Exiled Prince and His Succubus Army-Chapter 37: Kissing Priestess Rei
Rei was so shocked when she felt this dig pressed against her behind because she had never felt one before.
The sensation was entirely new, a firm, insistent pressure that sent an unexpected jolt through her body. And the feeling was very... pleasurable.
She stood there, frozen by the fire pit, the skewered meat sizzling in the flames as Renji squeezed past her in the tight space. His body had brushed against hers unavoidably, chest to back, hips aligning for that lingering second, and there it was, his rod, hard and warm even through their clothes, pressing into the soft curve of her behind.
It was a scandalous intrusion, one that made her breath catch in her throat, her heart pounding like a ritual drum. The pleasure surprised her most of all; a warm flush spread from the point of contact, tingling down her legs and up her spine, leaving her knees weak.
Her faith had taught her to shun such carnal distractions, to focus on spiritual purity, but this... this was a dangerous spark, igniting something deep within her that she hadn’t known existed.
Even after Renji had passed to the other side and grabbed the utensil he needed, stepping away with a casual "Sorry about that," she could still imagine she felt the dig pressed against her behind.
It lingered in her mind like an echo, long and hot and hard, a phantom pressure that made her shift uncomfortably, her skin prickling with goosebumps.
She forced herself to stop thinking such scandalous and intense things, shaking her head as if to dislodge the thoughts. Focus on the cooking, she told herself, turning the skewers with trembling hands, the meat’s juices dripping into the fire with a hiss.
The aroma of herbs and roasting flesh grounded her, but her body betrayed her, a low heat simmering in her core that had nothing to do with the flames.
Meanwhile, Kaede was watching everything from the doorway with an amused look on her face. She leaned against the frame, arms crossed, her sharp eyes missing nothing, the way Rei’s blush deepened, the subtle shiver that ran through her.
Kaede knew Renji was a scandalous person; he could turn on the charms with almost any woman, weaving that magnetic pull that had ensnared her and Aya already. He’d done the same to her not long ago, those teasing touches and commanding gazes breaking down her defenses until she surrendered.
But it was fun to watch him do it to Rei, who was unraveling already, her priestess composure cracking like thin ice. Kaede suspected that Rei wouldn’t last more than five days before she succumbed to her desires, the signs were all there, the flushed skin, the distracted glances. With a quiet chuckle to herself, Kaede turned back inside, leaving Rei to her internal turmoil.
Anyway, dinner was finally ready, the meat cooked to a perfect char, accompanied by fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden. They served themselves on simple wooden plates, gathering around the low table in the shrine’s main room.
The group settled in, the day’s hunt providing a hearty meal that filled the air with savory scents. Renji didn’t sit with Rei this time; instead, he chose a spot next to Aya, their shoulders brushing as they ate. He wolfed down his food very quickly, his appetite voracious after the exertion, finishing while the others were still midway through their portions.
So, while the rest continued eating, he lay back, resting his head on Aya’s lap. She smiled down at him, her fingers absently stroking his hair as she took another bite. Renji stared up at the sky through the open window, the stars beginning to peek out, or perhaps he idly played with his sword, twirling the hilt in his fingers, lost in thought.
Rei, across the table, saw this and was surprised to find herself jealous of Aya. The sight of Renji so comfortably intimate with her stirred an unwelcome envy in her chest, a sharp pang that made her grip her plate tighter. Why did she want Renji to lay his head on her lap? 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
To feel his weight, his warmth, that casual affection directed at her? She then began to wonder when she had started having such feelings and such thoughts, especially because they were not pure. Her faith demanded celibacy, a devotion to the divine above all earthly desires, yet here she was, her mind wandering to forbidden places.
The lily he’d given her sat nearby, its petals a mocking reminder of his words about her "dainty beauty." She poked at her food, appetite waning, as the internal conflict churned purity versus this new, insistent pull.
That night, when it was time to sleep and they were all retiring to their respective corners of the shrine, Renji stretched with a yawn but declared he didn’t feel like sleeping just yet. The moon hung full and silver outside, casting a ethereal glow over the forest.
He turned to Rei, who was folding her bedding, and said, "Come with me outside. Let’s take a walk under the moon." Rei hesitated, glancing at the dark woods beyond the entrance. "It’s... dangerous at night," she said softly, her oracle senses prickling with vague warnings of beasts or worse.
But Renji assured her with that confident smile, "I can protect you from anything that tries to attack us. Trust me." His words carried the weight of his growing power, and after a moment’s pause, she agreed, curiosity and that lingering spark winning out.
Kaede and Aya exchanged a knowing look as they settled into their beds, smirking at each other. They knew Renji might be about to make a move on Rei tonight, the way he singled her out, the moonlit walk a classic setup. "Good luck to her," Aya whispered with a giggle, and Kaede nodded, pulling her blanket up.
Outside, Renji and Rei walked leisurely along a narrow path, the breeze cool and carrying the scent of night-blooming flowers. Crickets chirped in harmony, the moon’s light painting everything in soft silver. Renji asked how long she had been in the shrine, how long she’d been devoted to the faith.
She answered thoughtfully, "Five years, since I was thirteen." He nodded, probing gently, "What was your life before the faith?" It turned out she had lived with her family in a peaceful village, but raiders had attacked, taking them as prisoners.
One of the faith’s members, a kind elder, had rescued her, buying her freedom from the slavers. But instead of using her as a servant, they had freed her completely, welcoming her into their family as one of their own. They were all practitioners of the faith, and that’s how she had found her path, drawn to its teachings of purity and foresight.
She then asked about him, turning the conversation. Renji shared his story with a rueful smile, he had been the crown prince, destined for the throne. But on his coronation day, his stepbrother and stepmother had connived against him, staging a coup that stole his seat and nearly his life.
He’d escaped into exile, vowing revenge. Rei felt sorry for him, reaching out to hold his hand affectionately, her touch warm and sympathetic. "I’m so sorry," she murmured. But he squeezed her hand, shaking his head. "Don’t pity me. I’m going to get my throne back, don’t worry." His eyes gleamed with determination under the moonlight.
Then, with a playful tilt to his voice, he added, "When I do, I’m going to make you my queen." He paused, considering. "Or high priestess, if that’s what you want." Rei blinked, taken aback, her blush returning. "I... I don’t know. You couldn’t marry a nun, a priestess devoted to the faith."
And besides, she thought of Aya and Kaede, two very beautiful women to whom she couldn’t compete, their confidence, their allure far outshining her quiet grace. Renji stopped walking, turning to face her fully. "That’s not true," he said firmly. "When I’m king, I can do whatever I want, change the rules if needed."
As for the second part, he stepped closer, his gaze intense. "And you’re wrong about that too. You’re a beautiful girl I’ve set my eyes on." The words hung between them, charged with promise. He then leaned in to kiss her, his lips brushing hers softly at first, the moon bearing witness to the moment.
