Exiled!? Ha! I have An Infinite Space-Chapter 48 -
"Fuck you!"
The words left my mouth before I could even think about them, my anger burning so fiercely that I did not care who heard me, did not care how shocked their faces looked as the rain poured heavily around us.
I stepped forward, my chest rising and falling.
"You sent two women out into this storm," I said, my voice shaking with disbelief, "and you expect me to stand here calmly as though that makes any sense?"
Aunt Fu’s eyes narrowed instantly.
"They are not children."
"That is not the point," I snapped, my frustration rising. "Rain this heavy with slippery ground everywhere and somehow you thought it was a good idea to send them outside?"
Uncle Fu frowned. "We needed firewood."
"And that required risking their safety?" I shot back. "If it was truly that important, why did you not send your daughter instead?"
The air seemed to freeze.
Fu Jia stiffened.
Aunt Fu’s face darkened. "Watch your words, Su Long."
"No, you watch your decisions," I replied coldly. "Fu Li and Bai Ming are women just like Fu Jia. If it was so safe, so harmless, why was your daughter suddenly too precious to go?"
"That is different!"
"How is it different?" My voice rose. "Because Fu Li is convenient? Because Bai Ming is easier to sacrifice?"
Fu Jia shifted uncomfortably, clearly shaken.
Aunt Fu crossed her arms tightly.
"They volunteered."
I laughed bitterly.
"Volunteered? Under what pressure? In what situation? Do you even hear yourselves right now?"
The argument escalated quickly, voices rising, tension snapping like dry wood until —
Cabin doors creaked open.
Madame Fu stepped outside first, rubbing her eyes, confusion written all over her sleepy face. Fu Fei and her brothers followed behind her, yawning loudly, clearly dragged from deep sleep.
"What is going on?" Madame Fu asked, frowning.
Fu Fei squinted at us. "Why is everyone awake?"
Before anyone could properly answer —
Fu Sheng turned.
Then ran.
Straight into the rain.
"Fu Sheng?!" Madame Fu called out in surprise.
But he did not stop.
His footsteps splashed violently through puddles as he sprinted toward the head guards’ cabin.
BANG!
His fist slammed against the door.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The noise shattered the quiet night.
Inside, hurried movement followed and moments later, the door opened.
One of the guards stepped out, visibly irritated, eyes heavy with sleep.
"What is wrong with you people? Do you have any idea what time it—"
Then he saw Fu Sheng.
"...Young Master Fu?"
Fu Sheng stood there completely drenched, rain dripping from his hair, his voice cold and sharp.
"My sister is missing."
The guard blinked.
"...What?"
"Fu Li," Fu Sheng said firmly. "And Bai Ming. They were sent out hours ago. They have not returned."
The irritation vanished instantly.
"...They are missing?"
"Yes."
Without hesitation, the guard spun around and rushed inside.
"Wake the Head Guard immediately!"
Chaos erupted within the cabin.
Fu Sheng did not wait.
He turned and ran back through the rain.
Back toward us.
Madame Fu stared at Fu Sheng’s retreating figure, confusion slowly turning into something far more unsettling.
"...Missing?" she whispered.
The word seemed to drain the color from her face.
She turned sharply toward Aunt Fu and Uncle Fu, her eyes widening as panic began to take hold.
"What do you mean missing?" Her voice trembled. "Where is my daughter?"
No one answered immediately.
That silence alone was enough.
Madame Fu’s breathing became uneven as realization struck her like a physical blow. Without hesitation, she rushed forward and grabbed Uncle Fu by the collar, her fingers clutching the fabric tightly despite the rain soaking everything.
"Where is Fu Li?!" she cried, her voice breaking. "What did you do?!"
Uncle Fu stumbled slightly, clearly caught off guard.
"Let go of me!"
Madame Fu’s grip only tightened.
"What have I ever done to you?" she demanded, tears mixing with rain on her face. "Tell me, what have I ever done to deserve this cruelty from you?!"
"Madame Fu, you are being unreasonable—"
"Unreasonable?!" she sobbed. "You sent my daughter into the storm!"
Uncle Fu’s patience snapped.
He forcefully pushed her hands away, causing her to stagger backward.
Before she could fall, Fu Tong and Fu Teng rushed forward.
"Mother!"
They quickly caught her, steadying her shaking body as she broke into uncontrollable sobs.
Fu Sheng’s expression darkened instantly.
He stepped forward, fury blazing in his eyes, his fists clenching as he began marching toward Uncle Fu.
But suddenly a hand grabbed him.
His mother.
She held onto him tightly, her grip trembling.
"Fu Sheng..." she sobbed, shaking her head desperately. "No... no..."
Her voice cracked with fear.
"Do not... please..."
Fu Sheng froze.
The anger still burned violently within him, but seeing his mother like that forced him to stop but i could tell that it wouldn’t take much time until he finally beats stupidity out of uncle Fu.
Then sound of footsteps was heard
The Head Guard arrived, followed by several armed guards, their expressions clearly irritated from being dragged out into the storm yet again.
His sharp gaze swept across the scene.
"What is this disturbance now?" he demanded.
No one dared speak immediately.
Then Fu Fei stepped forward quickly.
"Head Guard," she said urgently, "Fu Li and Bai Ming were sent into the forest earlier to gather firewood, but they have not returned."
The guards immediately stiffened.
The Head Guard’s brows furrowed.
"...They are missing?"
"Yes."
Aunt Fu stepped forward hurriedly. "It was not like that..." Uncle Fu followed immediately.
"We had no choice-"
"Silence."
The Head Guard’s voice cut through the air like a blade as both of them froze.
His gaze hardened dangerously.
"You may explain yourselves later," he said coldly. "For now, this situation requires immediate attention."
He turned sharply toward his men.
"Prepare for a search."
The guards moved instantly, tension replacing sleepiness.
Fu Sheng stepped forward without hesitation.
"We are coming with you."
Fu Tong and Fu Teng nodded firmly beside him.
"They are our sisters." The Head Guard paused as his eyes narrowed slightly.
There was hesitation.
"You are exiles," he said carefully. "If I allow you into the forest at night, nothing prevents you from escaping."
The implication hung heavily in the air.
Fu Sheng’s jaw tightened.
But before the tension could escalate, I stepped forward.
"Head Guard."
He turned to me.
"Fu Li is their younger sister," I said clearly. "At this moment, the only thing on their minds is finding her."
I continued.
"No one thinking of escape would stand here arguing in the middle of the night. No one planning to run would beg to walk deeper into danger."
The Head Guard studied my face carefully.
"These men are worried brothers," I said softly but with conviction. "Nothing more."
Silence stretched between us.
Then with a slow exhale.
"...Very well."
Fu Sheng’s shoulders visibly relaxed.
"But understand this," the Head Guard warned coldly, "if anyone attempts anything foolish, the consequences will be severe."
"No one will run," I replied calmly.
He turned back to his guards.
"Get ready.. we move in the next few minutes."
Hearing that, Fu Tong and Fu Teng went inside to get ready.
I stood beside Fu Sheng, the rain soaking through my clothes as the guards prepared the torches. My voice was calm, but my tone left no room for argument.
"I hope you know I will be following you as well to look for Fu Li."
Fu Sheng turned to me immediately, his brows tightening.
"No."
The answer came fast, firm, almost instinctive.
I blinked. "No?"
"You are not going anywhere," he said, his voice low but edged with tension. "The forest is dangerous enough during the day. At night, in this rain? Absolutely not."
I crossed my arms. "Fu Li is missing."
"And that is exactly why you should stay here," he snapped. "One person missing is already a problem. I will not have another."
His frustration was obvious, but so was something else worry.
I stepped closer.
"I am not asking for permission."
His eyes narrowed. "Su Long."
"I am going."
The rain drummed loudly between us as we stared at each other, neither willing to yield.
"You are stubborn," he muttered.
"And you are overprotective."
"This is not a joke."
"Neither is Fu Li’s life."
For a moment, neither of us spoke. The tension stretched, thick and unyielding.
Then he exhaled sharply, running a hand through his wet hair.
"...Stay close to me."
A small smile tugged at my lips.
"So you are agreeing?"
"I am tolerating," he corrected coldly, though the defeat in his voice was unmistakable.
Before I could tease him further —
Suddenly —
A flood of thoughts crashed into my mind.
I should definitely follow them...
My body stiffened.
That voice...
It was not mine. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
After all, I know according to the script that Fu Li has fallen into a hole and is currently fighting for her life. Meanwhile, Bai Ming has already passed out near her.
My heart skipped violently.
Script?
Hole?
Fighting for her life?
If I can find Fu Li first, Fu Sheng will definitely start treating me better.
I frowned deeply.
Those thoughts...
They were not mine.
slowly, very slwolybI lifted my head.
And then I saw her.
Li Manman.
Standing a short distance away under the dim torchlight.
Smiling.
Not a normal smile.
It was subtle, crooked, almost eerie, like someone quietly savoring a secret no one else knew.
My eyes widened.
A chill ran down my spine that had nothing to do with the rain.
"...No way..."
My lips parted slightly.
As realization struck.
"...Li Manman also transmigrated?"
