Chapter 235: THE SEVENTH EPISODE

LATER that evening, the seventh episode of Boys Odyssey aired right on schedule.

The episode opened with a text announcement appearing on screen: [The Argo sets sail for Jeju Island.] Then the shot cut to a wide view of the ship cutting through the blue ocean, the sun hanging low in the sky behind it. The camera slowly panned across the water until the coastline of Jeju Island came into view in the distance, green and sprawling against the horizon.

The scene switched to inside the ship. Contestants were shown moving through the hallways, heading up to the deck. One by one they emerged into the open air. Some of them stopped at the railing and looked out at the island getting closer. A few talked quietly to the person next to them, nodding toward the land ahead. Others just stood there watching, their faces lit by the late afternoon light. But all of them showed unmistakable excitement.

The next scene showed all the contestants gathered inside the performance hall. An assistant director stood at the front with a microphone, a small smile on her face. She told them they would do a fun activity today. Then she said they were going to Woljeong Beach. Not for a mission, not for anything related to the competition but just to have fun. As soon as she said it, a moment of stunned silence hung in the air before it shattered into excited whispers and disbelieving smiles. The serious mood melted away, replaced by a growing buzz of anticipation.

The next scene showed the contestants arriving at Woljeong Beach. The clear, light turquoise water stretched to the horizon, and the sand was white and fine under their feet. What stood out, however, was the beach’s emptiness. The program team had clearly rented a section, as there were no other people around.

A large canopy tent had been set up further up the shore. Underneath it, there was a barbecue station with grills and tables loaded with food, along with several coolers filled with drinks. Off to the side, there was a designated area with mats and benches where the contestants could leave their bags and change if they wanted.

As soon as they were given the okay, the contestants made their way toward the large canopy tent first. They dropped their bags in the designated area, slipped off their shoes, and left them in neat piles. Some of the Alphas and Betas quickly pulled their shirts off and tossed them onto their bags before turning toward the water. Then they ran across the warm sand, past the tent, past the barbecue station, straight for the sea. Within seconds they were splashing into the surf, laughing and shouting at each other.

The Omegas moved at their own pace. They left their things in the tent too, but kept their shirts on. Some waded in carefully from the shoreline. Others stopped at the edge, rolling up their pants or just letting the small waves wash over their feet. A few stood watching, smiling at the chaos unfolding in front of them.

The cameras roaming the beach captured plenty of moments throughout the day. There were shots of contestants playing in the water, building sandcastles, and chasing each other along the shore. Others showed small groups sitting together under the tent, eating and talking with genuine smiles.

Throughout the entire episode, the tone stayed light and fun. It ended with them filing back onto the ship as the sun set. Their faces all filled with satisfied and joyful smiles.

*****

[Ah, this was such a cute episode. The show should have more of this.]

- Right? I thought we’d have to wait until after the dance mission for another fun episode like the Busan day off.

└ Same here. But I’m glad they did it this way. If I was stuck on that ship in Jeju and couldn’t even step foot on the island, I’d lose my mind.

└└ LOL maybe the production team realized that too. That’s why they threw this in.

└└└ So it’s like giving them a treat before the real work starts?

└ I think it’s fine. Last episode was heavy with the elimination. Having something light before jumping into the dance mission makes sense.

- More beach episodes please! heart eyes

└ Something tells me you just wanted to see more shirtless contestants.

└└ And what’s wrong with that? Did you see those muscles? Yum.

└└└ Speaking of muscles, Seojun and Taeyang were really showing why they’re ranked first and second. Their bodies are insane.

└└└└ Right? I was not prepared for that. But damn if I’m not serviced. If you know what I mean. LOL

└└└ Can we not? These are teenagers we’re talking about.

└└└└ Don’t be so dramatic. It’s not like anyone’s gonna jump them. And most of them are over eighteen anyway, if you checked their profiles.

[They edited out many people, didn’t they? I noticed plenty of shots where you couldn’t see some contestants’ faces.]

- Those were probably the eliminated ones. This beach day must have happened before the elimination round.

└ If that’s the case, then the editing team did a good job. I barely noticed anything off.

└ It makes sense to edit it that way. It would be weird watching someone having fun at the beach knowing they’ve already been eliminated.

[Did anyone else catch that moment where Haneul started to take his shirt off? I almost gasped.]

- Me too! Thank goodness Robin grabbed him and pulled him toward the water. Otherwise there’d be shirtless photos of him all over the internet by now.

└ But why would he even try that? Doesn’t he know how that could affect how people see him?

└└ Maybe he’s going for that whole seductress image. Who knows? LOL

└└└ Exactly. We all know Haneul is a pick-me. This just confirms it.

└└└└ Who is "we" exactly? Because I don’t think that way at all.

└└ From what I could tell, it seemed like Haneul isn’t used to acting like an Omega yet. Maybe he only manifested recently.

└└└ Do you actually believe that? With a face and presence like his, he’s obviously dominant. No way he’s a recessive who just manifested.

└└└└ I agree. His fans just don’t want to admit he’s a huge pick-me.

- To all the haters in this thread, here’s a GIF of Haneul smiling at the beach. He was having a good time while you’re sitting behind your computer being unemployed jackasses.

[Wow. So Haru really is an Alpha, huh?]

- I only really registered it now too, seeing him without a shirt.

- He’s been getting taller every episode. By the time this show ends, I have a feeling he’s going to fill out in all the right places.

└ That sounds creepy. Maybe tone it down a bit. Haru is literally the youngest contestant here, in case you forgot.

[Seeing Robin at the beach, I really think it’s such a waste that he’s an Omega instead of an Alpha.]

- Yeah, with his height and build, he definitely gives off Alpha vibes.

└ Are you being serious right now? This is literally discrimination against Omegas. You do know that, right?

- This is such a backhanded thing to say about someone. Especially about an Omega.

[Watch this. This is the perfect definition of ’desperate’. *attached a minute long compilation of Park Mirae trying to approach Jung Taeyang while Jung Taeyang clearly ignores him*]

- Wow. Seeing it all put together like that, I didn’t realize how bad it was. He’s practically a stalker at this point.

└ Shh don’t say that out loud. His fans will come for you. In their world, Park Mirae is a virginal, innocent saint who can do no wrong.

└└ I almost choked on my drink reading this. XD

└ Calling Mirae a stalker? Are you serious right now?

└└ Just ignore this thread. It’s clearly full of Mirae antis.

└└└ So speaking facts makes someone a hater now?

└└└└ Since when did hate speech become facts?

- But seriously, why is Park Mirae so obsessed with Jung Taeyang? I could understand if it was Kang Haneul, since they’ve actually spent time together. But Mirae and Taeyang barely exchange two words.

└ It’s the pull of a dominant Alpha. Plain and simple.

└└ But Han Seojun is also a dominant Alpha. So why isn’t Mirae trying to latch onto him instead?

└└└ I honestly think it’s because Jung Taeyang is more talented. Mirae probably figured that out and decided to attach himself to the better option.

└└└└ Do you people even listen to yourselves? How much do you hate Mirae to just make things up like this?

[Noeul fans! Did anyone else catch this? *Attaches two videos side by side. One shows Taeyang walking in a certain direction. The other shows Haneul walking in that same direction a little later. The second video compares them getting out of the water, both emerging from the same spot along the shore*]

- Waaa!!! How did you even spot this?

- I noticed it too earlier but thought little of it. Seeing it side by side though, they definitely spent time together somewhere the cameras couldn’t reach.

└ OMG do you really think so?

└└ I’m pretty convinced. What were those cameramen even doing? How did they miss capturing this properly?

- Noeul fans are eating so well this episode.

- My god, you people are so bored. Why do you insist on shipping real people like this?

└ What’s the problem? It’s not like we’re hurting anyone. If it bothers you so much, just scroll past.

└ Don’t waste your energy on them. They’re clearly not right in the head.

Beyond the usual names that dominated every discussion, there were plenty of comments talking about the other contestants too. The comments section was full of small appreciations, little observations, fans staking claims on their own picks. It showed that more and more viewers were finding someone to root for.
