Extra's Strategy: Cultivate Protagonists, Become Invincible-Chapter 89: Everyone Gets Screwed
Chapter 89: Everyone Gets Screwed
Han Xuhan wasn’t particularly surprised by the twists and turns that took place after their teleportation. Part of it was his plan, after all.
When their vision returned, they found themselves out of the stadium, ejected into the fog gently the way one would leap down from the top of a staircase.
Upon landing on his feet, Han Xuhan realized that there were a few tiny orbs containing minuscule law fragments hovering around them like satellites, maintaining a radius of about two meters.
The ever-present, all-invasive fog could not get past this small, spherical area created by the circling orbs. For as long as these tiny orbs spun around them, they would be safe from the poison, it seemed.
Relieved upon finding this extra layer of protection, Han Xuhan took a good look at their surroundings.
They were standing in front of a small signboard, barely visible in the fog. It read:
"You have completed the task required for the primary entrance into the Holy Land of Laws successfully. From this point forth, you are an Outer Court disciple of this Holy Land of Laws!
"Your soul and foundation tower have been imprinted upon with the law fragments you have learned so far. In case you betray or harm the interests of the Holy Land, your spiritual world shall be destroyed and your soul shall be obliterated. Have a good day."
"What the fuck?!"
"I had a suspicion that something like this was gonna happen."
Qian Yun and Han Xuhan spoke out in unison after they got a good look at the writing on the signboard. There was an evil-looking smiley face at the end of the notice. It made their blood boil. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
This new twist of events again answered a crucial question Han Xuhan had been pondering. If any super-powerful cultivator created a low-level avatar or used a lackey to mess with this place, they would be actually screwing themselves.
Whoever managed to get past the first stage would be turned into a disciple of the Holy Land of Laws, which in turn would make them unable to betray the Holy Land in their lifetime.
What a simple solution! Han Xuhan had actually been foolish enough to believe that he had managed to reap a fortune in a crisis by learning the language of laws, like those xianxia protagonists.
Turns out that shit was a scam to infiltrate his spiritual world in the disguise of a cultivation technique!
There was no medicine for regret. So Han Xuhan didn’t brood over it too much and turned to look at his friend. The technique of using laws was honestly pretty cool from his point of view.
At least he wouldn’t need to physically brawl with murderhobos if he could gain some mastery on it.
"Check your foundation tower. See anything weird?"
Qian Yun had already gotten a gist of what to expect. He immediately sat down and entered a state of deep meditation before returning a few seconds later with a gasp.
"There are hundreds of those alphabets inside my spiritual world. The entire book has been filled up! Heavens!"
"Hehe- wait, book?"
Han Xuhan instantly noticed the oddity. Why would there be a book in his spiritual world?
Qian Yun snorted.
"You do know that our perception and imagination shape our spiritual world, right? My foundation was constructed in the shape of a book. The different techniques I practice get converted into different Chapters of the book."
"....." Han Xuhan lost his voice for a moment, his thoughts turning chaotic from trying to imagine the scene. He did learn a bit about this, but the restrictions on his attendance to the elite lectures had stopped him from the more esoteric aspects of it.
Qian Yun’s foundation-building system sounded kind of awesome! If he had known this was an option too, he’d have tried it!
Elder Kong had been too effective in his casual speech about foundations resembling buildings.... tsk~
"Master, how did we get here?" Zhanxian enquired with genuine curiosity.
Han Xuhan felt like a movie villain who was about to waste everyone’s time by explaining his detailed schemes. But it felt good to flex. It wasn’t every day that he managed to use all of his intelligence and do something cool... stupid, but still cool.
"Little Zhanxian, remember the law fragments I wrote on the paper and the wall?"
Zhanxian nodded in a confused manner. He wasn’t able to comprehend the texts on the walls like his summoner. The so-called law fragments made no sense to him. But he did see Han Xuhan writing three separate law fragments.
"Well, the first one said, upon activation, that particular law fragment would punish the current occupants of the circle of laws by ejecting them as far as possible from there.
"Since the stadium can transfer people in and out, suppress the poisonous properties of the fog, as well as having a powerful source that constantly keeps the circle of laws on its wall active, it shouldn’t be too difficult to teleport all of them outside the fog, safe and sound."
"Who are you trying to fool? You were just scared of competition and wanted to use them as meat shields, just in case your law fragment triggered a punishment.
"Moreover, what did this Shen Kai guy do to you? And don’t try to convince me that that’s your real name. You’ve been trying to screw him over ever since we’ve met." Qian Yun interjected.
"...Ignore such small details, my friend. Newly made friendships often are broken due to scrutiny," Han Xuhan rebutted and continued his explanation.
"The second law fragment on the paper was the source behind this," Han Xuhan said, pointing at the spinning orbs around them that kept the fog at bay.
"It stated that whoever helps the circle of laws vanquish its invaders shall be awarded with protection from the poison in their bodies. So the stadium not only suppressed the poison inside us, it also helped us suppress the poison outside by creating these extra law fragments."
"That was a really, really, wise idea. My imagination is never this far-fetched," Qian Yun said as he ran his eyes over their surroundings.
Han Xuhan beamed like a magician appreciating an energetic applause and continued.
"Of course, without a proper source, those law fragments I wrote are just random scribbling on the paper. The walls contain a mysterious source that keeps its laws active. It also prevents us from indirectly from using a similar source to activate our own law fragment.
"But that’s where the third law fragment, the one I carved on the wall, comes into play, stating that all newly made law fragments within the stadium will be activated using the same source that’s running the original circle of laws, which is the source inside the walls!
"Since this new law fragment was carved on the wall, it activated Mu Ran’s law fragment without needing a new source. And Mu Ran’s Law fragment can teleport anybody who has mastered a few letters of the language of laws, which included me and Brother Qian Yun at that moment!
"That’s how we got teleported out here while the rest of our competitors got kicked out of the stadium, probably back to the starting point."
Han Xuhan finished his explanation with a swish of his sleeves, feeling quite suave.
