Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 454: Kings Panorama
Daniel stammered in disbelief, "A demon? What, why would??"
Axel interjected, "He was sent here by the orders of Grandfather."
Daniel froze in place, not believing the words he had just heard, nor could he make heads or tails of what was going on.
Axel further clarified the situation for his father to understand, "Osiris came here to protect us. Grandfather should be in the Demon Empire if he is alive, but Osiris refuses to speak about it. So, I can’t be sure of this matter."
"And with his help, I planned all those things that made the comeback of our family, threatening Count Bram. And there was Count Halden, who was secretly a powerful assassin, the man who ambushed me, alongside many more powerful assassins. But they were all killed like dogs by Osiris," said Axel with a sneer.
"And the ambush was obviously orchestrated by both the Duchess and the Vex family together. When Duke Allen had called for us, if he dared to harm us truly, Osiris would have stepped in; however, though he is not as strong as a 5th-phase seeker. He did have the means to save our lives, I think," he iterated the hidden truth.
Axel gritted his teeth, "I was too furious about everything, all of it even. But attempting to do anything to the Duchess was too risky, since it might incur the King’s wrath. But it wasn’t the same for the Vex family. We had to plan it well. Very thoroughly, to make everything work."
"And it all did work out. We made it look like it was the work of the ghost race. The Vex family has now lost everything. It’s true that they still have much of their military power intact. But their foundation was never that. Without the core runecasters that run the family, they are nothing but an empty husk, ready to collapse at any moment." Axel smiled darkly.
There was a long stretch of silence as both father and son stood at the top of the Nomrad mansion, and the cold wind blew across their faces. In the wind, there were mixed ashes, for the destruction that had happened just a day before.
Daniel’s expression was complicated; so many things had happened, yet he knew of nothing. But things also made sense if there indeed was a powerful figure like that protecting Axel from the shadows. But the fact was that this figure was a DEMON, which was the most concerning thing.
Then there was the revelation that his father, Damien Nomrad, sent this Demon. Did that mean the old man was alive? Could he hope for that? Does that mean the old man had been protecting Axel from harm’s way all along? But why would he be in the Demon Empire? Could a human even live in a hellish place like that?
Daniel said while looking at his son, with an apologetic tone, "You went through so much, but I wasn’t able to do anything, son. I’m sorry for being so powerless, I’m sorry for being so useless."
Axel’s expression turned sour for a moment, but then his face eased as he asked, "Do you remember what I said to you the next day after I sparred with Vargas?"
"I said that you can leave everything to me from now on. I will take care of it, so you can relax and let me handle everything. Or do you not believe in me? Even after all of this? Dad..." asked Axel, as he looked at Daniel. For a moment, Daniel’s figure seemed to overlap with that of his own father back on earth, whom Axel had lost in a plane accident.
Axel didn’t remember much about him after all this time. But he was extremely caring towards him, always wearing a smile. The best father anyone could ask for.
Daniel smiled at him exactly in the same reassuring manner, "Of course, I trust you, Son. Who else would I trust in this world but you? But next time you do something big like this, please give me a heads-up. Okay?"
Axel nodded with some reluctance. Because he didn’t know if he could keep that word, but he would try to.
But then Daniel’s soft smile suddenly vanished, and he wore a crazed expression, "But I must say, son, that was extremely satisfying. Seeing that wretch who was one of the people behind the death of your mother, turn so helpless and broken. It felt so great that I could hardly contain my excitement. So, thank you for that."
Axel was flabbergasted. There was a look of immense, vindictive dark joy on Daniel’s face. Axel could not help but think, ’Wait, is that how I look when I’m smiling? Damn, does the sadistic nature run in our genes or something?’
Daniel then said in a solemn tone, "Axel, if nothing else, I must be the one to kill Mason and that damned princess."
Axel smiled, his eyes gleaming in the dark, "No, WE will kill them."
There was a moment of pause until Daniel laughed while patting his shoulder, "Yes, yes, that’s right. We will kill them. We will kill every last one that plotted against our family and slaughter every one that was directly or indirectly responsible for Myra’s death."

Far above the height of clouds, a mighty man floated in inverse, who blazed akin to the sun itself, radiating blinding yellow light. Long Golden hair that flowed opposite to the gravity like waves of bright sunlight.
His figure, his posture, and expression, everything felt surreal, as if he were no human. But something fundamentally greater. Even his subconscious thoughts changed the world around him, not in a way that was visible but in a way that made it almost impossible to notice.
As he stood on the inverted axis, looking up, he could see the entirety of the Suncrest great Kingdom and the nearby regions beyond. But when he looked in a certain specific direction, through jagged borders, there was an invisible but mighty barrier that blocked his vision from seeing through.
For the current strongest human to not be able to see through the barrier, one could only imagine what sort of monstrosity had put up such a thing.
The golden figure walked in slow steps, as if stepping across an inverted platform that gave him a steady foothold; it looked extremely bizarre, even unreal.
Suddenly, a change occurred in that beautiful scenario observed by the Beholder. A beastly bird cry shook the heavens, rippled every cloud, making a mess of white and blue, and somehow that chaotic mixture of both looked even more beautiful than before.
Sitting on the back of a 100-meter-long ginormous bird that flew through space at unfathomable speed, wearing an almost bored look, another figure of equal majesty to the golden figure appeared in the skies. He wore bronze, almost metal-like clothes, unlike the golden human; he gave off an ancient vibe of distant, almost forgotten time.
As the long stretch of time went on, for almost an eternity, neither of them spoke, and so the third one appeared, who had been right there all along, hidden in plain sight, almost unnoticeable to even the other two. Like an invisible mirage that blended with the very skies, he uttered, looking at the golden figure, who had been walking inverted, "Leonidas...."
The illuminating king of Suncrest finally stopped his steps, looking back at him and smiling, "Uh, Rugen, you’ve come. Why don’t you join me? The sight from this point is truly marvelous, and I almost get lost in it every time."
"Truly, the marvel of creation is just so wondrous, a pity that our human lineage is never meant to lord over it, or even a part of it," the King of Suncrest contemplated self-mockingly.
The man sitting atop the ginormous white bird-like creature, the ruler of the Samartan Great Kingdom, King Uzbek Samartan, looked at him and asked in a mocking tone, "So...?"
The lost expression on King Leonidas’s face changed as he let out a sigh burdened with the very weight of humanity; his face turned incomparably stern, and his figure shifted from the inverted position to the correct axis, standing on the same level as the two other kings.
Leonidas Suncrest stated in his kingly voice, "You both should already know what I would do. This continent offers no place for the weak. We can only stand here because of the display of unquestionable might portrayed by the past generations of the Valkyries."
He then iterated in a ruthless tone, "In this world of ours, Weakness is the greatest Sin, and Strength is the greatest Virtue."
The man who had been here from the start, he who had blended with the very world itself, spoke for the 2nd time, his voice carrying a sharp edge, "I am not here to listen to your nonsensical philosophy, Leonidas. The question you have been asked is very simple, is it not?"
King Leonidas gave the king of Blackvale an amused look, "You should already know what I intend to do, is that not why you are here in the first place, or do you assume that this king actually needs to convince either of you for me to take action?"
Meanwhile, King Rugen Blackvale scoffed. His majestic voice sent the serene world into violent ripples. "You really love the sound of your own voice, don’t you?"
King Uzbek gazed at the Suncrest king with a vicious stare. The ginormous white bird beneath him flapped its wings, producing wind powerful enough to leave shallow cuts in the space layer itself.
"If you don’t really need us, then you would have made your move without needing to wait for us. So, let’s talk less nonsense, Leonidas, and do what we are here to do," repeated the King of Samartan coldly.
