Fairy, Don't Be Afraid, I Am Blind-Chapter 34 - 31: Senior Brother, Are You Really Helping Me with Qi Movement? (Part 2)
In fact, she had already seen the old plaque hidden beneath the main gate. Before the Mandarin Duck Sword Sect, there were clearly six large characters: "Heaven and Earth, Yin and Yang, United Joy." Instead of these six characters being a prefix to the Mandarin Duck Sword Sect, it’s more like the sect’s name is a suffix to these six characters!
Which proper Sword Sect would write "Mandarin Duck Sword Sect" so small and "Heaven and Earth, Yin and Yang, United Joy" so large!
When she first saw it, she thought she had mistaken the path and accidentally strayed. She intended to take her things and scurry back to apologize to her older sister. But seeing this seemingly upright blind man being so kind and imparting all he knew to her, she couldn’t bring herself to leave. She muddled through three years, thinking back then she was just scaring herself, that this Sword Sect had long changed its ways and turned a new leaf.
It wasn’t until this morning when You Su whispered into her ear, "If you want to learn how to control Profound Qi, come to my room tonight," that she realized this sanctimonious blind man was waiting for the grapes to fully ripen before picking them!
Ji Lingruo was even more embarrassed and annoyed seeing You Su’s silent demeanor. Wasn’t it him who invited her in the morning? Why is it that she gathered the courage to come, yet now he has nothing to say?
"Hey, didn’t... didn’t you say you wanted to teach me how to control Profound Qi?"
"Yes, Junior Sister, are you ready?"
You Su stood calmly and upright, yet in Ji Lingruo’s eyes, he seemed like a famished wolf ready to pounce.
"What... what do I need to prepare? Wasn’t it just coming alone?" The young girl wrung her fingers nervously and questioned back.
"A sword, did you not bring your sword?"
"Huh? We... we still need a sword?" The young girl’s eyes widened, her cheeks flushed as if she thought of something. She thought this vile Senior Brother was deliberately humiliating her, bit her lip, and stomped her foot, saying, "You! Don’t you already have a sword!"
Saying this, she glanced sideways at a certain place on him.
"That works too, then you can use my sword." You Su took the Mo Song Sword from beside the bed and handed it to Ji Lingruo.
The young girl incredulously took the Mo Song Sword, her lips reddening as if ready to drip blood. She wished she could quickly cover her face and hide in a hole, refusing to admit it was her imagination running wild leading to messy thoughts. Even more infuriating was that You Su didn’t explain earlier.
But she also felt something was amiss and thought she could salvage her pride, so she asked directly: "Hey, who practices sword inside a room?"
Practicing sword in a room, what kind of sword are you practicing?
Unexpectedly, after she asked, it turned out to be You Su’s turn to feel awkward and embarrassed. His skin wasn’t all that fair, yet it showed a noticeable blush. You Su clenched his fist by his mouth and coughed, his body twitching slightly in visible nervousness.
Ji Lingruo, seeing You Su’s flustered look, felt as if she had won a major victory and flashed a triumphant smile. She was convinced she wasn’t making wild assumptions; this pretentious guy indeed wanted to do that thing! She completely forgot that if matters unfolded the way she imagined, who would be the one to suffer...
"Why aren’t you speaking now?" Ji Lingruo said haughtily. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Ahem, to learn to control Profound Qi, Junior Sister naturally needs to begin with familiar Swordsmanship," You Su said, somewhat blushing, "It’s simply that this method is a bit inconvenient to practice outside. If Junior Sister wants to learn, please do not mind, considering it’s all for Junior Sister’s path."
Ji Lingruo was taken aback by his words and stammered: "Then... how exactly will you teach?"
If it was such a significant matter as her path, what was there to be shy about?
You Su composed himself, discarding all stray thoughts, and spoke evenly:
"I’ve observed, Junior Sister, your talent for sword is indeed exceptional; you’re quick to grasp the moves. However, the major issue is your inability to control your Profound Qi. The reason it doesn’t flow to your sword lies in it dissipating as it’s about to leave your body. Before, I hoped Junior Sister could understand it independently, but perhaps this isn’t your strength. In my view, Junior Sister might need some external aid."
"How to help?"
"From some residual texts in our cultivation techniques, I found a viable path. I will use external Qi Movement to guide the flow of Profound Qi within Junior Sister. With each Sword move Junior Sister performs, I will lead it, traversing its rightful path entirely. Over time, Junior Sister and the Qi within will remember this flow, allowing Junior Sister to control Profound Qi freely."
This technique, no different than a child learning to walk, was an inspiration You Su derived from teachings not typically imparted. Dual Cultivation doesn’t necessarily have to involve actual union to qualify as such.
"There will inevitably be some physical contact, hope Junior Sister doesn’t mind. If you are unwilling, I will think of another way."
Ji Lingruo hesitated, her inability to control Profound Qi indeed had its own troubles for her. Now, there was an opportunity offering a rebirth-like chance before her; how could she refuse? Besides, if it’s You Su, she didn’t really mind...
"It won’t hurt, right...?"
"?"
"I will control the pressure, not only ensuring it doesn’t hurt but is quite comfortable."
"It... it better be effective! Otherwise, I’ll hold you accountable!"
"Rest assured, Junior Sister, I am ninety percent confident."
"Then why aren’t you coming over already?"
Holding the Mo Song Sword, which felt somewhat heavy for her, Ji Lingruo watched You Su approaching, her heart sinking to the bottom. She felt danger inching closer, her body began to tremble gently, and she couldn’t help regretting internally:
How could there be such a foolish girl like me in the world? A hungry wolf tells me boiling water isn’t to cook me but to bathe me, and I naively believe him!
