Fairy Tail Destiny-Chapter 314: Ch : Mistake
Chapter 314: Ch 314 : Mistake
In a certain passage of the Dark Magic Castle.
"[Mental Explosion]."
Blue light flashed in Ophelia’s pupils as the power of her mental magic reached its peak.
Continuous explosions echoed throughout the passage, and such an attack, which was ordinary for Ophelia, had already left Yukino and Lucy struggling to keep up.
"Lucy, we can’t keep being led around like this. At this rate, both our magical power and stamina will run out sooner or later," Yukino, who had dodged into a corner of the passage, said to Lucy.
"I know it’s going to be bad if this continues, but her attacks are just too fierce. Simply avoiding being hit has already drained all my energy," Lucy said, a wry smile on her face as she heard the explosions drawing closer.
Yukino let out a slight sigh and said, "Although it’s a bit forced, we have to try."
"Huh? What are you going to do?"
Instead of answering Lucy’s question, Yukino drew a star spirit key from her waist, and her magical energy surged.
She spoke, "Open, Ophiuchus, the Gate of the Serpent Master."
"Roar!"
With a puff of smoke, an enormous serpent appeared out of thin air.
With a menacing aura, it charged out of the corner and crashed toward Ophelia’s direction.
"Huh?" Ophelia stopped in her tracks.
A faint glimmer flashed in her eyes as she looked at the Ophiuchus star spirit charging toward her.
Her expression remained unchanged, and she pointed her finger at the giant serpent’s head, softly whispering, "[Mental Shockwave]."
Ding.
With a soft sound, waves of mental energy spread from Ophelia’s fingertips, crashing toward Ophiuchus.
The seemingly weak ripples hit the giant Ophiuchus star spirit, which let out a mournful cry before dissipating into a cloud of smoke.
"What?!"
Yukino gasped in surprise upon witnessing this.
Upon hearing the sound, Ophelia’s expression shifted slightly, and her gaze immediately turned toward the source of the noise.
"Not good!"
After hearing Yukino’s exclamation, Lucy immediately realized the danger.
The sound had revealed their location.
Lucy was certain that Ophelia wouldn’t overlook the noise, so without a second thought, she lunged at Yukino, knocking her down, and the two of them rolled together.
The moment they left their corner, the wall they had been standing against exploded and was engulfed by flames.
"I found you," Ophelia’s cold voice rang out as she stood not far away, glaring at them.
To their surprise, Ophelia did not immediately attack after discovering their position.
Instead, she silently observed them.
A few seconds later, she softly asked, "Tell me, why have you come here to fight me?"
"Why? ... That’s because you are planning to do something very dangerous, and we must stop you," Lucy answered after a brief pause.
"Then, answer me this: Do you know what we are planning to do, Lucy Heartfilia?"
Ophelia’s expression remained unchanged as she continued.
"This?..." Lucy was momentarily speechless.
After considering it carefully, she realized they indeed had no idea what the Demon God’s Soul was truly planning.
They were simply trying to stop them.
In other words, they had subconsciously judged that what the Demon God’s Soul was going to do must be extremely dangerous, so it must be stopped, and based on that judgment, they took action to prevent the Demon God’s Soul.
"From that expression, it seems you don’t know," Ophelia said with a complex look in her eyes.
"Then let me tell you. The long-standing pursuit of the Demon God’s Soul, the will of our Master, is to create a [world without sorrow]."
"A world without sorrow?"
"Yes," Ophelia nodded and raised her hands, speaking in a tone filled with complex emotions.
"Don’t you think this world is too unreasonable? At this very moment, in some corner of this world, something unreasonable is happening, causing someone’s despair and sorrow. That person might not have done anything wrong at all. In fact, that person could be an innocent child who doesn’t know anything, yet this unreasonable world, without any reason or explanation, brings disaster upon them. Why is this?"
"........" Both Lucy and Yukino fell silent, watching Ophelia, who appeared somewhat agitated.
"This world is imperfect. It is cruel. Each of us from the Demon God’s Soul has experienced this pain and sorrow firsthand," Ophelia’s voice grew low.
"And the will of the Demon God’s Soul, the will of our Master, is to correct all of this and create a brand new, perfect world. Therefore, for our Master, for this hope, the Demon God’s Soul will sever any obstacles in our way. This is our resolve. Tell me, Fairy Tail..."
Ophelia’s gaze became sharp as she asked, "...why are you trying to stop us?"
"......"
The entire area fell into silence.
Neither Ophelia, nor Yukino, nor Lucy made a sound or took any action.
They simply allowed the eerie silence to persist.
"That’s wrong!" Lucy’s voice broke the silence.
Both Ophelia and Yukino turned their gazes toward Lucy, focusing on her determined face.
"What did you say?" Ophelia’s gaze sharpened as she stared at Lucy, asking in a low voice.
"I said, that’s wrong!" Lucy met Ophelia’s gaze without flinching and spoke softly yet firmly.
"A world without sorrow, correcting the world’s unfairness... perhaps the intention behind that is not wrong, but you are wrong."
"You say... we are wrong. What’s your reason?" Ophelia asked.
"I don’t know how you plan to create a world without sorrow, but I do understand," Lucy paused for a moment before continuing, "you create despair. You pave the way to your goal with the despair of others. This method is undoubtedly wrong, and using such an incorrect means will never lead to the right result. I firmly believe that."
Lucy ruthlessly criticized Ophelia’s words.
"And yes, perhaps this world is unfair, and there are many sorrowful and discouraging things, but precisely because of that, we strive harder to pursue something called ’happiness.’ We treasure everything we have more because of it. The sadness and unfairness we face will never bring only pain."
Ophelia slowly closed her eyes, as if contemplating something.
After a long pause, she finally opened her eyes again, looking at Yukino and Lucy.
She said, "In that case, let me see for myself, whether the resolve of the Demon God’s Soul is sharper, or if your resolve is more correct. Show me what you’ve got."
"I was thinking the same thing," Lucy took a deep breath and drew a key from her waist.
