Chapter 98: Supreme Demon’s Reputable Deeds

After Han Xuhan made his proposal, a grave silence fell over their surroundings.

Xuanyuan Zhou had gone stock still from shock. Mu Ran looked dazed beyond conscious thoughts. Qian Yun’s body was shivering nonstop because of the effort going behind restraining his laughter.

Their ’newly acquired helpers’ were staring at Han Xuhan with their mouths agape. Among the five of them, two were girls, and both had looks of abject horror etched on their faces.

"Let’s do what, Xuhan?" Xuanyuan Zhou asked, a cold undertone surfacing in her voice. She even forgot to address him the way she preferred to.

"I said, we should take our clothes off and exchange them. After all, it’s best to keep our original identity secret. If we change our attire and impersonate disciples from random sects every time we meet new opponents, no one will be able to figure out our real origin, even if they know our names.

"This way, even if somebody influential harbors a grudge against us, they’ll never be able to trace us back to our origins. Think about it, we can have so much fun playing mind games against our enemies this way!"

The silence that fell this time was even more severe, only to be broken by a squeaky sound of laughter coming from Qian Yun, who was now squatting on the ground, clutching his heaving stomach.

"Well, that’s a good suggestion!" One of the female cultivators who had been venomously glaring at Han Xuhan exclaimed, relief coloring her tone and face.

Qian Yun’s snickering laughter turned into a fully blown howl. Mu Ran shook his head and showed another thumbs up to Xuhan.

"Great idea, underling! Let’s strip! But don’t you dare peek at my body!"

"....Why would I peek at your body?" Han Xuhan shouted in mock indignation. "You’re a man! I like women!"

Mu Ran didn’t look phased at all by his instinctive slip-up. He doubled down on it, saying, "When I look at the mirror, I see a handsomeness that transcends mortal boundaries. And I fear a pervert like you might just lose yourself upon bearing witness to my raw manliness."

"....."

Han Xuhan was so stunned by that narcissistic response that he forgot to protest against the pervert tag.

Xuanyuan Zhou slapped a palm over her forehead and sighed. She had always wondered why Han Xuhan got along with Mu Ran so well in the sect. Now she felt like she had glimpsed a side to their personalities that really complemented each other.

The other team was ready to exchange clothes and sect badges, so there was no issue with proceeding forward with his plan. Xuanyuan Zhou exchanged her robe with one of the female cultivators while the young men shuffled half a dozen robes among their two teams.

The female cultivator who had exchanged her clothes with Xuanyuan Zhou noticed Han Xuhan staring at her again. It made her skin crawl in fear.

What was this creepy guy up to again?

"...Erm, fellow cultivator, is there something else you want to say?" She asked in trepidation.

"Indeed..." Han Xuhan muttered as loudly as possible, attracting the attention of all nearby. ƒгeewebnovёl_com

"I was thinking, perhaps after taking off our clothes, we could have had even more fun! A different kind of fun, if you know what I’m talking about."

The female cultivator felt the urge to roll her eyes. She could guess that another innuendo was coming. She really detested this type of men who loved to crack dirty jokes for no reason.

"But it’s a pity...that I, Supreme Demon Shen Kai, do not have the necessary equipment for that sort of fun. It was a necessary sacrifice for the pursuit of my dao. To be a supreme demon, the weakness of flesh must be discarded!"

Added as an afterthought, Han Xuhan regretfully gazed down at his crotch and patted the area gently.

The surroundings fell silent again. Not a single soul in the defeated party could tell whether this one was a joke or not. It certainly didn’t seem to come at the expense of their dignity!

It was Supreme Demon Shen Kai whose dignity had been trampled upon.

Han Xuhan felt really satisfied with himself, observing their unsure faces.

This expedition outside the sect was slowly turning from a life-and-death struggle into a relaxed stroll. He had numerous bodyguards now, and almost all of them were expendable.

Qian Yun could still be trusted on most matters. Zhanxian still didn’t know about the new and permanent horror theme in his foundation tower. Shen Kai was set to get screwed massively in the future unless he changed his name.

All was well.

Continuing on their way to the center of the foggy region, they met more opponents, most of them cunning and powerful. But their sheer advantage in numbers was enough to beat everybody into submission.

Han Xuhan had great fun along the way. Each time they captured their next batch of slaves, he would shout something along the lines of, "WE ARE FROM THE XYZ SECT! WE OWN THIS TURF! STRIP OR DIE!"

Then they’d force those beaten cultivators to sign contracts of secrecy and submission.

Borrowing Shen Kai’s name, Han Xuhan did his best to make all of their slaves hate him passionately. It was a different kind of fun seeing them squirm in discomfort and revulsion while muttering Shen Kai’s name in low voices.

Bound by the contract, none of them could harm him here. So Han Xuhan had no qualms about attracting so much hatred.

So refreshing!

They even met and defeated Brother Feng Jun and his small team, who had reached deeper than anyone else within the fog.

His group had been furiously battling a horde of monstrous zombies. Han Xuhan and Mu Ran had gladly ’rushed over to help them’. Of course, due to their disguises, none among the other party had recognized them.

While the name Shen Kai was familiar to them, they simply assumed it was just a coincidence due to the sheer difference between that weak fellow they had met outside the portal and their hateful, devilish captor.

There were also numerous weirdly mutated zombies in the deeper region of the foggy area. Thankfully, Xuanyuan Zhou’s undead suppressing technique was powerful enough to make them as obedient as a loyal dog.

Eventually, their initial small group had grown into a massive combined army of cultivators and undead. If the guy who had created the testing ground ever saw the state his ingenious challenges were being reduced to, he’d probably pull out his own hair in frustration.

What was supposed to be a stage full of intense battles had become a sorrowful long march.

A dim purple light infused with the fog lit their way ahead. The fog itself was becoming thinner. Even Han Xuhan could vaguely see dozens of meters ahead.

It took them more than a couple of hours to reach the end of the road, where no more emerald orbs could be seen.

Instead, the violet-coloured orbs were slowly starting to become more distinct and frequent. What made them more sure of the fact that they had passed through the second stage of the challenge was a pretty obvious clue, visible on the ground in front of them.

One look at it made Han Xuhan certain that the third phase of the challenge was not going to be so easy.
