Extra Borne: Transmigrated Into A System Apocalypse Soulsborne Novel-Chapter 59 - 57: The Waste of Eternity
The world blurred, the edges of reality dissolving into suffocating thick mist. I could barely breathe, the air trembling as if caught in the rhythm of some unspoken truth. My heart pounded against my ribs, and then, cutting through the stillness, came the voice.
Deep. Resonant. It didn’t merely echo... it seeped into the marrow of my bones, vibrating in places I didn’t know existed.
"Betrayed by blood. Cast down by her own creation. Her love turned to hatred, her nurturing hand now a claw of vengeance. The Mother of Eternity has become the Waste of Eternity."
The words didn’t just strike the air.. they tore through me, my very being unraveling thread by thread... piece by piece. My ears throbbed, each syllable a mighty thunderclap that threatened to split my head open. For a fleeting moment, I thought I might go deaf... or worse, lose myself completely.
Yet the voice pressed on, relentless, carving its tale deep into my mind.
"Long before the heavens fractured and the Null fell into despair, she was revered as the Mother of Eternity, a being of boundless grace."
A vision flashed unbidden in my mind: a woman of unearthly majesty, her emerald dreadlocks cascading like rivers of the milky way, each strand shimmering as though woven from starlight. Her presence wasn’t merely seen.. it was felt, a hymn of creation that filled the void with purpose.
The voice deepened, its cadence like the toll of a cosmic bell.
"As the fifteenth wife of the S#_t##…"
The name was incomprehensible, a void in my understanding that my mind refused to grasp. It felt like trying to hold water in clenched fists. But the voice continued, undeterred by my mortal limitations.
"…she bore the title with honor, guiding the tiers within Magastar with her wisdom and nurturing hand. She filled the Fruits of Narrative with stars, energy, and balance, weaving life into the cosmic testament."
Each word was a hammer striking an anvil, the knowledge too vast, too ancient for my mortal mind to bear. My head burned, my skull feeling as if it might split apart. I clutched at it in desperation, grinding my teeth as the weight of her legacy bore down on me. Still, the voice did not relent.
"Among her creations, the most radiant and beloved was Eternity, a being forged in the heart of her soul... a son she cherished above all. She envisioned him as the guardian, a protector who would one day succeed her in keeping the balance of Magastar."
There was a flicker of warmth in the tale, brief and fragile, like the faintest glow of a dying ember. And then it shattered.. completely, like it never existed..
"But Eternity grew restless, consumed by the desire to be everything. Fueled by ambition, he betrayed his mother, severing the sacred bond between them. He cast her into the depths of ???, wrenching her name from the Narrative and condemning her to waste and nothingness."
The words were knives, each one sharper than the last. The betrayal rippled through me, a wave of anguish so raw it felt as though it were my own.
"Her grief turned to rage.. a consuming hatred so potent it threatened to destroy the Null Plane, to shatter the Tree of Narrative and all it held."
The air around me grew heavier, the voice lowering to a guttural growl.
"The skies blackened, the stars screamed as her sorrow spread. The S#_t## intervened, sealing her within the Wasteland of Lament, a realm created by her rage and anguish, where she could harm no one."
The voice faded, its tale complete. But the silence that followed was worse, an oppressive stillness that pressed down on me like a smothering weight.
The mist churned around me, thick and choking, its presence almost alive. Slowly, my vision began to clear.

And then I saw it.
At first, it was nothing more than a vague shape, a figure wrapped in layers of impenetrable darkness. But as the mist thinned, details emerged.. ragged wings curled tightly around its form, their edges jagged and torn like shards of shattered glass. The creature’s sheer size was monstrous, towering above me like a blight upon reality.
The wings shifted. A slow, intentional motion.
And then came the sound.
A breath...
Just a single exhale, faint and almost imperceptible, yet it carried the weight of eternity. The moment it reached me, my chest seized, and I fell to my knees, coughing violently. Blood splattered the ground, dark and viscous. I could feel something pulling at me, a force unlike anything I’d ever known. It wasn’t just my body.. it was my existence, my presence being unraveled, as though the breath was erasing me.
I tried to move, to flee, but my body was no longer mine to command. Every muscle was locked, frozen in place by the crushing weight of the being’s presence.
Its wings unfurled further, the mist rippling as it revealed more of its form.
And then, I saw its face... or I almost did.
My mind rebelled against the sight, twisting and distorting it into something incomprehensible. I knew that if I looked any longer, I would lose myself entirely, my sanity slipping through my fingers like sand.
And then, just as the terror reached its peak, the world went black.
There was nothing. No sound. No light. Just an infinite void that stretched endlessly in every direction.
And then, faintly, I heard it.
Ding!
A voice spoke cheerfully, clear and familiar, cutting through the darkness.
"Let me take care of this. For now… it’s beyond you."
I knew that voice.
Her.
But what was she doing here? Why now?
It wasn’t time. The plan we had crafted, wasn’t supposed to start, she isn’t supposed to even show herself...
The questions swirled in my mind, chaotic and unrelenting. But there were no answers, only the void, pulling me further into its embrace.
And as I slipped away, one final thought lingered.
Would I ever see the truth again?
