"You’re one of them aren’t you?" She questioned with a weak voice, terrified to her core the moment she saw his eyes.

"One of what?"

"The Primordials." She replied.

In this world of supernatural abnormalities, the Primordials referred to humans who possessed or rather who has a primordial being within them. Xander for example can be referred to a Primordial since he had a Primordial Essen-beast sealed within him.

However the same couldn’t be said for Rai, he didn’t have a Primordial Essen-beast or a Primordial being sealed within him. He just has a contract with a Primordial being, the contract of the Shadow Dragon.

"A Primordial?" He asked, riddled by confusion.

"That’s right, humans who have a Soul-Beast sealed within them. Those terrifying beings were the worst thing mankind had ever witnessed in the history of our existence." She responded, dating back to the time period where the first ever Soul-King discovered the Primordial Earth Soul-Beast, Gaia and sealed him away.

It turned out before the Soul-king sealed him away, he unleashed a chaos unforgotten to those who kept this knowledge hidden.

"It all started fifty years ago where the first ever Soul-King discovered a being that transcended the concept of all possibilities. The Primordial Earth Essen-Beast, hidden away in a sacred forest, it detested the presence of a human in it’s sanctuary and from there arose the most unforgettable destruction mankind had ever seen." As she spoke, Rai paid rapt attention to every detail.

"There began the great Soul battle which earned the first ever S-rank Soul-Hunter the title of the Soul-king as only him was able to singlehandedly subdue and seal the beast."

"He wasn’t able beat it?" Rai asked with curiosity, from what he had heard about the Soul-king, he is supposedly the most powerful Soul-User in history.

"It’s not that he can’t beat it, he couldn’t. Primordial Essen-beast are living beings created out of pure Soul-Energy. They are the embodiment of energy themselves, even if someone manages to kill it, the energy would only accumulate overtime and give birth to the supernatural phenomenon we know as Essen-Beasts."

"As fascinating as it is, that doesn’t answer my question on what you want the Essen-Beasts for." Rai said hastily, getting more impatient each passing second as her life faded little by little.

"Ah, that’s right. What is the goal of the secret organization the Inner Souls " It wasn’t difficult to tell that the emergence of the Inner Souls was linked to the appearance of the Essen-Beasts.

There are only two records of the Inner Souls activities in history, the first dating back to the times of the first Soul-king which after they disappeared from everyone’s sight. The second, not long ago.

"Not long after the battle between the Soul-king and the Primordial Earth Essen-Beast. A bad omen fell upon the four great kingdoms, the energy from the Essen-Beast attracted something dreadful, something that transcended the concept of incomprehensible. A being whose power and might is physically unmatched." As she spoke, her voice sank little by little as she began succumbing to the effects of the everlasting slumber, death.

"The Primordial Demons.." Rai muttered, having an idea of what exactly she was talking about.

"So you’ve come across them before? Then you must have an idea of how terrifyingly powerful they all are. Beings that transcended the concept of might, they first descended after the Soul-king had sealed the Earth Essen-Beast away. It was a one sided battle which claimed the life of the Soul-king. To prevent such from happening again, a secret organization was formed with two objectives guiding our principles." As she spoke, her voice became more calmer each passing second, her vision more blurry than it was.

"What objectives?" He asked quickly as he could see her time was almost up.

She chuckled softly in response, she had said all she could for the time being, after all she was still ever loyal to her organization.

"Rai Voltia huh?" She chuckled softly as her eyes closed slowly, losing all the energy she had left to leave it open. "At least I died knowing there’s someone who can give humanity a fighting chance. If you want to learn the truth about Soul-Energy, then don’t die till you face the head of the Inner Souls organization." With her final words, she took her last breath before succumbing to death’s humble embrace.

As he did so, he felt the surge of energy flowing through him, his Soul-Energy had shot up even higher, his physical appearance became more defined and his height increased by six inches. His jawline became more polished and the V-shaped alignment in his lower section became completely visible.

"I have accumulated enough points than before, going forward the twin StormFangs will become irrelevant to me, not that it has been useful to me anyways. Store."

As he summoned the translucent screen that contained the list of items available for purchase in the system, he scrolled through the available options.

He continued scrolling further through the list of available options.

The more he scrolled the more he realized that at the level he was at now, he’d never be able to purchase any of these weapons. He eventually ended up buying supplies like coats, clothes and also other items the system provided for him.

"Rai!" A voice called out to him, turning his attention away from the system and towards the progenitor of the voice. As he stared into the vast space, he found Xander racing towards him.

"Where is she?" He questioned, wanting payback for what she did to him. To his utmost surprise, he found her laying on the ground, devoid of life.

"Your wounds have healed, I guess it’s a privilege you got from having a Primordial Essen-beast sealed within you. However you arrived a little too late, I’ve already taken care of her but I did find out some things before she-" Before he could complete his statement, he found the right hand of Xander approaching him like a speeding bullet.

At the last second, he vanished out of sights, moving at a incomprehensible speed that in the eyes of Xander he was merely a blur.

’What!?’ Xander screamed in his thoughts, he was sure that he travelled at his fastest speed yet Rai appeared like a blur to him.

’What the hell is going on? This cannot be the movements of that loser. How is a D-rank Soul-Hunter able to move that fast that even I have a difficult time seeing him?’ He thought, turning to his back to face Rai as he sensed him behind him.

"How?" He asked.

"How what?" Rai replied.

"How did you heal so quickly? And how the hell are you able to move that fast?" Upon closer observation, Xander noticed that not only did his agility increase tenfolds, but his physical appearance as well improved in a short amount of time. He was now way taller than him, more muscular than him and the chief amongst all more intimidating.
