Extra And MC-Chapter 106 - 102 - Ogre Yeti
(About thirty minutes before the avalanche occurred…)
"This is definitely a mountain…" Flynn muttered to himself as he slowly trudged up the what seemed to be a snowy slope.
Leaving a trail of dead polar newts in his wake, the youth had realized, about ten minutes ago, that the area he was traversing was slowly getting steeper the further he kept walking.
At first Flynn had decided to go back down and walk around the mountain but, upon realizing that his visibility was slowly getting clearer, he had opted to keep moving up.
Following up with that thought, the youth kept moving up and just has he had hoped, his view soon became completely unobstructed by the heavy blizzard.
The steep peak of the far and majestic snow-covered mountain dramatically came into Flynn’s full view, its edges adorned with sparse, glistening white snow as it pierced the blue sky.
"Breathtaking…" the youth muttered again as his dull eyes kept staring at the beautiful mountain peak that was immensely far away from him.
But, in the next few seconds, he swiftly angled his gaze downward because, with the good news of his visibility been restored, came another bad news of its own.
Flynn was now in a bit of a sticky situation.
If previously, he had been slowly trudging up the mountain, now, it had become full-on climbing.
He had now also reached a point on the snowy mountain where if he even so much as made a simple misstep, he would definitely go tumbling down, all the way back to the white abyss below him.
’I could use either of my [Force Field] or [Ether Blade] spells but…’ Flynn contemplated.
"…there’s no guarantee I won’t trigger an avalanche with so much as a slight vibration" he completed his thoughts while speaking to himself.
Deciding that the best option would be, to either reach the top of the mountain or traverse sideways around the mountain till he found a naturally-formed cave to stay for a while coming up with his next plan of action, the youth chose the very first option.
Sure, finding a naturally-formed cave seemed like the wisest option, especially when considering that he was nowhere close to even being halfway up the mountain, but, was there even a guarantee that he would find one?
Besides, it still felt infinitely dangerous than having to just keep moving upwards, a destination he knew he could make it to easily, especially with all the protective features of his battle suit.
"Up the peak it is then" Flynn concluded his thoughts with a slight nod and continued moving upwards.
Diligently continuing to climb up the mountain with a steady pace for a few more minutes, the youth noticed something from the corner of his eye.
Luckily enough, a fair few meters sideways and up the mountain, away from where Flynn was currently at on the steep slopes of the mountain, he caught sight of what seemed to be a fairly large cave.
Seeing this, Flynn although still a bit wary about why a large cave would be situated at this part of the mountain, couldn’t help but want to rest there, hoping to come up with a much better plan than the current one he had decided upon.
With that in mind, Flynn began to traverse sideways, slowly making his way up to the entrance of the wide cave.
Finally, upon reaching the opening of the cave, he placed his hands at the edges of the entrance, intent on hoisting himself upwards but the moment his head peeked out of the cave entrance’s edges, he was met with a sight that would normally scare the living hell out of anyone.
Staring back at the youth, mere inches away from his apathetic face, was an Ogre Yeti. A B-ranked monster.
It’s singular giant eye with similarly large grey irises that occupied most of its face locked onto Flynn’s indifferent aquamarine green eyes and both beings held each other’s gaze for a few seconds, a dangerous tension palpable in the air.
Normally, Flynn should’ve had a frightened reaction, one that transcended beyond his wits.
That, should be a normal reaction one would have when met with an unexpectedly precarious and frightening situation like this.
However, due to him having being already quite wary about the perfectly-situated and conveniently-placed cave, it came more or less as a mild shock to him, not that it was currently present on his features.
Along with that was his bloodlust which had dulled his emotions considerably, and also, something which he had purposely left activated when approaching the cave, in case any monsters were present in it.
This, had definitely drawn the Ogre Yeti to the cave’s entrance, and as a result, when Flynn’s eyes and the Ogre Yeti’s had met, he was very much prepared for what he would do.
Holding each other’s gaze for a few more seconds, the palpably dangerous tension which was shared between human and beast, broke in a split moment as the Ogre Yeti lunged its head forward in an instant, its two lower canines that were sharpened and sticking out of its jaw like pincers, intent on biting off Flynn’s head.
Without a second wasted, Flynn retracted his hands from the ledge with the intent to jump backwards and off the mountain, all while chanting a spell inwardly.
Unfortunately, the Ogre Yeti was faster.
Immediately realizing his gaping jaw with ridiculously sharpened teeth missed the youth’s head by a mere fraction, it extended its hands and grabbed Flynn’s entire body immediately, preventing the youth from jumping backwards as he had planned.
Now smiling maliciously at the puny human in his hand as it stood at the edge of the cave’s entrance, cold wind blowing past both of them, the Ogre Yeti genuinely believed its prey was as good as dead.
But, Flynn who had now deactivated his bloodlust, let out a genuinely wicked smirk despite being in the monster’s grasp and in an instant, willed his [Ether Blades] which he had previously activated just before the Yeti had caught him to hit the sides of the mountain’s with a ridiculous force!
-Thrack! Tang! Bam!
The large vibrations caused by his slates hitting the mountain’s sides, did just as he had expected it to and immediately, a low, rumbling, almost whispering sound, travelled into both he and the Ogre Yeti’s ears.
-Grrrr…
-Rumble…
A subtle shift in the snowpack’s equilibrium was all the youth needed.
Following this trigger, along with the ominous whisper of an avalanche’s onset, the first few crystalline flakes began to tumble down, setting off a cascade of impending chaos.
-Fuuuaaa!!!
Taking it as his que, Flynn retrieved all of his slates in an instant while roaring with another spell!
"[Telekinetic Series: Force Push]!!!"
An invisible wave of energy smacked into the back of the Ogre Yeti with a tremendous force, it’s one giant eye widening in realization at what the puny human had done, throwing both it and the youth off of the cave’s entrance and onto the slopes of the steep mountain.
Simultaneously, the creature’s firm grasp loosened on Flynn’s body as they were about to land onto the slopes of the mountain and in a fraction of a second, Flynn’s katana reappeared in his hands.
’You should’ve just eaten me instead of staring at me the moment you saw me’ Flynn inwardly commented with a devilish smile.
Immediately, the youth drove the katana straight into the Ogre Yeti’s giant eyes, a fountain of blue blood spewing out as the beast roared in agonizing pain!
"Raaarrrrggghhh!!!"
At this moment too, Flynn jumped out of the beast’s giant hand and quickly used his [Ether Blades] spell again.
Positioning all of his slates into one long rectangular structure with the intent to land on it, the Ogre Yeti that was now thrashing around and rolling downwards the mountain’s slopes along with rumbling of the oncoming avalanche made it hard for the youth to properly land onto it mid-air.
Quickly, Flynn lowered his slates onto the slopes of the mountain as his feet finally landed on it, requiring him, someone who had never snowboarded once in his life to try to not die in the process of wanting to escape the oncoming avalanche.
Amateurishly trying to snowboard down the mountain with the Ogre Yeti trashing behind him along with the even more dangerous threat of the rapidly cascading and destructive piles of snow threatening to end his life, Flynn scolded himself with a reprimanding shout
"I always complain about how Aiden always does crazy stuff but what the actual hell am I even trying to do?!"
As the youth amateurishly carved his way down the slopes of the mountain, he soon found a balance and rhythm to his endeavor, mostly also due to being able to control his slates as he wished with slight movements that caused him to effortlessly and skillfully snowboard downwards.

By now, due to the entire process of having to climb up the mountain, traverse sideways at certain intervals, trying to reach the Ogre Yeti’s cave, and eventually, the avalanche he had caused, Flynn was now at the far left side of the mountain, directly facing towards where the actual fissure entrance was.
It was also the place where he should’ve spawned at along with Aiden when they both entered the fissure and now, still unknown to the youth, he was leading an avalanche straight downwards and towards the open grounds where both Aiden and Frost Serpent who were currently having their own battle were situated at.
That was how Aiden had eventually spotted his brother snowboarding down the mountain, away from both the monster that was seemingly lunging forward to attack him and the avalanche itself.
