Chapter 29: Excursion

Tuesday, 7:15am

I was woken up by Mina's rattling sounds.

"Wake up Kaine! We're gonna be late!" she said while shaking me.

"Fine fine, I'm awake" I replied and got out of bed, I really wish I could do anything other then go to that museum.

Today was the day of the excursion, and we were supposed to meet in the courtyard at 8am.

I quickly changed clothes and ate breakfast, then we headed to the meeting point.

Once we arrived, we saw that most of the students were already there.

I could see some familiar faces already, but honestly it doesn't matter, I actually don't need to intervene in this arc, I just have to let the main character do his work this time.

"Good morning everybody!" Ms.Lana shouted, "we will be departing shortly, there are four busses and 25 people are allowed per vehicule"

"Let's go Kaine!" Mina pulled my arm and dragged me to a random one without even checking who was inside.

There weren't many people we knew, except for...

"Sarah" I sighed after seeing her blue hair.

"Oh hey guys!" she greeted us, "it's been a while since we talked, you guys can sit next to me if you want."

"Thanks!" Mina replied happily before taking a place, then I followed.

After ten minutes, the bus started moving and everybody Oooooh'd in unison.

As for me I just stared at the scenery of the city through the window, I had nothing better to do as Sarah and Mina were busy talking about girly stuff.

We arrived at the museum two hours later, and it was huge.

The building was made of white marble and had multiple floors, it was truly impressive.

"Alright, once you guys enter the museum, you can roam freely and enjoy all of it without anybody disturbing any of you" Ms.Lana explained, "I and Mr.Volt will come back at 6pm to go back to school so be sure to be present."

How convenient, the teachers are not inside of a place where a lot of students are, I wonder what is gonna happen.

No but seriously, this is bullshit.

The interactions with other students and essentially Jack's constant approachs have put me on the edge, which is why it's high.

I was currently walking through the museum with Mina and Sarah, we had been here for an hour and I was already starting to get bored.

"Hey Kaine, look at this!" Mina pointed at a giant statue of a man holding a sword, "it's Abraham, he is a legendary hero who fought many high-ranked monsters to save the world!"

"Wow, that's amazing" I replied sarcastically.

"Don't be like that, you should appreciate history more" she pouted.

"Yeah yeah, whatever" I shrugged.

"Hey guys, i'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick, i'll be back soon" Sarah said before leaving.

And so it was just me and Mina, great...

"So, what do you wanna see next?" I asked her.

"Hmmm..." she looked around and spotted something, "let's go there!"

She took my hand and led me to a room with a sign saying "magic relics".

"This is the best part of the museum!"

"Okay then, lead the way" I gestured for her to go ahead.

And so we started walking through the room, it was pretty big and had a lot of things on display.

"Look at this Kaine! It's the wand used by the thunder mage!" she pointed at a small stick, it looked old.

"..."

"And this is the shield used by Nicolas, oh my god!"

"..."

"And this is..." she approached the relic at the far end of the room, it was the one with the most students around, "it's the legendary sword Excadia..." she was mesmerized by the object and stopped talking to appreciate the sight.

To me, this seemed futile, the reason why?

Because the villains who would enter the museum soon will eventually steal the sword as having only students inside is the most convenient timing to take it.

Sarah joined us back and just like Mina had sparkles in her eyes when she saw all these objects.

After two or so hours, I was getting tired and wanted to go back to the dorm, but I couldn't leave Mina and Sarah alone. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸𝘦𝑏𝑛𝑜𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"Hey Kaine, can you go buy me a drink?" the elf asked me.

"No" I replied, not because I didn't want to but because when I looked at my phone, the time was "13:58pm"

Two minutes left.

And when I looked up, I could see not only Mina's pouting face, but also...

The protagonist, Daemon, he was here.

The excursion is a pretty simple arc, the class goes to the "Freesia Museum" as a school trip and the teachers leave for plot reasons.

But this was the villains plan as they had expected this day to launch their attack.

Their goal: kill a maximum amount of students and steal some magic relics.

They unfortunately do not kill anybody because of Daemon's presence but do end up stealing the legendary sword Excadia, which will appear again in a later arc.

This arc was used not only to strengthen Daemon's determination and giving him a new power, but also to make him save Sarah so that she can join the "harem".

I think this author's idea of a harem is twisted though, as most of the times he just makes the protagonist save the girls, then they fall in love with him and eventually he doesn't interact with them anymore.

I don't think Daemon would be the type of guy to accept a harem anyways, looking at his attitude...

After finishing my sudden synopsis of today's upcoming event, I heard a huge BOOM and then the screams of some people coming from another hallway.

"Here it is..." I mumbled.

And just like in the original novel, Daemon rushed in the direction which everybody was running from.

Then me and the girls followed his steps.

I needed Sarah to be in a bad position so that the main character could save her, but also wanted Mina to stay away from the place as it was dangerous.

And as we finally reached the corridor where the loud sounds were coming from, we stood infront of it.

The villains in this arc obviously didn't fight themselves, this would be too risky, but in return they used something else to do the job...

A monster, and an extremely strong one at that.

Before my eyes now stood the beast that was causing all this chaos:

A giant minotaur at least 10 meters tall, it was wearing heavy armor to protect it's brown furr and wielded a gigantic axe made of steel.

"RAAAAARRRRHH" the monster was roaring while swinging his weapon left to right, trying to destroy everything in it's way.

This was the main enemy of this arc.

I gulped at the sight, "phew... this is gonna be complicated."
