, but this restriction didn’t apply to different types. Thus, Yang Chan was considering new medicinal concoctions to supplement his regimen.
Among the remedies Yang Chan used daily, the Bear Gallbladder Skin-Toughening Ointment and the Jade Essence Skin Refining Powder had room for improvement. Under normal circumstances, they should yield 0.2 Potential Points, but they were currently only giving him 0.15. This was because his skill in preparing them was still lacking. If an Intermediate Pharmacist had prepared the medicines, they would provide a stable 0.2 without any fluctuation. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Yang Chan would only be able to prepare them properly once his Pharmacist Ability improved.
As for the Lantian Jade Refining Pill, which could grant 0.3 Potential Points, Yang Chan wanted to create it himself. However, he currently lacked the skill. Furthermore, the ingredients weren’t cheap. He could only use his status as a Pharmacist to slowly gather the necessary materials before attempting to refine the pill.
In Taiyu City, while Pharmacists had access to some medicinal ingredients, the supply wasn’t unlimited. For this reason, Yang Chan was collecting them little by little, in no rush to acquire a large quantity of materials for his concoctions.
Instead, Yang Chan planned to concoct a new remedy: the Void Spirit Pill. It was a pill designed to nurture Essence Qi. It was highly beneficial for nourishing one’s Power and for the External Refining of Flesh and Skin, as it could replenish a person’s Essence Qi and extend their training sessions.
After careful consideration, he had chosen this particular remedy as it was well-suited for him. Refining the Void Spirit Pill didn’t require advanced alchemy skills. As long as one prepared the ingredients correctly, paid attention to the moisture levels during the process, and controlled the heat properly, the chances of success were high.
The skill required to refine the Void Spirit Pill wasn’t particularly high; Yang Chan’s current abilities were sufficient. He could obtain some of the ingredients through his status as a Pharmacist, and after purchasing the rest, he would be ready to begin the refining process.
This would not only aid his Cultivation and increase his Potential Point gains, but also improve his Pharmacist Ability—killing three birds with one stone.
Yang Chan had other recipes, but the reward from the Cyan Yuan Sect for becoming a Pharmacist hadn’t arrived yet. With limited silver coins on hand, he could only choose to make the Void Spirit Pill, as it offered him the most significant benefits.
’In another two days, I should have all the ingredients for the Void Spirit Pill. Then I can start the refining process.’
’Even though I have the process memorized, I could still make mistakes when I try it myself. Before the main attempt, I’ll do a test run with a small batch of the ingredients, and only then will I proceed with the final refining.’
Yang Chan thought to himself.
It was one thing to see something, another to remember it, and something else entirely to actually do it. For now, Yang Chan didn’t plan on spending any more Potential Points on his Pharmacist abilities. Instead, he intended to keep raising his Martial Arts Cultivation and reach the third stage of External Refining Copper Skin—the Ancient Bronze Level—as quickly as possible.
There was something about Zhao Qiyang that made Yang Chan feel he was dangerous. Only by continuing to advance his Martial Arts Cultivation could he feel more secure.
He had been secretly keeping an eye on Zhao Qiyang recently, but unfortunately, the man seemed perfectly normal. He couldn’t figure out why he was being targeted.
Yang Chan had his suspicions, but nothing was confirmed. If it were, he wouldn’t even need to make a move himself.
He had always kept a low profile within the Cyan Yuan Sect and treated others with kindness. Anyone who wanted to target him must have a hidden agenda.
’My Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist has progressed to the second stage of External Refining Copper Skin. The Brass color of my skin is getting deeper. At this rate, with another three days of hard work, I’ll definitely be able to advance to the third stage: the Ancient Bronze Level.’
Yang Chan glanced at the proficiency rating on his panel. He had raised it to 53% of Tier Two Entry. By his estimation, once it reached sixty-six percent, his body would undergo another transformation, achieving a state truly impervious to ordinary blades and spears.
Although this invulnerability only applied to common weapons, tempering one’s body to such a degree was still an incredible feat. Furthermore, each transformation brought comprehensive enhancements to his entire body—his strength, speed, and reaction time all saw distinct improvements.
’Hard work always pays off. I’m not as busy as I was before, so I’ll spend more time on the Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist. I don’t care what kind of monsters or schemes are out there; as long as I’m strong enough, I can crush them all.’
Yang Chan considered himself a kind, gentle, and refined person—unless, of course, someone was trying to harm him.
With that thought, Yang Chan walked into the courtyard. Just as he was about to begin practicing the Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist, he heard a disturbance nearby. He immediately stopped and listened carefully to confirm the sound.
The disturbance was coming from Zhao Qiyang’s house nearby. The Pharmacists’ residences were all situated close to one another, and Yang Chan made it a daily habit to occasionally check on Zhao Qiyang’s house, as well as the other Pharmacists.
After confirming the sound, Yang Chan first went back inside his room. He grabbed the gear he had prepared before coming down the mountain, along with some lime powder—a local specialty of Taiyu City that was excavated alongside the Dragon Bone. He had seen it and naturally hadn’t passed up the opportunity to acquire some.
With his gear in hand, Yang Chan crept over and crouched quietly outside Zhao Qiyang’s courtyard, taking care not to enter.
Thanks to his Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill, his five senses were far sharper than an ordinary person’s; he could detect even the slightest disturbance.
If the noise had come from any other Pharmacist’s residence, Yang Chan would have simply ignored it. But since he sensed something was off about Zhao Qiyang, he decided to hide and eavesdrop.
His current position was unique. He was just outside Zhao Qiyang’s house, but if he took a single step back, he would be in another Pharmacist’s yard. This was the escape route Yang Chan had prepared for himself.
Even if he were discovered, he could make a quick escape and simultaneously shift the suspicion onto the other Pharmacist, allowing him to deny any involvement.
"Didn’t I tell you not to come looking for me right now? Ever since that incident at the Pharmacy, someone in the Cyan Yuan Sect has been watching my every move. A visit like this could easily expose me!"
Zhao Qiyang hissed in a low, furious voice. He was forcefully suppressing his anger; otherwise, his voice would have been loud enough for everyone nearby to hear.
To be safe, he had done nothing out of the ordinary lately and had kept an extremely low profile. Aside from being unable to suppress a surge of killing intent whenever he saw Yang Chan, he had behaved perfectly normally.
Zhao Qiyang had been hiding within the Cyan Yuan Sect for many years; he was capable of suppressing the killing intent in his heart and biding his time. That was his plan, at least. But clearly, someone else had other ideas, showing up at his door at a time like this. The visit left Zhao Qiyang both alarmed and furious.
As a mole, if he were to be discovered by the Cyan Yuan Sect, his fate was easy to imagine. He would undoubtedly suffer a gruesome death.
