Ethereal World: Vicious Cannon Fodder's Immortality Road-Chapter 931: Endless Wonders of Adventures
By this time, Feng Huang and Zhizhi, who were exploring the Eastern Reign of the Ember Dune Desert, had already gathered an abundance of resources. Meanwhile, Xiao Mei, Xiao Nian, and Huan Huan, who had ventured into the Western Reign, also stumbled upon countless treasures. Thanks to the assistance of the Spirit Bees, they located safer areas to explore and train, avoiding unnecessary dangers.
On the other side, Hong Zuan led half of the Red Snake Army to the Northern Reign, while Tian Tian, accompanied by Lu Long, guided the remaining half of the Thunder White Wolves to the Southern Reign. Both groups reaped bountiful rewards, collecting rare and valuable treasures along the way.
As for the 250 Red Snakes and 250 Thunder White Wolves that had remained in the Ethereal Small World, later dispatched to investigate the mysterious blood markings and patterns (Chapter 923), they were now gathering further clues while continuing their training.
Meanwhile, in an unexpected turn of events, Shenlian Sheshan and Wang Pei Zhi found themselves transported to the God-Slaying Battlefield, much like Jun Mu Yang and Xiao Qiu. However, the battlefield was so vast that none of them crossed paths.
Under Shenlian Sheshan’s stern gaze, Wang Pei Zhi forced his battered body forward, swallowing his fear as he engaged in brutal combat with the remnant souls of ancient monsters. Occasionally, Shenlian Sheshan would also train himself rigorously, all while pointing out Wang Pei Zhi’s flaws in battle.
He refused to allow anyone standing beside his maternal niece to remain weak and helpless. The enemies they would soon face were no ordinary beings, they were forces beyond imagination.
And it wasn’t just the four of them who had entered the God-Slaying Battlefield. Soon, immortal beings from various races, such as the Elves and the Dragons, along with disciples from the Eclipse Devouring Sect and other immortal sects, would also arrive.
Before long, clashes would erupt, whether over treasures, personal grudges, or other hidden motives. Their adventures and fates were fraught with unforeseeable dangers. How many would survive? And how many would perish, their lives forever buried in this ancient battlefield?
[Forgotten Domain, Northern Region, Barren Desert]
Shenlian Yingyue and her group’s journey to the Storm Roc Clan had been incredibly fruitful. The Ethereal Small World was now overflowing with unimaginable treasures, so much so that dozens of warehouses had been constructed just to store the mountainous piles of riches.
At the moment, she remained unaware of the chaos that had befallen the Sand Golem Race.
"Master, would you like to rest for a while?" Bing Xue asked, his angelic features slightly flushed from the desert heat. As an ice bird, he was unaccustomed to such scorching temperatures, even though his immortal body should have rendered him immune to ordinary weather.
"No, A’Xue, I’m not tired," Shenlian Yingyue replied with a gentle smile. Her attention remained fixed on Xie Xie, ensuring he showed no signs of discomfort.
"A’Xue, since the heat is bothering you, why don’t you return to the Ethereal Small World for now?" she suggested, unable to bear seeing him so weary.
"No, I want to stay with you, Master." Bing Xue insisted, pulling her into an embrace.
Shenlian Yingyue, suddenly hugged without warning: "....."
’Can’t he walk normally? Why does he have to cling to me like this?’
Bing Xue ignored her thought, still clung to her shamelessly like an octopus.
"Shameless!" Xiao Li roared, his face twisting in outrage. He immediately rushed over, wrapping his arms around her as well, and began rubbing his face against hers like a spoiled child. "Master! Ever since Bing Xue slept with you, he’s become as sticky as honey! It’s unbearable! He’s taking advantage of you!"
Shenlian Yingyue’s lips twitched in exasperation. If anyone else had hugged her so boldly, she might have suspected ulterior motives. But Bing Xue was now her husband, how could she scold him? The last time she had tried to evade his embrace, his eyes had welled up with tears, his heart shattered by the thought that she found him repulsive. After that, she had no choice but to accept his affection, lest she hurt his feelings again.
Still, she couldn’t shake the feeling of icy stares boring into her back, especially from Zhiyi and others. Even Xiao Lan’s gaze carried a strange intensity, as though he were constantly restraining himself from beating Bing Xue senseless.
’Did I imagine that?’ she thought.
Everyone who heard her thought pretended not to hear it.
"Bing Xue, let Master move normally. Stop disturbing her." Zhiyi’s tone was gentle, but his actions spoke otherwise. He stepped closer, peeling away Bing Xue’s arms, which clung to her like an octopus’s tentacles. Though his grip appeared light, there was an undeniable strength behind it, enough to leave Bing Xue’s hands reddened.
"Tch." Bing Xue ignored the sting, his focus solely on her expression. Seeing no reaction from his wife, though she did seem slightly stiff, he reluctantly released her, though not without regret. Every fiber of his being screamed to devour her whole, to tuck her away where no one else could reach her. He clenched his fists, forcing down the twisted possessiveness that threatened to surface.
Shenlian Yingyue cast a grateful gaze at Zhiyi. She didn’t notice Zhiyi’s strength when he peeled away Bing Xue’s arms using ’gentle force’.
Zhiyi smiled at her softly, his eyes full of tenderness.
"We’re almost at Sand Town," Xiong Zi Ying announced, deliberately ignoring the silent battle of jealousy unfolding around him. Over the years, he’d grown accustomed to the subtle (and not-so-subtle) clashes between his disciple’s companions, all vying for her attention. He shook his head in quiet amusement.
"Master, I smell treasure there!" Xiao Yun’s rainbow-like eyes gleamed with excitement. His tiny paws wrapped around her neck, and he nuzzled his face against her cheek like an overeager kitten.
"You really do love treasures, don’t you?" Shenlian Yingyue laughed, stroking Xiao Yun’s fur before giving Xiao Li and Xiao Lan the same affectionate treatment. The three of them practically melted under her touch, eyes closing in contentment.
Meanwhile, Shenlian Yinzhu stood silently, his gaze fixed ahead, unreadable. Without warning, he yanked her into his arms, his larger frame enveloping her slender body. The sudden movement effectively cut off any proximity she had to Zhiyi, Bing Xue, or Xie Xie.
Zhiyi, Bing Xue, and Xie Xie: "..."
Xiao Yun, Xiao Li, and Xiao Lan, caught off-balance: "..."
Thankfully, they managed to avoid face-planting into the dirt, though they shot the perpetrator a collective glare.
"Brother, what’s wrong?" Shenlian Yingyue tensed, scanning their surroundings for danger. Seeing nothing amiss, she frowned. "There’s no threat here, why did you pull me?"
"Yue’er, there’s danger," Shenlian Yinzhu declared solemnly, pointing straight ahead.
Everyone followed his gaze, only to freeze in disbelief.
Shenlian Yingyue: "..."
The group: "..."
The so-called "danger" was a single, palm-sized sand lizard staring blankly at them, its round eyes blinking in what could only be described as utter stupidity.
"I thought it was a monster," Shenlian Yinzhu said innocently, though his arm remained firmly locked around her waist. "But since it’s just a harmless lizard, we can ignore it."
The group: "..."
"Brother, maybe you could... let go of me first?" Shenlian Yingyue suggested, fighting the urge to laugh.
"Yue’er, my hand is stuck. It won’t move from your waist," Shenlian Yinzhu replied with exaggerated helplessness.
Shenlian Yingyue: "..."
The group: "..."
With that absurd exchange, the group finally arrived at Sand Town.
