Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 322: Conered
Grey vines shot out from behind the two wrapping themselves onto their body.
"Fuck!"
Holen cursed as he got pulled by the vines, unable to do anything. The sword that he stole from Oven stabbed the grey vines but all it did was scratch the thing. Like he theorizes it must be something to do with mystic force.
"Give me the sword!!"
Oven yelled out as the vines tightened even more than before. Hearing this, Holen threw the sword, and the knight, luckily caught it mid-air. Although had limited movement, he was confident that the vines would be cut because he had done it successfully before. However, the result was the same as Holen’s. The grey viens simply shrugged the hit off like the sword wasn’t hitting it at all.
They could do nothing.
Both of them watched as the scepter of death fell from above and gently hovered above the ground. Athan walked over at a leisurely pace and picked up the staff. As he inspected it, he noticed that while it wasn’t particularly glamorous, it certainly had an ominous presence.
"You’re not sneaky"
Athan hadn’t forgotten about another person in the room who could ruin his plan. Jell, who was sneaking up on Athan, felt he had been noticed and began to run. However, despite his quick pace, he simply couldn’t match the vine’s incredible speed.
His run was stopped by the grey vines the moment Athan called it out. Jell tried to avoid the incoming vines and he was successful, once, before he got caught by the vines.
"Finally no, more hindrance"
Athan held the scepter in his hand. His long life was about to end. It made him happy, and he genuinely smiled like an idiot while fiddling with the scepter, trying to get it to work.
The vines then formed into human shapes and came closer to Athan. It didn’t care about the green gem that was visible when it transformed. All of the people were incapacitated and Kanku couldn’t be less of a threat to them.
"Keep your word"
The vine spoke with a jagged voice, sounding less feminine than it had before, having lost to Nena. Athan chuckled softly as he observed the vine’s female form. He realized he didn’t have to keep his word; no matter how terrifying the vine appeared, he could leave without facing any consequences. He was immortal, and he possessed the release rune.
But he didn’t want to do it.
"I think it needed mystic power, give it a try"

Holen handed the thing over to the Mother. Its vines snaked onto his hand and took the scepter. The dark skull that’s decorated on it tip of the scepter felt rather haunted. The vines poked and prodded the scepter before using some mystic on the thing.
The Gem on the skull shines bright telling Holena and the others that something might happened. The vines moved the scepter close to Jell’s face.
"NO!"
Holen and Oven yelled out, horrified by what was about to happen. The vine’s faceless imitation of a human body felt like it produced a smile. The scepter came closer to Jell as his life flashed before his eyes.
"Please, don’t kill me!"
"Then who’d I test this scepter on?" The vines said "Any suggestion?"
"...." Jell felt his heart beat faster, and his head looked through the people. Holen, Oven and Kanku... None of these, he wanted to condemn to death. However, there’s one clear choice among the rest of them.
"The kid..." He muttered in a low voice, not to let Holen and Jell hear his decision.
"Oh? I don’t quite hear ya~?" The vines said with a playful voice, clearly messing with humans again.
"Kill the kid"
Jell said it louder but not loud enough to reach the kid sitting scared in the corner of the room. The vines swayed enthusiastically. Holen and Jell’s eyes widen, Holen could see why Jell made that decision but Jell on the other hand completely lost it.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?"
"Shut up!" Jell yelled out "We know him the least!"
"Then why did you save him before"
"This and that are not the same!"
"No, it is!"
The two continue to argue while the vine watches on. Satisfied with this reaction.
"Stop!" It jagged voice sounded through the room again, silencing both Jell and Oven. They both looked at the vines again.
"Let spice it up." The vines brought them closer to Kanku who by this point heard some of the argument and was very scared right now. "Say it to his face"
"....."
Jell looked at the kid shivering in the corner and felt his heart dropped. Kanku looked like he was about to cry right there and he was the one that caused it no... it was the vines but he was still the one that chose this.
"Please.... let me live"
Kanku begged for his life looking at both the vines and Jell with teary eyes. There was nothing he could do, no idea, and no amount of mystic power gonna save him. Even his necklace that was supposed to be with him was in Oven’s hand. They all lied to him!
His mother was right, the empire people were not good. They lied and they stole stuff. It was a mistake trusting the empire people to come here.
"Stop it, don’t waste any more time just test the scepter and be done with it."
Athan commented after watching the entire drama. He enjoyed it a little at first, but as it progressed, it became increasingly boring. Perhaps he didn’t want to see a fellow human being tortured to such an extent, though he couldn’t pinpoint exactly why.
"Fine"
A little dissatisfaction slipped through its voice, the play had to be put out for later. Once it was free of Athan control that is. It put mystic power in the scepter again, this time the gem grew brighter than before. The skull came close to Kanku’s face as the mystic stirred up.
"NO!"
Oven yelled out again, refusing to let the kid die. His only option now was to throw his sword at the scepter, but that plan was thwarted when the vine detected his movement. It turned its head for just a moment and continued with the scepter.
Boom!
The sound of an explosion echoed through the room. The impact caused the vines and everyone surrounding them to be thrown in different directions. Holen felt shocked. He had expected the scepter to simply kill the kid in silence. No, this kind of explosion was far beyond what he had anticipated.
Holen gathered himself. The explosion transformed the room from an old, well-maintained ruin into a shattered space filled with rubble. He glanced at Atahn, observing his reaction; from the shock on his face, he could tell that this wasn’t supposed to happen.
He then turned his attention to the center of the explosion, turned out it was not even the scepter that caused the explosion from the look of it.
From thin air, a hand slipped through the air like a mouse trying to smell for food. Then another bony hand followed it and placed itself together. Slowly, the hand pulled the very reality apart and revealed a squared-shaped door.
Standing there was the thing that they dreaded more than the vines. The skeleton that terrorized their journey had entered the ruins.
"You think you could hide from me? The emperor??" The skeleton muses "Do I look like a peasant to you people that a mere dimension door could stop me?"
Athan and the vines couldn’t say anything, but their mind worked fast. They did not want to face this individual at all, the skeleton was a pinnacle of strength that even the mother at full power would not be equal.
It even imagined pitting this thing against the Pope but couldn’t find a direct winner. Moreover, she didn’t even see the emperor using a single power other than controlling his raw mysticism.
"The scepter?"
Athan asked the mother, however, just a single glaced told him that the scepter was no longer in The vine’s hand. His eyes swept the room trying to find the thing that got lost in the explosion.
"Looking for this?"
The skeleton raises his hand and a second later the scepter also rises from the rubble and comes directly into his bony hand.
"It’s mine, and by the way here’s how you used it"
The gem on the skull then shone brighter. Holen gulped down his throat, trying to muster up the courage to run or do something. However, he knew deep down that they were not getting out of this alive.
The scepter’s skull opened its mouth, and finally, something happened. A dark cloud rushed out of the skull, filling the area beside it. Then, it could form into a shape that resembled a human before the dark of it gave it a definition.
A human who looked no older than thirty came out of the scepter. He looked rather unassuming for a thing that came out of something called death scepter.
"Your Highness? how long has it been"
"Long enough for a sun to be real"
