False Villain : Anunnaki System vs Demon Contract-Chapter 34 - 031. Johan’s Choice.
Chapter 34: 031. Johan’s Choice.
A quiet classroom with empty rows of benches.
Only Ayu and William were in the classroom. The two kissed, but the look on William’s face showed that he was not ready for the kiss.
The height difference forced Ayu to stand on tiptoe while William was forced to bow down.
After a while, Ayu stepped back and looked at William’s confused face very seriously.
She held the professor’s cheeks with both hands. "What you did back then was not a mistake, and my feelings remain the same."
Ayu smiled and took her hands away. The two stared at each other for a few moments but the woman’s eyes suddenly widened and her face turned red.
William tried to reach Ayu’s face, but she immediately turned away. Ayu finally realized how bold her actions had been. The confession of feelings, the kiss, the encouragement.
Bold, too bold...
She straightened her books and bag and hurried out. "See you tomorrow, professor."
’What did I just do?!’ Ayu shouted in her mind while holding her reddened cheeks with both hands.
The classroom now contained only one person. The professor stared at his hand for a few moments then chuckled softly before deciding to sit down on one of the benches.
"Not a mistake?" William now laughed.
The laughter was only temporary as Johan suddenly stepped in.
"Looks like you’re having fun," said Johan who stepped into the classroom without warning or even knocking on the door.
William sighed to reorganize his emotions. "If you’re looking for Ayu, she just got home."
"Yes, I know." Johan’s pace quickened. His gaze was so serious and his hands were clenched tightly.
*Bham!
A powerful punch landed on William’s face and sent the man flying.
"Huh?! What are you doing?!" William shouted in confusion.
"Stop pretending you don’t know!" shouted Johan who once again approached his older brother.
He launched his punches once again. "Why is it always you?! Why always you?!"
William tried to parry and dodge the blows while wondering what his younger brother was really thinking.
"What are you really saying?" asked William.
"I’m talking about Ayu!" shouted Johan which made William silent for a few seconds.
*Bham!
A punch landed on the face and once again knocked William off his feet. He lay on the floor and tried to sit up.
"You’re always like that. You always take the best for yourself!" said Johan who walked over to William.
Just as Johan was about to punch his older brother, William kicked Johan in the stomach and made Johan sat and holding his stomach.
"I understand it now," said William, who was now standing up. "Ayu was the girl you liked and you blamed me because you didn’t get to express your feelings. And now.... It’s too late."
"Shut up!"
"You blame me when you’ve always been like that."
"Shut up!" Johan shouted, immediately stood up and tried to hit William.
But William managed to dodge and immediately launched a counter punch.
*Bham!
Johan was lying on the floor and William looked at his brother with a pitying gaze.
"Lazy, always underestimating things, too relaxed, and you like to procrastinate. You certainly haven’t done anything to confess your feelings to her. And now you’re taking it all out on me," William said.
"Shut up!" Johan immediately ran and hit William with his own body until his older brother was thrown.
Johan immediately approached William. "Stop talking!"
Just as Johan was about to hit William, someone shouted Johan’s name and made the man fall silent.
It was Ayu. The look on her face was mixed of annoyance and disappointment.
Johan backed away slowly and tried to explain what happened, but Ayu walked quickly to him and slapped him.
Johan froze and sat down. He held his reddened cheeks then looking at Ayu who was now crying.
"Why did you hit your own brother? That’s not the Johan I know," said a disappointed Ayu.
Not the Johan she knew? Of course not, because Ayu was not even aware of Johan’s feelings and Johan did not even say it yet.
Johan opened his mouth, wanting to say something but he swallowed the words because he already understood....
It was already too late.
Johan stood up and walked straight to the door. Ayu tried to stop him, wanting to solve the problem by talking. But Johan realized...
There was nothing to resolve.
Johan continued his steps and walked out of the classroom, leaving Ayu and William behind.
Johan walked off campus and it was raining.
"Perfect, so perfect," said Johan who stood up and complained as he looked up at the dark sky and walked through the rain.
Johan went straight back to his apartment soaking wet. He even chose to walk home.
No, not because of money, but he needed to calm his mind while walking.
Trying to manage his emotions even though anger and sadness filled his head and heart at the moment. His tears flowed but they were covered by the raindrops that ran down his head.
Johan was silent for a few moments then recalled William’s words about him.
Maybe it was true, maybe if he had been faster, he could have dated Ayu, but it was too late and he could only stare up at the sky, laughing.
Laughing out loud while crying.
----------------------------------------
After arriving at his apartment, Johan went straight to the bathroom and contemplated for a long time in the bathroom.
After almost an hour, he came out of the bathroom and changed his clothes.
Johan lay down on the sofa and stared at the ceiling. He spent the night alone because William didn’t come home and he didn’t want to think about where his older brother slept tonight.
Because he knew....
There was only one place where his brother would sleep tonight, and Johan didn’t want to imagine it, didn’t want to think about it.
---------------------------------------------
Johan opened his eyes and found himself asleep sitting on a chair in the office of the Regent of Donggala.
As he looked around, he found a sleeping Jessica sitting on his lap.
Seeing his niece asleep on his lap, he had no choice but to smile and stay where he was.
Johan sighed heavily and looked up at the ceiling. "I promise I will take care of your daughter no matter what."
