Chapter 52 -47 Qi Xingzhou, Getting Off?

The idea of eating lunch was too early for the moment, with still several hours to go, so Jiang Ning politely declined for the time being.

She had agreed to accompany Qi Chen because she had heard him mention that he was donating equipment to Pinghu School.

Lou Yuquan was a graduate student at Pinghu University, and even though Qi Chen was just a donor to the university, there was still a slight connection to Pinghu University.

Jiang Ning didn’t know how to find Lou Yuquan yet, so going to see the young master didn’t seem like a bad idea.

Jiang Ning followed Qi Chen all the way to the car park.

The car park at Pinghu University was open-air and particularly spacious. The driver had originally gotten out to smoke a cigarette off to the side, but upon seeing Qi Chen’s figure, he immediately wanted to approach.

Qi Chen raised his hand for him to stand back and then personally reached out to open the car door.

Qi Xingzhou, who was sitting in the car, wasn’t playing with his phone. He sat in the back seat, maintaining the same posture he had before Qi Chen had left, staring blankly at a spot, quiet and speechless, until the car door was pulled open again. Only then did he lift his gaze to look outside.

Qi Chen stood outside the car, and his usually austere face only revealed a hint of a gentle smile when facing his own family. Even the sound of his voice became slightly different, carrying a tinge of patience and indulgence, “Xingzhou, get out of the car. Look who’s come to see you.”

He stepped aside, fully revealing the Jiang Ning who had been standing behind him.

Qi Xingzhou’s face was expressionless, showing no interest in anything.

It wasn’t until he saw Jiang Ning that he paused, his originally lifeless dark eyes suddenly infused with vitality, lighting up brightly.

He blinked blankly, as if to confirm whether the Jiang Ning before him was real, reminiscent of an innocent and pure animal in the animal kingdom.

For some reason, Jiang Ning found that her mood always improved considerably whenever she saw the young master.

She smiled at him, her expression playful, “Young master, getting out of the car?”

Qi Xingzhou, who had been coaxed by Qi Chen the whole way but refused to get out of the car, immediately got out in a hurry after hearing Jiang Ning’s words.

He blinked and stood obediently by Jiang Ning’s side, focusing intently on her. His beautiful amber eyes held only the figure of Jiang Ning, completely ignoring Qi Chen by his side.

“Where are we going next?” Jiang Ning turned her head to ask Qi Chen.

Qi Xingzhou seemed to then notice that his own brother was still standing beside them. Seeing Jiang Ning talking to Qi Chen and not paying attention to himself, he pouted in a slight show of grievance.

“Anywhere is fine. Have you just finished touring the campus? Is there anywhere else you’d like to see?” As soon as Qi Chen finished speaking, his phone rang in his pocket.

“Excuse me, I need to take a call,” he said apologetically to Jiang Ning and then took out his phone to answer. Jiang Ning and Qi Xingzhou both stood quietly on the side.

Qi Chen took the call without stepping away from Jiang Ning and Qi Xingzhou. Although his phone wasn’t on speaker, Jiang Ning could roughly understand from Qi Chen’s responses that it seemed to be a work-related issue.

“Alright, I’ll be back soon,” Qi Chen said to the person on the other end of the call, then hung up.

Qi Chen looked somewhat conflicted towards Jiang Ning, and from the snippets she had overheard, she knew that Qi Chen might have encountered some urgent work matter. She took the initiative, “Mr. Qi, if you have something to take care of, go ahead. Work is important.”

Qi Chen nodded, “I’m sorry, I’ll treat you to a meal some other day.”

With that, he turned to Qi Xingzhou, “Xingzhou, get in the car. We need to go back.”

Qi Xingzhou stood by Jiang Ning’s side, acting as if he was deaf to his own brother’s words, not even moving an inch.

Qi Chen felt a bit helpless.

Now he had a problem. He had spent half the morning coaxing Qi Xingzhou to get out of the car, and now that he had been out for barely two minutes, he was faced with the headache of how to cajole him back into the vehicle.
