"Yes..."
"I’m growing stronger, really I am!"
I said with glee as I stood over the corpse of Sherman, red blood had already started forming a pool around him.
"New Skill; machine gun blow really came in handy to killing this bastard..."
I glanced at his face.
"Ohhh!"
He was still alive, although his face was shattered beyond recognition.
His eyes were popped and his nose caved inwards, he winced and groaned as the little life left in him drained steadily.
He looked pathetic, "You can’t just go around trying to claim people’s planet all in the name of them not taking care of it..."
*Wince, grunt, wheeeze.
"I will end your suffering, go on... Meet up with your kind... Wherever they are... "
Whooooosh!
"Incinerate..."
A sickening squelch followed after I took it his head with a blast from my gauntlet.
It was done, Sherman and the threat that is the High Orcs civilization were neutralized.
The Ghost Town Strike Team had completed their mission.
I stepped off Sherman’s headless, dead frame. But then, several people approached me.
The heroes from the Ghost Town Strike Team, Shadow Girl and to my surprise a group of men wearing matching black business suits.
One of the men in black suits stood out to me, he had a long scar across his face and his neck. Unlike the rest of the men in black, he wore sunglasses that concealed his eyes.
"ISA?..."
The expression they had on their faces was profound, they had al witnessed my power — first hand.
"E-Class!"
"Reno Renly!"
"E-Class!! Are you hurt!???"
Everyone called out to me at the same time. Well, I would say I was entirely fine — I got to fight my heart out since I had no reason to hide my powers in front of them and also getting stronger in the process.
"I’m fine everyone!" I said as they all approached around me.
"Tsk! You don’t look fine..." Shadow Girl muttered, giving me a disappointed look.
I turned, "What?"
"You have scars on your face... Looks like that helmet was worth something other than hiding your identity after all..." She said.
"Ahh... I don’t think the helmet will be making any return soon... Right?" I said taking a glance shot at the ISA men in black.
The man wearing dark glasses nodded firmly without saying a word.
"That’s it..."
"Don’t worry, I have something..."
"Skill: Regenerate", I ordered.
The wounds on my face sealed effortlessly in the blink of an eye.
Everyone watching gasped in shock as they watched my skin go back to good as new.
The man in shades was the first to react, he walked right up to my side, pulled out his identification card and displayed it proudly for me to see.
"We’re from the ISA headquarters Tower A, Sector A... You can call me The Apostle..."
For some reason, the rest of the Ghost Town Strike Team tensed up after hearing his name.
The Apostle—
"Tch!"
Shadow Girl hissed.
"You didn’t have to come out of the squad car, I had it under control..." She said with a distorted, angry look on her face.
The Apostle turned swiftly to face Shadow Girl almost instantly.
"And no one is taking that away from you... Shadow Girl... Your mission is complete, you prevented the demise of the Ghost Town Strike Team and you will be rewarded with your rank points..."
The Apostle responded and turned back towards the rest of the strike team members.
"Tch! Whatever... I just wanted to see this so called Bionic person..." She scoffed and took a couple steps backwards while folding her arms across her cleavage.
"Every one, I am The Apostle. I’m sure you all have heard about me... I have something to say... "
"Ahem, Reno Renly would you be so kind to release your armor... "
What?.
Did he just give me an order? I don’t know when the hell that started, but that was in no way going to fly with me.
"Tch! So you think you can walk in here and other me around?" I asked with a friendly smirk.
"From what I can see here, you’re just the right hand man to President Viola Travis the ISA president... Doesn’t give you the right to give me an order... "
I took a step towards the exit when The Apostle grabbed me firmly my arm.
Bam!
I was shocked, his squeeze was tighter than I anticipated. He most definitely isn’t a normal human — a Meta.
I turned immediately to face him squarely, both of us starring into eachothers eyes. Although all I could see was my reflection off of glasses.
"I have a message from the president herself..." He said just loud enough for me to here.
"The identity of... Bionic as we in the ISA like to call him is strictly guarded by the association. It is highly classified information that cannot be revealed to your individual guilds or publicly..."
"Understood..."
He turned his attention towards the rest of the Ghost Town Strike Team.
They all nodded in unison.
"Failure to inact this request will bring about seizure of your license..."
"Now, Bionic. We have seen what you can do... Are you going to reassess?" He turned his focus back to me.
I scoffed a d backed away, "I told you I’ll think about it... For now I’m still Skateboard Man the E-Class hero from Sector D".
I had no idea why the would send a monitoring division here, like Shadow Girl was going to run off with me or something.
I nodded my head.
The quick witted subordinates of The Apostle quickly surrounded me like bodyguards as I released my armor, letting it trickle and recessed into the Forever Core planted firmly in my chest.
"If you have any questions, please send them to the ISA call center. We shall escort Reno Renly aka Skateboard Man E-Class hero Rank 50 out now."
