The next few minutes were nothing short of but struggle for Evelyn.
Why?....Well because not only Yuri was constantly attacking Evelyn not giving her chance to gain distance from him to attack Yuri with full and Joe who was dazed on the ground was somehow recovered enough for to Support Yuri.
Now, Evelyn has to constantly dodge or blocked attack from both side.
If she only gained few moments of distance and time she could reverse this whole situation.
But both Yuri and Joe were not going give her room for breathing.
It's do or die situation for Evelyn.
Thus, for the next minute or so, as Evelyn fought with the duo, the longer they fought, the more she found herself at a disadvantage as her hand started to become number with every single clash.
Frowning, Evelyn could only grit her teeth and try her best to dodge and counterattack whenever she had the opportunity.
-Swhooosh! -Swhooosh!
Although Evelyn was strong, because she was currently fighting in close quarters, her real advantage was taken away from her.
…It seems like her opponents knew her weakness well.
-Swooosh!
As she once again narrowly avoided the spear and blade coming from her front and left side, Evelyn quickly glanced towards Hora and Volt in the distance. She wanted to see how their situation was.
…and what she saw made her heart sink. Both Hora and Volt were currently in a similar situation to hers.
Although it seemed like Hora wanted to help her, his opponent seemed to be constantly harassing him from the distance.
It had to be noted that the opponent Hora was currently facing was a bow user just like Evelyn.
Hora worst enemy and weakness.
Although the archer that was attacking Hora was nowhere near as skilled as Evelyn, because Hora didn't have any long-ranged attacking methods, he was currently unable to do anything.
…thus, although Hora wasn't hurt from any of the arrows coming in his way, because he was constantly being kited, he was unable to come to help her. Seeing this, glancing to her right in Volt's direction, Evelyn saw him fighting against another person.
His situation seemed to be a little bit better than Hora, however, it was clear that he wouldn't be able to break free anytime soon. His opponent was strong, and even though Volt was holding his ground, he was locked in a battle of endurance.
'This isn't good,' Evelyn thought, gritting her teeth.
If this continued, she would eventually be overwhelmed. She needed to turn the tide—fast.
Ducking under another spear thrust, she rolled to the side and barely avoided Joe's follow-up slash. Her breathing was heavy, and her arms ached from constantly deflecting their attacks.
She needed to make a decision.
Fast.
-Kacha!
Thrusting his spear toward Evelyn, Yuri shouted at top of his lungs.
"You know, In Battlefield you should pay attention to your front enemy rather than anywhere else!"
Evelyn could only grit her teeth as she narrowly avoid the attack which could have been proven very deadly.
Seeing the current situation of Evelyn and her group, Yuri couldn't help but feel rush of excitement running through his veins.
Yeah, he got beaten up by Evelyn in the start.
Yeah, he knows that if Aric comes here for everything would be over.
Yeah, he knows that moment ago he was verge of loosing against Evelyn.
...But that was past and this is presant situation.
"Everything is going just as planned, your teammates won't be able to help you anytime soon. Moreover, with Aric and your reinforcements being too far from your location, the only option you have is to lose"
The more he fought, the greater the excitement John felt.
…he was finally going to do it.
He was finally going to beat the arrogant Aric and the cold princess Evelyn. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
He was going to accomplish a feat that would make everyone acknowledge his strength.
Grinning, Yuri tightened his grip on his spear and pressed forward, his attacks becoming fiercer. Evelyn was struggling, barely managing to parry or evade, her movements slowing with every passing second.
Joe, seeing an opportunity, swung his sword in a downward arc, forcing Evelyn to sidestep—right into Yuri's waiting thrust.
'Damn it—!'
Evelyn twisted her body at the last second, the spear grazing her side instead of piercing her outright. Even so, the sharp pain made her wince.
Yuri smirked. "You're getting slower."
Evelyn didn't reply. She didn't have time for banter. Her mind was racing, searching for a way out of this situation. If she could just create some distance…
But before she could act, Joe lunged again, his sword cutting through the air toward her.
'No choice!'
Evelyn made a snap decision. Instead of dodging, she stepped forward, closing the gap between her and Joe. His eyes widened in surprise as her dagger flashed upward—
—slicing through the fabric of his sleeve and drawing a thin line of blood on his arm.
"Argh!" Joe recoiled, clutching his wounded arm.
It wasn't a deep cut, but it was enough. Enough to make him hesitate.
And that was all Evelyn needed.
Using the opening, she pivoted and kicked off the ground, flipping backward to finally gain some distance.
'Now or never.'
With a sharp inhale, she raised her bow and nocked an arrow. Her fingers, despite their fatigue, felt steady as she aimed at Yuri.
His smirk faltered.
"You really think you can—"
FWOOOOSH!
The arrow left her bow at an incredible speed, forcing Yuri to raise his spear in defense. The impact sent a tremor through his arms.
But Evelyn wasn't done.
In the same breath, she fired another arrow. Then another. And another.
A barrage of projectiles rained upon Yuri and Joe, forcing them back.
Finally, Evelyn smirked.
"The only one losing here…" She pulled back one last arrow, her gaze locked onto her target.
"…is you."
There was smoke of concrete was rising high up in the air.
...And within those smoke, Evelyn heard a silent whisper.
"There is no way in hell I'm going to lose."
... After that the bettle situation took extreme change.
