Standing near the back door of the university, Jareth looked at the cracks in the sky with a solemn look on his face.

’The Final Part of the Relay Race has begun... thankfully, I made enough preparations beforehand...’

Jareth wasn’t surprised that the ’False Dome Cult’ managed to break the seal in the end.

The main reason why Jareth was so hell-bent on stopping the seal from breaking was because he wanted to buy more time.

The fate of this world was already sealed the moment the avatar of that demon god descended on it for just a few seconds.

Jareth just needed to buy time and escape.

In the original game’s storyline, there were three endings to the game, but all were bad endings with the world stuck in a stalemate.

’I wonder if my choice is better or not... it will be proved soon though...’

By constantly interfering with the normal development of the plot of this world, Jareth has altered the entire planet’s destiny.

Originally, the protagonist would have lived for a long time with his jade beauties after defeating Zion.

The destruction of the world was only ambiguously told, and there was no scene in the game showing the destruction of the world.

Which means, originally, the breaking of the false dome seal should have happened much later than now, but Jareth’s interference caused many changes in the destiny of this planet and accelerated the process of destruction.

Now Jareth has effectively created a ’Fourth Ending’ to this game.

As long as he manages to escape, this fourth ending will become ’valid’ and can be considered a ’good ending’ compared to the other three bad endings that existed originally.

After all, in those three endings, the world would have perished just like many others had perished against the might of the ’Sea of Endless Miasma.’

The world will still perish in this so-called ’Fourth Ending,’ but at the very least, Jareth and Mark will be able to make it out of here.

Jareth stood while leaning against his car and waited for Mark and Risa to come.

*Step!* *Step!*

Mark and Risa came running in a hurry, and a look of confusion and panic was etched on their faces.

"Professor those cracks in the sky..."

Jareth nodded his head at Mark’s question.

"I don’t have the time to tell you every detail right now, but long story short, those cracks are a sign that the ’Barrier’ protecting our world is falling apart and soon enough many powerful demons and beings will descend upon us..."

Hearing Jareth’s words, Mark and Risa were both shocked to the core.

Just yesterday the two of them were busy giving exams and studying, and the next day they are told that the world is ending.

It was such a shocking statement that anybody would be shaken to the core.

"T-then... wh-what do we do now... this... will we all die now?"

Hearing Risa’s anxious question, Jareth shook his head replied in his usual cold and calm tone,

"There’s no need to panic; I and most of the strong mages already knew that this disaster was going to happen soon. we had long prepared for it..."

"You two must have also read about the new recently, right? That King Reynald, Mark’s father has been using his authority to order the military around recently..."

Jareth lied without even feeling the slightest bit ashamed.

"He did that because he was getting our nation ready to counter this monster wave. don’t worry, I have prepared a ’Secret Weapon’ against this situation since long ago..."

Hearing Jareth’s words, Mark and Risa heaved a sigh of relief.

"Phew, no wonder all the government officials were criticizing father for being selfish and ordering the nation’s military on his own; it seems he didn’t tell them and was preparing silently along with you..."

Mark and Risa misunderstood Jareth’s words and truly believed that Jareth had prepared a ’secret weapon’ against this situation.

They had seen Jareth help close a massive miasmic rift before! They believe that as long as it’s Professor Jareth, everything is possible!

Jareth didn’t bother clearing their misunderstanding, and as if to approve Jareth’s lies, a large-scale radio broadcast sounded in the entire capital city.

[I am your prime minister speaking! DO NOT FALTER MY PEOPLE!!!]

[OUR TOP MAGES HAD ALREADY KNOWN ABOUT THIS DISASTER!!!]

[King Reynald has already moved the military!! We do not need to be afraid!!!]

[Do not panic!! ALL THREATS ARE UNDER CONTROL!!!]

[We have a ’secret weapon’!!! We have the all-powerful mage Jareth Ayad with us!!!]

The radio broadcast rang out in the entire city, causing all people who had fallen into panic and fear to snap out of their worry-filled daze.

Even Jareth was surprised by the sudden broadcast, and he immediately understood what was going on.

It turned out that the ministers who were originally confused and angry at Reynald for suddenly moving the military finally understood why he did that.

Reynald must have sent them some message by now, and they are now working on calming the public.

Most ministers are just ordinary people; they do not know the severity of this disaster, and they ended up believing Reynald’s words that it can be controlled.

’That shrewd guy... he noticed something...’

Jareth’s eyes narrowed when he heard his name mentioned.

Back then, Jareth had asked Reynald to start preparing; he likely noticed that Jareth was also preparing some ’secret move’ to deal with the upcoming challenges of the ’False Dome Cult.’

That’s why he likely told the ministers that Jareth was going to deal with the situation.

’They are all misunderstanding that I have some kind of secret weapon that will help them get out of this situation!! Ugh what a headache!’

Originally Jareth had just told that lie to Mark to deceive him; who could have thought that the situation would take such a turn?

Jareth didn’t bother thinking too much about the situation and brought out a space ring from the inner pocket of his coat.

"Take this; don’t tell anyone about this thing. this thing contains the ’secret weapon’ that will help us get through this difficulty... I am giving it to you, Mark; keep it safe..."

Mark was baffled by Jareth’s words and asked back immediately,

"W-why are you giving such an important thing to me!?"

Jareth sighed at that question and replied calmly,

"The enemies will likely know that I might have some trump card on me to deal with them, so I am giving it to you to deceive them..."

"Also, this ’weapon’ is not complete yet; there is one final item left that can complete it. we can’t use it yet without that final item; I might have to fight a powerful person to get that item first..."

"In the meantime, you are in charge of keeping this thing safe along with Risa and Azul. take it and go join up with Azul near my mansion... you can take this car..."

Jareth patted Mark and Risa both on the heads as he encouraged them.

"As the announcement said, ’Do not falter.’ I will come over to your side once I have the final item. Now go!"

With Jareth’s order, Mark took the space ring, hid it in his clothes, and held Risa’s hand with a solemn look on his face.

"Father, you and everyone else are going to work so hard; I must also play my part. I swear I will keep it safe at all costs! Good luck, Professor!"

Mark and Risa took the car and left right after saying those words.

Jareth shook his head while looking at the car speeding away.

’I feel bad for deceiving those innocent kids... but it’s for their own good...’
