Evolving Infinitely From An E-Class Hero-Chapter 108: Welcome To Skull Island
I had to take care of my Mom, she’s probably scared to death.
At the same time, I have to find out where this Calamity Creature was retreating to.
Although something tells me The Apostle has his hands filled with that task.
But still, I had to find out by myself where this rabbit hole ends.
I turned and deactivated the Forever Armor, at the same time I sent two Tactical Swarm Drones after the Calamity Creature who seemed to dwindle in size as it walked away.
"Mom!"
The apartment building was gone, my home was gone.
I didn’t see it as an issue though, because of my well to do financial state and status. But, the memories I had compiled as a result of living there would always come back to cause me to miss the place.
[Ongoing Call: The Apostle...]
"Where do you think the Calamity Creature is headed? Apostle..."
["I Have no idea, we’re about to find out are we not... Regardless, I have summoned a barrage of heroes from S-Class all the way down to D-Class in response to the location reveal... I take it that we might be met with the greatest number of Calamity Creatures at the site"]
"Wow! That’s great..."
["Great? Will you not be joining us on the raid? We’re broadcasting it live to the whole world that we are close to crippling the Calamity Creatures Chapter"]
"You said you have S-Class heroes with you... Plural... So I think you have more than what you need to see out this mission... My Mom needs me, she just went through the worst nightmare of her life."
["I see, refusal to cooperate with the ISA as an unsigned hero to any guild would result to Rank points deduction"]
"Pfft! Like I care, besides I’m SSS-Class Rank 1... Where would I reduce to... Rank 2? I’m the only one in the roster... "
"I have to go with my Mom and take care of her... I wish you good luck and Godspeed..."
Kpim.
I cut the call before The Apostle could continue talking.
In a matter of minutes, I was already on my way to the safety shelter where the civilians that were affected by the Calamity Creatures disaster held refuge.
I went on to comfort my mom and provide her with everything that she needed to stay safe and calm.
From time to time, I’d check the video feed from the Tactical Swarm Drones I sent to the raid gathering of the heroes.
They had gathered in numbers, boarding a huge helicopter, as the spinning rotors issued defeaning noises above their heads.
Heroes of several guilds, high classed and lower classed. From S-Class all the way down to D-Class. The Apostle wasn’t joking at all.
I saw, The Golden Guardian, Shadow Girl, Lady Phoenix, War Man and to my surprise Tempest Wolf! The wolf pet user was alive and geared up to take revenge of the Calamity Creatures.
Their were several camera men checking their recording equipments for the last time before the climbed their various helicopters.
And most importantly, they had followed the track of the Calamity Creature and it lead them to probably the most dangerous place in the whole world.
This place was known as Skull Island.
It was evident because the Komodo dragon like Calamity Creature kept a straight trajectory towards the island known for its saturation of monsters and creatures beyond the wilded imagination.
Amongst the lower ranked heroes, from C-Class downwards: no matter how hard they tried to stay calm, there was nothing they could do about the nervous tension slowly engolfing their hearts.
Lots of heroes were ready for this journey, including Boomerang Man and other elite B-Class heroes.
All of them working and in hand to solve this issue, there was no need for my input, plus my Mom needs me more at this moment. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
I was going to seat this one out and watch with my Tactical Swarm Drones see things for myself.
Soon after, the helicopters carrying the heroes flew up, following the same path the Calamity Creature drew for them, there were tens and tens of chopper running along the sky above the sea level in pursuit of this great task.
In a short amount of time, the choppers reached the site and the operation began unfolding smoothly, with The Apostle calling the shots from his control panel at the head helicopter terminal.
I specifically watched the Tactical Swarm Drone Feed of the drone that followed heroes that I was familiar with. Like Golden Guardian, Shadow Girl, Thunderlash, Metal Fist etc.
I followed a couple of heroes and a camera man as the strode into a cave in search of answers to their questions as to the origin of these Calamity Creatures.
Everything seemed nice and calm, that was until a herd of Calamity Creatures surged forward in attack, overwhelming the heroes in their numbers.
The creatures looked like a variety of animals native to earth, but they were several times bigger, stronger and more vicious.
All over the island where my drone were stationed, battles raged on and light, energy beams and powerful rays burst into the air as heroes defended themselves from the attacks of the Calamity Creatures.
They were everywhere, every type... Flying, crawling, swimming, and gliding. It was extremely clear that this island was the original place of the Calamity Creatures.
I watched closely through the lens of the Tactical Swarm Drone, keeping my eyes on the squad that had entered the darkened cave. Their flashlights pierced through the black, flickering against moist stone walls and ancient mineral formations that looked more alive than dead. The deeper they went, the tighter the tension in the air became.
The cave twisted and turned, then suddenly expanded into a massive, dome-shaped chamber.
My brows furrowed as the drone’s feed adjusted focus. The walls weren’t natural anymore—they were lined with metallic plates, flickering panels, and exposed wiring. At the center stood towering glass tubes filled with a familiar purple-ish fluid, each one containing something... grotesque.
Test subjects.
Human beings—or at least, they once were. Their bodies were misshapen, elongated, bent at unnatural angles. Some had extra limbs. Others had bones protruding through their skin. It was like looking at failed experiments caught mid-transformation.
The heroes spread out cautiously, their faces masked with horror. I could hear one of them whisper through the drone mic, "What... the hell is this place?"
I swallowed hard. "This... this might be it," I muttered to myself. "The production lab... where the Calamity Creatures are made."
Suddenly, the ground rumbled slightly.
All eyes turned to the largest tube in the center of the room. It was bigger than the rest—maybe twenty feet tall, laced with thick cables and connected to a steel platform that pulsed with red light.
Steam hissed from its seams, flooding the area in a white fog.
The room fell into dead silence.
Then—a figure stepped out.
Humanoid.
Tall. Composed. Its presence halted everyone in their tracks.
The steam cleared gradually... revealing something no one expected.
It was a man—or at least, it looked like one. His skin was smooth like polished pale blue marble, his eyes glowing with a faint azure light. He wore a dark bodysuit laced with circuitry that shimmered subtly, and silver hair flowed down to his back like a crown of threads.
He was beautiful. Unnaturally beautiful.
Even the heroes gasped, stepping back instinctively.
One of them muttered, "Is he... one of us?"
But I knew better.
No human carried that kind of aura. That kind of silence that screamed dominance.
He opened his eyes slowly—and for a split second, the entire drone feed distorted, static flooding the screen as if even the tech couldn’t handle looking at him directly.
And then he spoke.
But his lips didn’t move.
"Welcome..."
It was a human, a human Calamity Creature!
So, Calamity Creatures are made from using the DNA of animals native to earth and all that.
But this time around, this Calamity Creature uses DNA if a human to reform himself.
Having the physical appearance of a Calamity Creature but the mind of a human which explains its ability to speak!.
I watched on, listenined on... This was getting interesting.
"Welcome to skull Island... Heroes..."
The heroes were startled at the man’s appearance.
"A Calamity Creature that looks like a human!?"
"Ready yourselves, heroes!"
"Don’t be afraid... It’s just a human Calamity Creature—it won’t do any damage..."
The creature scoffed and then laughed loudly, a bone-chilling sound that echoed through the metallic chamber before he began calling their names, one by one.
"Golden Guardian..."
"Tank..."
"Shadow Girl..."
"Fire Brand..."
"Tempest Wolf... And the rest of you... You all will die today. All the heroes who made it to this island will die by my hand..."
Without hesitation, Golden Guardian shot a ray of golden energy from his eyes, but it slammed into an invisible shield, shattering the beam and leaving the creature u
ntouched.
"I am Dr. Kuseno," the creature said with a terrifying voice, his tone resonating like thunder through the chamber. "Father of the Calamity Creatures!"
