Falling For My Accidental CEO Husband-Chapter 282: Nostalgia
Chapter 282: Nostalgia
"Here you go, ma’am." Luca set the plate in front of Serena with an air of pride. "Taste this and tell me—does it beat the Japanese omelette I made for you before, or is it worse?"
Serena’s eyes flickered between Luca’s expectant expression and the neatly rolled omelette on the plate. At first glance, it looked similar to the one she’d tried before, but the aroma was unmistakably different. Even before taking a bite, she could tell it was something she had eaten and probably liked in the past.
"Wait," she said, narrowing her eyes. "Is this the recipe you told me about? The one your friend was supposed to sharedwith you?"
Luca’s grin widened, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Bingo! It’s the one. Though I have to admit, getting my hands on it wasn’t easy. Aiden’s been ridiculously busy lately it seems. I couldn’t reach him directly, so I had to call in a favor. Thankfully, he had An send me the recipe." He leaned back, crossing his arms with a satisfied look before adding, "And while I might look confident right now, I’m actually a bit nervous about Aiden. I think I might even go visit him in this week. It’s not like Aiden to be so secretive—it’s got me wondering what’s going on with him these days. Especially when he has only recently been married."
Serena picked up the fork, her curiosity piqued not by the omelette but by Luca’s words. Could it be that Aiden was looking for her? Was that why he was busy? According to Dell, his informants had told him that Aiden was the one behind the attack. That he’d done what he did to get his hands on the property mentioned in her will.
"You’re going to visit him? When?"
Luca frowned,"Woah! I can see by the sparkle in your eyes that you are upto something. Look, Aiden is an awesome man. All ladies fall for him at first sight. But, he is a one woman man. Always has been. And he is totally smitten with his wife. So, don’t ask me any more questions about him. That is just wrong."
Serena looked away. She wanted to know more about Aiden Hawk but Dale was being dam secretive and now Luca was unwilling to tell her as well.
With a sigh, she took a bite of the omlette and moaned in pleasure. It really was perfect. Just like that sandwich that she had made. And this was the proof, right here, that she had eaten this in the past and enjoyed this.

Dale looked down at the sleeping girl and narrowed his eyes. It was doubtful that she was the one who had tried to kill Serena. The girl looked too weak. However, Dale knew that appearances could be deceiving. Some of his most innocent looking had been the most ruthless killers.
And there was also the message that had brought her here, so she needed to make sure. "Are you sure that the message said that Ella Hawk wanted to kill Serena and she is responsible for everything?"
The man shook his head," The message doesn’t directly accuse Ella Hawk of trying to kill Serena, but it strongly implies she was involved. It suggests she acted because of someone else—someone who might have coerced or manipulated her and said that if you want the full story, you’ll need to ask her who gave the order."
"And what happened to her?" Dale asked, his voice low and deliberate. "Why is she unconscious?"
The man hesitated, his expression grim. "Whoever sent her here... they took her from a hospital where she was recovering from a heart attack. She was already weak, and the stress of being kidnapped nearly broke her. By the time she arrived, her condition had deteriorated. The doctor we consulted said the shock to her system was severe. To stabilize her, they put her under a medically induced sleep."
Dale’s eyes darkened, his fists clenching at his sides. "A heart attack? She’s barely out of her teens. What the hell?"
"I don’t know much. Her medical history says that it was triggered due to the severe stress she was under."
Severe stress? Dale nodded and after one last look at the girl walked out of the room. Maybe he should bring Serena here. He had been looking into all the people around Aiden and yet he had not thought to look into Ella. Could it be that she was indeed involved in something like that? And if she was then whose name would she reveal on waking up?
Dale stopped abruptly, as his jaw tightened and another darker thought crept into his mind. "Find out who sent her here," he commanded, his tone sharp and resolute as he turned to his assistant. "The fact that this person knows about my connection to Serena—and that they’d predict I’d want this girl—means someone is keeping a very close eye on us. I don’t like it."
"But, Sir," the assistant ventured cautiously, "isn’t it possible that this person is actually trying to help us? If Miss Ella Hawk is indeed collaborating with the perpetrator, then—"
"Then the one who sent her here has their own agenda," Dale interrupted, his voice icy with conviction. "Think about it. They either stand to gain from Ella’s disappearance, or they’re setting her up to expose someone else—someone they want eliminated. Whoever orchestrated this is using Ella as a pawn, and they expect me to play along. They want to turn me into the blade that cuts down their enemies. I have no intention of being anyone’s tool."
The assistant nodded and left the hospital while Dale stepped back. It seemed it was indeed time to meet Serena’s husband. But in the next instance, he received an information that had him stumped. Aiden HAwk had just left the country and was flying out here. Why would he fly out here out of the blue? Had he discovered Serena and him?"
