Fairy Tail Destiny-Chapter 49: Ch : The truth
Chapter 49: Ch 49 : The truth
"I want to fight Jellal." After finishing recounting her past, Erza spoke with her back to the others.
"Wait, Erza, the 'Zeref' that appeared in your story—?" Gray keenly picked up on the unusual name she had mentioned.
Erza nodded. "Ah, you should know about him too."
"The most brutal, most evil, and most powerful legendary dark mage in the history of the magical world. He can easily create terrifying demons, and his magic power is immense. Lullaby and Deliora are just two of the demons he created," Noel calmly explained.
"Jellal wants to resurrect that Zeref?" Juvia asked in surprise.
"Impossible," Noel suddenly said. "The dead cannot be resurrected. No method can achieve that because... that is a domain even the Gods cannot touch."
"G-Gods?" Lucy looked at Noel in confusion. "Do Gods really exist?"
Noel was silent for a moment before saying, "...Let's not talk about that. In any case, reviving the dead is absolutely impossible. It is forbidden."
Although curious about why Noel was so certain, Erza continued, "I don't know his exact motive. Whether it's possible or not is another matter, but according to Sho—one of my former comrades—when Zeref is resurrected, he can become the ruler of some kind of 'paradise'..."
"About your former comrades, I just can't understand—wasn't the real traitor Jellal?" Lucy suddenly said.
Erza shook her head and spoke with guilt in her voice. "After I left, he must have brainwashed them somehow. But I also ignored them for eight years... so calling me a traitor isn't wrong either."
"But... wasn't it for their sake? And yet..."
"Enough, Lucy," Erza interrupted, stopping her. "As long as I defeat Jellal, everything will come to an end."
Noel frowned and looked at Gray.
From his gaze, Gray understood—they were both thinking the same thing.
Erza was hiding something.
"Sister..."
At that moment, a trembling voice reached their ears.
Everyone turned their gaze toward the doorway, where a blond-haired boy with slightly dark skin, dressed in red, stood in shock.
His face was filled with disbelief as he spoke, "Those words... what do you mean by them?"
"Sho."
"Are you saying these lies just to gain sympathy from your comrades? Don't joke around! This is completely the opposite of the truth! You destroyed our ship and escaped alone, didn't you? If Jellal hadn't noticed your betrayal, we all would have sunk to the bottom of the sea! Jellal told us—this is the fate of those who fail to properly learn magic. You were so obsessed with the power of magic that you wanted to abandon our past entirely."
Noel looked at the emotionally charged blond-haired boy and spoke calmly, "You were Erza's comrade in the past, weren't you? Then, do you truly believe Erza is the kind of person who would do such a thing?"
"I..." The blond-haired boy's body stiffened. "You don't understand. You don't know anything about us. The only one who saved me was Jellal. That's why we spent eight years building this tower for him. For Jellal... was everything really a lie? Was Sister right, and Jellal wrong?"

"Indeed," Noel closed his eyes. "I don't know you, nor do I know what Jellal told you. But I believe in Erza. That alone is enough."
"That's right."
A deep, hearty voice suddenly rang out, and a burly man with a steel helmet on his chin stepped forward into the room.
"You bastard..."
The moment Gray saw the burly man, he instinctively wanted to attack, aiming to defeat the one who had ambushed him before.
However, Juvia suddenly reached out and stopped him.
"Wait, Gray-sama," Juvia said.
Seeing Gray's confused expression, she explained, "Back then, he attacked only because he knew you were a decoy."
"What?"
"A master of darkness manipulation would never fail to perceive his surroundings. I came here to confirm his true intentions."
"As expected of one of Phantom Lord's renowned Element 4," the burly man said with a note of admiration.
"What's going on?" the blond-haired boy, Sho, asked in confusion.
"Sho, it was all to deceive your eyes and lead them into this tower."
"Why... Why would you do such a thing?" Sho looked at the burly man, bewildered.
"Sho, everyone was deceived by Jellal. Until the right moment, I had to pretend I was deceived too."
Erza looked at the man. "Simon, you..."
"I believe in you, Erza. For the past eight years, I always have... It's good to see you again, truly from the bottom of my heart."
"Simon..." Erza looked at him with relief in her eyes.
"Alright, alright, let's wrap up this touching reunion already. This is getting annoying."
Just as everyone was feeling relieved for Erza, a voice full of impatience reached their ears.
A slender boy, around twelve or thirteen years old, stood at the doorway with his arms crossed.
He had short blond hair, emerald-green eyes, and wore a purple coat.
His expression was filled with disdain as he looked at the group.
He was none other than one of the Seven Seats of the Demon God's Soul—Reign Gilarnia, the Steel Throne, whom Jellal had invited.
"Who are you?" Everyone took up a battle stance, watching the blond-haired boy warily.
"I have no interest in any of you. If you don't want to die, stay out of my way," the brown-haired boy said, his eyes locked onto Noel with a deadly glare. "My only target is Noel Rutherford."
"What did you just say?"
Hearing the boy's words, Gray's expression darkened.
Though he was calmer than Natsu, he was just as proud.
Being dismissed so disdainfully ignited a fury within him.
"Ice Lancers!"
Several spears of ice shot out from Gray's hands, flying straight toward the brown-haired boy.
"Tch, how annoying."
The brown-haired boy muttered in irritation.
As the ice spears closed in on him, he simply raised his leg and kicked.
Bang!
To everyone's shock, Gray's ice spears shattered into pieces from just that single kick.
"What?!"
Everyone present was stunned.
Sho and Simon were less affected, as they weren't too familiar with Gray's strength.
However, the members of Fairy Tail and Juvia knew very well—Gray was undoubtedly a top-tier mage.
Yet, his attack had been destroyed so effortlessly.
The brown-haired boy clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"At this level? That wouldn't even be enough to scratch an itch."
