Extra's Strategy: Cultivate Protagonists, Become Invincible-Chapter 219: Breakthrough Mania
It was perhaps the most eventful day in Han Xuhan’s life as a legitimate outer court disciple of the Crimson Snow Sect.
For months, he had been toiling in this sect on his path of cultivation, bogged down by numerous obstacles and setbacks. To him, apparent progress and significant breakthroughs were as rare as qilin feathers.
But today was different. Today, the stocks on qilin feathers have crashed, perhaps because of the long-running accumulation.
The very first breakthrough of the day was Tun Shi Tian’s, who reached the third layer of the Artificial Meridian Creation Technique. And Zhanxian’s entry into the Spiritual Bone Arts had followed an hour later.
Although Zhanxian’s breakthrough had an abnormal effect on his foundation tower, Han Xuhan hadn’t stopped the minions from continuing their crazy cultivation marathon session.
And the result of his reckless investment did not disappoint him. After spending several hours devouring cultivation resources with a single-minded focus, Tun Shi Tian achieved another impressive milestone!
Zeroth Layer of Physique Transformers Realm! Done and dusted! The owl truly had talent worthy of protagonists.
Naturally, Han Xuhan felt that familiar tremor inside his spiritual world the moment his second minion succeeded in laying its foundation. He was ready for it, this time, ready to run a routine inspection of his foundation tower.
Sure enough, following the same route as Zhanxian, Tun Shi Tian’s Zeroth layer foundation had created a separate, trailer-sized ’room’.
Now, only two sides of the main foundation tower remained intact. Zhanxian’s room was on the left, Tun Shi Tian’s room stood on the right, and all the letters of laws on the walls were forced to move to the intact parts of the tower.
Tun Shi Tian was in a mood of celebration, hooting and flying all over his small room. But then he heard Zhanxian’s laughter from the other side of the tower.
"Look at you, birdie! What’s so good about that simple birdcage?"
Tun Shi Tian flew into a rage, yelling back, "Human scum! You dare call my foundation tower a birdcage?!"
"Oh, I was wrong, let me correct myself. It’s not even a birdcage. At least a birdcage would have some decorations, a door, and a swing. Your room doesn’t even have walls on all four sides, hahaha!"
"As if your foundation is any better!"
"Of course it’s better," Zhanxian said smugly. It was evident that he was waiting for this very opportunity, leading the stupid owl up to it.
"I have a jade pillar in my part of the foundation tower, strengthening it beyond compare. Even our Master’s original foundation isn’t as stable as mine, hahaha! Can’t you see how awesome it looks?"
Han Xuhan stared at Tun Shi Tian, waiting for the stupid owl to come up with a neat response, but the owl really didn’t have that kind of wit in him. As their master, it was his responsibility to step in and make the match more balanced.
"Tun Shi Tian, I knew you had it in you to lay a quick foundation. That’s why I said you were going to start cultivating the Spiritual Bones Art from today. Come outside and try to catch up to Zhanxian’s progress, hehehe." 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Both minions seemed stunned for a good moment before a wide, predatory grin appeared on Tun Shi Tian’s skeletal face. Zhanxian was left spluttering as Han Xuhan disappeared from the tower. Moments later, both minions were summoned back to the real world as well.
"Keep cultivating! Go, go, go!"
While the minions greedily sucked qi into their bones, Han Xuhan went back to one of his side projects—the goal of becoming a law cultivator.
From his frequent meetings with Qian Yun in the artificial realm of laws, he had more or less learned which letters he had to expel from his foundation tower to cleanse it fully.
Recognizing the higher level letters wasn’t actually that hard either. But his progress so far could not be called significant.
He simply had too much on his plate; too many techniques to study, too many martial arts to try, and too many mundane matters to attend to. Added to the chaos was his meridian disability, which kept his speed of Mystic cultivation to a bare minimum.
Fortunately, expelling the unsuitable letters of laws from his foundation tower didn’t really require much qi activity. He simply had to meditate, focus, and occasionally rely on bursts of qi to fuel certain spiritual actions inside the tower.
Things were going smoothly at first, but a few minutes into the tedious task, he made a shocking discovery.
The number of law letters on the walls of his foundation tower was too few compared to yesterday. The math didn’t add up!
Because the letters were always moving and crashing into each other like a swarm of mad flies, it was hard to count them accurately. But over time, he had managed to get a fair guess about their total number.
"At least one fourth of the letters are gone! And most of them might have been superior-level letters. What could be the reason?"
Han Xuhan looked around the tower, and his gaze fell on the latest anomalies, Zhanxian’s jade pillar and Tun Shi Tian’s new room.
"The law letters were repeatedly forced to move out of the portions of the tower where my minions established their individual foundations. This means that these extra foundations inside my tower are rejecting the letters..."
It made sense in a way. These letters of laws were used to build a law cultivator’s foundation. Naturally, they’d not be compatible with other types of foundations.
"Since there’s a relationship of incompatibility, perhaps the rapid breakthroughs of my minions today have forced some of the letters out of my tower?!"
Han Xuhan felt like this was the only plausible answer to the mystery. The heavenly order controlling these kinds of spiritual developments inside a cultivator’s consciousness clearly followed certain rules and logic.
The basic rules were known all over the world of cultivation. But the rules he was triggering right now had to be far too rare. He was practically testing the limits of the heavenly order!
Whatever these intricate rules might be, they weren’t harming him. So he could simply note down his theories and try to get them verified by someone experienced, like Sect Master Xuan Zi or Elder Kong Ye.
He spent a long time probing the remaining letters on the walls. A summary of his findings slowly formed in his mind. He even found the main weakness in his theory.
"A few days ago, when Zhanxian had laid his zeroth layer foundation, why didn’t I notice this phenomenon?"
After a moment of thinking, he found an answer to the question.
Perhaps he hadn’t noticed it due to his own inexperience in dealing with the letters, or because Zhanxian’s foundation alone wasn’t enough to create such pressure on the letters.
"Is it because the path of laws is an orthodox cultivation route that multiple foundations of unorthodox sources were needed to weaken it this far? Ahhh, screw it. I’m not qualified to be theorizing on matters so far up the esoteric scale..."
His focus returned to the job at hand—cleansing the remaining unsuitable letters from his tower. It was going to be far too easy from this moment!
