Ex-Rank Awakening: My Attacks Make Me Stronger-Chapter 99: EX . Kill Joy
Chapter 99: EX 99. Kill Joy
Leon and his squad thundered across the demon territory atop their Raider bikes, the engines roaring like beasts hungry for war. The ashen skies above stretched endlessly, but their mission was clear, and Leon was determined to complete it faster than anyone expected.
This time, there were no interruptions.
Every demonic beast that stirred along the way was met with swift, lethal judgment. A flash of Leon’s blade here, and a flicker of light-speed movement there, he didn’t waste words or time. Creatures fell in droves before they could even roar. He carved a silent path of carnage, letting no enemy even slow them down.
The skirmish with the giant worm earlier had drained Adrian, Eden, and Eleanor more than they’d shown so he handled every beast himself.
As they reached each of the five strongholds like clockwork.
Just like the first, Leon blitzed in alone, a blur of steel and speed, clearing every demon with clinical precision. The commanders never stood a chance. While he handled the killing, his squad took up the support role: harvesting cores, organs, and demon materials, then offloading them all into Leon’s seemingly bottomless inventory.
By the time they reached the fifth, the squad was visibly drained, their uniforms stained with ash, blood, and sweat.
Then Leon dropped the bomb.
"Let’s push for ten more."
The collective groans echoed like thunder.
"I think my bones are trying to leave my body." Eden rubbed his face with a grimace.
"You’re not serious... are you?" Eleanor asked wondering if she should escape while she had the chance.
Adrian remained silent, but deep down, even he was tired and exhausted.
Leon flashed a calm, unfazed smile.
"Think of it this way, The sooner we finish, the more time you’ll have to yourselves. So don’t give up yet; remember, you are still soldiers of the federation."
The three looked at each other, then back at Leon. There was a brief, heavy silence... then, begrudgingly, they nodded.
They had long since realized that if Leon Kael decided they were going to clear thirty strongholds in one day, they would somehow find themselves doing it. Even if their legs fell off.
Leon smiled inwardly, pleased at how smoothly he’d defused their reluctance.
"At this rate, we’ll clear half of the quota before nightfall,"
"But best not to say that aloud..." he mused silently.
"Don’t want them dropping dead from despair."
And just like that, Unit 01 was on the move again
From stronghold to stronghold, a blazing trail of destruction in their wake.
Leon tore through every defense, crushed every commander, and left no demon standing. freewёbnoνel-com
His sword never dulled.
His pace never slowed.
And though exhaustion weighed on his squad, they kept up, driven by discipline, pride, and the quiet awe of watching someone defy every rule of strength and logic they knew.
By the time the fifteenth stronghold collapsed in rubble behind them, the sun had dipped low in the demon skies. The squad turned their Raiders around, dust and blood clinging to their gear, and rode back to Base 01.
Leon sat tall at the front, wind brushing through his hair, his thoughts calm and focused.
"Fifteen in one day. Twice what I planned."
"With this credit haul, I can pick up multiple arts. and finally start crafting one of my own..."
And just like that,
Unit 01 returned to the base, battered but triumphant, leaving behind a broken trail of strongholds and a clear message in the demon lands:
Leon Kael had arrived.

As the dusky skies of the demon territory stretched overhead, Unit 01 rode their Raiders through the crimson-hazed wastelands on their way back to Base 01. The engines rumbled beneath them, vibrating through the bones like the last echo of war drums after battle.
Eleanor, slumped a little on her seat, let out a long exhale.
"I can’t wait to soak in a hot bath and de-stress," she muttered, practically drooling at the thought of steaming water and silence.
Adrian gave a tired nod.
"Same here. My shoulders feel like they’ve been carrying a mountain."
Eden stretched an arm behind his head, steering lazily with one hand. "Honestly, I might skip training today, need some time for my mental health..."
But then Leon’s calm voice cut through the moment like a knife.
"Just make sure you don’t stay up too late."
"Afterall we’re heading back out early tomorrow to clear the remaining Fifteen."
There was a full second of silence.
Before Eden screamed, his voice raw and echoing across the barren plain:
"We’re still heading out tomorrow!?"
Leon glanced back at him, not slowing.
"Yeah, the Sooner we clear them, the better."
Eden groaned like his soul had just left his body.
"Fucking killjoy..." Eleanor muttered under her breath,
But Leon’s heightened senses picked it up like she’d whispered into his ear.
"What was that?" he asked, a teasing edge in his voice.
Eleanor stiffened as if she’d been electrocuted. "N-Nothing! I just agreed with you. We should definitely be done with the strongholds by tomorrow."
Leon smirked.
"I am glad you feel the same."
Adrian chuckled at the display, while Eden let out a tired laugh. Even Eleanor couldn’t help but crack a sheepish grin as her cheeks flushed red.
The moment felt light.
Almost peaceful.
But then it happened.
Leon’s expression changed in an instant,
His eyes narrowed.
His skin prickled.
Every instinct in his body screamed one word:
DANGER!!!!
His voice roared through the comms like a thunderclap:
"TAKE COVER—!"
But it was already too late.
A deafening BOOM!!! split the earth.
As a massive explosion detonated directly between their Raiders, a blinding flash of light and heat erupting outward with a violent shockwave that hurled rock, dust, and debris in every direction.
The sound was overwhelming, like the world itself had screamed.
Flames licked the air. Smoke engulfed the horizon.
In the chaos, the formation shattered, Raiders sent flying, screams drowned by the roar of destruction. The ground cracked, and the atmosphere was replaced with a burning haze.
And amidst the fading echo of the blast, a new, darker presence stirred in the shadows...
