SCREEEECHHHHH!!!

The monster let out a loud, ear-piercing scream and thrashed its body violently. However, the attack did not do much damage.

The monster’s skin was too thick. The spikes only pierced a little before cracking under its weight.

CRACK! CRACK!

The ice spikes shattered, and the monster fell back down onto the road with a heavy thud.

BOOM!

The ground shook slightly when it landed.

Noah clicked his tongue. "Tch... too tough."

The monster immediately raised its head and looked at Noah again with its yellow vertical slit eyes filled with rage.

SCREEEEECHHH!!!

It screamed again and rushed toward him even faster this time. Students nearby screamed in terror.

Noah took a quick glance in that direction. His eyes widened in terror.

Some distance away from him, another monster of the same kind was there. Two students were trying to fight it.

’Fuck! There are more monsters.’ The monster ran toward Noah.

"Whatever..." Noah muttered, looking straight at his monster.

He needed to focus on the monster in front of him. He tightened his grip on the spear in his hand and circulated mana through his body. Mana flowed from his core into his arms and legs, strengthening his muscles.

His heartbeat was still fast.

Thump

Thump

Thump

But his eyes slowly became calm.

"Fine...," he said under his breath, lowering his stance and pointing the spear toward the monster.

Noah kicked off the ground and dashed towards the monster. The monster also charged toward him, its heavy body shaking the road with each step.

SCREEEEECHHH!!!

It opened its mouth and tried to bite him directly. Noah slid to the side at the last moment and thrust his spear forward.

Clang!

The spear tip hit the monster’s thick skin and slid sideways, failing to pierce deeply.

"So tough!" Noah gritted his teeth.

The monster swung its massive tail. Noah quickly jumped back.

BOOM!

The tail smashed into the road, cracking the stone surface and sending dust and small rocks flying everywhere. Noah immediately stretched his left hand toward the ground.

Using his innate ability, Ice Creation, he started to form a plain thin ice surface under the monster. Cold mana flowed out from his body into the ground. In an instant, a patch of ice formed under the monster’s feet.

The monster stepped on the ice and its balance shook slightly as its claws slipped on it.

’Now!’ His eyes narrowed.

Noah raised his hand. Mana moved from his core toward his extended hand. A blue-colored magic circle formed in the air. Multiple ice shards formed in front of the circle.

[Ice Shard]

The shards shot forward like arrows and struck the monster’s body.

Tak! Tak! Tak! Tak!

Some shards broke on impact, while a few pierced slightly into softer areas between the scales.

"As expected... spells cost less mana compared to my ability." Noah watched as he caused some damage to the monster.

Dark blood dripped from the small wounds.

SCREEEECHHHHH!!!

The monster roared in anger and opened its mouth again. Fire gathered inside its throat.

"Shit!"

A stream of fire shot toward Noah. He slammed his spear into the ground and jumped to the side while creating a wall of ice in front of him.

The flames hit the ice wall.

HISSSSSSS!

Steam exploded into the air as the ice melted rapidly, but it blocked enough of the fire for Noah to escape.

He rolled on the ground and stood up again, breathing heavily.

’Ice Shard doesn’t do enough damage... Ice spikes also not enough... I can’t penetrate its scales.’

The monster charged again, faster this time.

Noah waited for the monster to come closer. At the last moment, Noah slammed his feet onto the ground again.

This time, instead of just a small place, he froze a large area of the road completely. The monster ran onto the frozen surface at full speed. Its claws lost grip once again, just like before.

Its huge body slipped forward uncontrollably.

"Got you."

Noah stepped to the side and used all the strength in his body, mana flowing into his arms. He thrust his spear with full force toward the monster’s eye.

The spear shot forward like a bullet toward the monster’s yellow eye as its body slid across the ice toward him.

Crushed!

Splattered.

The tip of his spear blade tore inside the monster’s yellow eye. Blood gushed out from it like a fountain. Instantly, he pulled out the spear.

SCREEEECHH!

As the monster stopped sliding, it screamed loudly, this time in pain.

’Fuck! It’s also hard for me to move on ice.’

The monster stopped in one place and slammed its thick leg on the ice surface with great force.

BOOM!

The ice surface around it shattered. Its one yellow eye glared at Noah.

ROOAAARRRRR!

It dashed towards Noah again.

Noah did not back down. As the monster rushed toward him again, he extended his arm forward.

[Frost Bind]

Cold mana surged from his core into the ground beneath the monster. Ice suddenly formed around the monster’s two front legs, rapidly coating them and freezing them to the ground.

CRACK! CRACK!

Thick layers of ice wrapped around its legs, stopping its movement for a moment.

SCREEEECHHH!!!

The monster struggled, trying to move forward, but its legs were frozen in place.

"Now!"

Noah dashed forward, gripping his spear tightly. Mana flowed into his arms as he thrust the spear toward the monster’s neck, just under its head where the scales were slightly thinner.

Thrust!

The spear tip pierced into its flesh slightly, but not too deep. Dark blood flowed out from the wound.

SCREEEECHHHH!!!

The monster roared in pain and rage. Its long tail suddenly swung from the side at terrifying speed. Before Noah could fully pull back his spear, the tail slammed into his body.

BOOM!

"Ughhh!"

Noah’s body was thrown sideways, sliding across the road for several meters before he crashed and rolled on the ground.

He felt like some bones in his ribs were broken. A sharp pain shot from the side where he was hit.

He coughed, yet forced himself to stand up quickly with clenched teeth, holding his spear tightly. ’I don’t have time... Frost Bind won’t hold it for long.’

Noah stretched his free hand toward the air and began to use his innate ability again.
