Chapter 151 - Ch 151 : Weakness

The black sword, its surface covered in cracks, shimmered with a deep, chilling glow.

Just a single glance at it was enough to evoke a bone-deep coldness that seemed to stem from the very depths of one's soul.

Noel stared blankly at the Judgment Sword in Edolas Noel's hand, a complex and indescribable emotion spreading through his heart—bitterness, nostalgia.

He had never expected to see this sword again.

Thirteen years ago, that family had used this very sword against him.

But in the end, they had underestimated the power of a God, and the sword had been blasted into a dimensional rift.

Yet now, thirteen years later, this very same sword had somehow found its way into the hands of his counterpart in Edolas, once again standing against him.

(What a... truly unfunny joke.)

With a sigh, Noel suppressed the emotions welling up inside him.

His purple and blue pupils quietly studied Edolas Noel.

"I didn't expect you to possess the Judgment Sword. With such a weapon in your hands, it's no wonder you wield such formidable power."

"Judgment Sword?" Edolas Noel raised an eyebrow at the name, his voice cold. "So you recognize the Black Sword? Judgment Sword... is that its true name?"

"Who knows?" Noel shrugged indifferently. "You probably understand it better than I do."

"Then never mind." Edolas Noel casually swung the black sword in his hand.

The very air seemed to be torn apart, letting out a low, eerie hum, and even space itself warped slightly from the force.

"To think you could force out Black Sword's true form... That is truly surprising. This is the first time I've ever had to use Black Sword in a serious fight. The opponents I faced before weren't even worthy of making me use Star Shatter."

"I can understand that."

Noel shrugged.

Although the Judgment Sword wasn't currently being wielded by a God and had sustained considerable damage—its blade riddled with cracks from their previous battle—it remained a Divine weapon meant to slay Gods.

Even in its damaged state, its sheer power far surpassed anything in the magic-deficient world of Edolas.

Even the mighty dragons of Earthland wouldn't emerge unscathed if they were struck by it—if not killed outright, they would at least be gravely wounded.

(But... did I remember wrong? Were there this many cracks on the Judgment Sword when I damaged it? Or did it take more damage while trapped in the dimensional rift?)

Noel frowned slightly.

The sword's current state was far worse than he recalled.

The only explanation he could think of was that it had suffered additional damage within the rift.

"No need for unnecessary talk. Let's continue the fight," Edolas Noel said coldly.

"You're right."

Turning to Gajeel and Happy, Noel warned, "Gajeel, Happy, stay back. If you get caught up in this, it'll be dangerous."

"Huh? Why—"

"Aye, Noel, be careful!"

There was no time to respond further.

The moment Noel finished speaking, two terrifying auras—far beyond what any normal human could possess—began to rise from both him and Edolas Noel.

The sheer pressure caused the surrounding air to feel as if it had frozen solid.

Overwhelming killing intent and battle lust surged between them, crackling in the atmosphere like a violent storm.

Gajeel and the others, merely spectators to this scene, couldn't help but feel a deep, primal chill creep up their spines.

It was as if they were being watched by two ancient, monstrous beasts—beasts that could tear them apart in an instant.

However, before Noel and Edolas Noel could begin their battle, a sudden change erupted below.

A crimson light engulfed the entire royal capital, its intense magical energy seemingly solidifying and converging into a single point.

Then, without warning, a white chain—its tip shaped like the head of a dragon—suddenly erupted from the center of the palace, shooting toward the sky at an astonishing speed.

Before Noel and the others could react, the Dragon Chain had already struck the underside of the floating island where the Lacrima was stored.

As if coming to life, the front end of the chain slowly burrowed into the island, embedding itself deep within.

"What is that?!"

Edolas Noel's lips curled into a cold smirk as he said indifferently, "Hmph, the Dragon Lock Cannon has successfully connected."

"Dragon Lock Cannon?" A trace of unease flashed through Noel's eyes as he flapped his six wings, soaring toward the floating island of Lacrima. "Did I fail to make it in time? Damn it!"

Whoosh!

Before Noel could reach the island, Edolas Noel suddenly darted forward, blocking his path.

"I won't let you interfere with the Lacrima's collision with Extalia. If you want to pass, defeat me first." Holding the Judgment Sword, Edolas Noel pointed the tip directly at Noel, his voice ice-cold.

"Crashing the Lacrima into Extalia? Why?"

"It's just that old bastard's plan," Edolas Noel replied, his tone filled with disdain.

"By making the massive Lacrima collide with Extalia, both will be completely destroyed—vanishing into oblivion. And from their destruction, eternal magic power will descend upon Edolas. That is the plan, codenamed ETD."

"Damn it..."

Noel muttered under his breath as he watched the floating island slowly hurtling toward Extalia, all while Edolas Noel stood in his way.

Golden divine energy coiled around his body.

"I have to get past him—fast! I'll have to eliminate the Edolas version of myself directly. At my current divine power level, I can't use spells that are too destructive... but it should be enough."

"What are you mumbling about over there?" Edolas Noel sneered. "If you won't come to me, then I'll attack first!"

With a chilling laugh, he raised his sword, the blade swirling with black energy, and charged straight at Noel!

Noel took a slight sidestep, narrowly dodging the blade of the Judgment Sword.

At the same time, his fist, wrapped in golden divine energy, struck toward Edolas Noel's face.

Edolas Noel let out a cold snort, instantly retracting the hand gripping the Judgment Sword, using the black-aura-cloaked blade to block Noel's punch.

Boom!

The collision of two god-tier forces erupted with a deafening explosion.

Space itself cracked, fine fractures spreading outward.

The very void trembled, collapsing in on itself, while hurricane-like shockwaves burst forth from the point of impact.

The sheer force of the shockwave carried a destructive power that seemed capable of annihilating everything in its wake.

Thick clouds shrouded the sky, veiling everyone's vision.

Noel narrowed his eyes, relying on his senses to locate Edolas Noel.

"[God-Slayer: Star Shatter]!"

A sudden voice sent a jolt through Noel's heart.

A black energy blast, like a meteor, tore through the air, accelerating past supersonic speed, streaking toward Noel with deadly precision.

BOOM.

As the deafening explosion faded, the black energy gradually dispersed.

Edolas Noel's eyes widened in disbelief, staring at the face that was now right in front of him.

A fair and slender hand was firmly gripping Edolas Noel's wrist, the very wrist that held the Judgment Sword.

The owner of the hand, with his one purple and one blue pupil, gazed indifferently at Edolas Noel's astonished face.

"It seems you haven't realized—even if you possess the ability to wield the Judgment Blade, it does not change the gap between our strengths. As long as I avoid the blade itself, you are no longer a threat to me. That is your fatal weakness. This ends here."

Noel chuckled softly.

His other hand had already pressed against Edolas Noel's chest, golden divine energy beginning to flicker and surge.

Boom!

With a light yet devastating impact, Edolas Noel was sent hurtling backward at incredible speed, like a meteor crashing down.

His body pierced through multiple layers of rocky islands, before being violently smashed into the surface of Edolas, creating a massive crater upon impact.

Dust and debris erupted into the air, obscuring his figure from sight.

"Taking that hit head-on, he should be completely out of the fight by now," Noel murmured to himself as he glanced at the massive crater below.

Without further hesitation, he unfurled his six wings and soared toward the Lacrima.
