False Villain : Anunnaki System vs Demon Contract-Chapter 66 - 063. Kalomba Village.
Chapter 66: 063. Kalomba Village.
It didn’t take a month for everything to go according to Herman’s plan. The place he conquered is now his new home. He claimed the biggest stilt house in the place and made people renovate it into the model he wanted.
At first, everyone disagrees but one of Herman’s abilities manages to convince them that this is the best choice.
The ritual Herman used to make a contract with the kalomba king managed to give him some pretty useful abilities. Besides the fact that he could gain access to control the kalomba, he also gained magic to hide their presence.
With a radius of 100 meters, all areas within that radius are covered by a large dome that hides whatever is inside.
Visuals and even sounds...
Anyone outside the area would be unaware of what was happening inside. To them, they would just see an ordinary scenery.
But of course, an area with a radius of 100 meters would not be enough for a group to survive.
How will they expand their safe territory? At a high price, of course.
"Big brother, I’m tired, I want to sleep," said an exhausted and pale-faced Lana.
Lana and Reizel were in a room at the back of the stilt house Herman had designed for them to live in.
The room was separated from the house and connected by a short hallway without walls, only a belly-high fence.
The room where Lana spent her time was a large room with all the walls covered by a black cloth.
There were no windows and only one air vent. Only candles could provide meaningful lighting in the all-black room.
The room was quite comfortable with a large soft mattress for Lana to use as a bed and a table where Reizel placed food for Lana to eat.
Ever since the day Herman performed the ritual, Lana’s body was always weak and always exhausted. No matter how much food was eaten, no matter how much sleep Lana took, the little girl did not improve at all.
And so it was today, Lana fell asleep while tightly holding Reizel’s hand while the wavy-haired man could only look down, confused and feeling helpless.
*knok! Knok!
The sound of the door knocking made Reizel raise his face. He walked to the door and opened it, letting the all-black room be illuminated by the sunlight.
Reizel’s eyes twitched slightly when the bright light hit his eyes and revealed his face which also looked tired and also had obvious eye bags.
In front of Reizel, a man was standing while dragging the figure of a man whose eyes had been blindfolded and whose mouth was gagged and whose hands were tied.
Reizel didn’t say anything, he just sighed and understood what to do.
Reizel dragged the bound man into the room and closed the door.
The bound man looked panicked and tried to run away but Reizel immediately activated his system and hit the man’s stomach with stronger physical power than average human strength.
The man immediately fell silent and Reizel threw him in front of Lana’s bed.
Lana was still asleep. And maybe it was a good thing that the girl didn’t wake up for the next few minutes.
A shadow suddenly came out of Lana. A large shadow that connected with Lana as if it couldn’t be separated from the little girl.
The large shadow crawled and grew both hands. It looked at the man lying on the wooden floor with his hands tied and unable to scream.
A huge mouth suddenly appeared on the surface of the huge shadow.
It was a large mouth that was vertically 1 meter long. The mouth opened and revealed a row of sharp fangs.
The huge shadow grabbed the lying man and instantly stuffed him into its mouth.
Brutal chewing, blood gushing in all directions, the sound of bones breaking and being chewed, the sound of flesh being torn apart.
Reizel saw the helpless man being brutally eaten alive and a lot of blood gushing in all directions, even soaking Lana.
Reizel trembled, trying to contain his fear. He couldn’t blink and could only stand there sweating.
Not long after that, the shadow re-entered Lana’s body and all the blood in the room was absorbed into the wall. Even the blood that soaked Lana’s face was also absorbed into the wall.
Without a trace as if nothing had happened.
And that was what Reizel had to witness every time his father decided to expand the scope of the cloaking magic which had now reached a radius of 800 meters.
Reizel left the room and walked through the short hallway that connected Lana’s room and the house.
His body staggered and he tried his best to endure the nausea.
When he entered the house, he was greeted by his father who stood tall.
"What’s wrong with you?" asked Herman who looked at Reizel who looked so weak.
"Dad... Do we have to do all this?" asked Reizel who was now leaning against the wall with his breathlessness.
"The people being sacrificed are people who are outside of our territory. They are no one. We need power to protect ourselves and anyway, we only sacrificed strangers," replied Herman swiftly.
Reizel collapsed on the spot as his body could no longer bear the mental stress he had been under for the past few days.
Herman looked at Reizel with a cold gaze as if he did not recognize the mental burden his son was experiencing.
"Reizel, I want you to meet your cousin," said Herman who managed to get Reizel’s attention.
"Cousin? Who?" asked Reizel.
"Her name is Randa Naroso, she just came and she also needs a place to stay."
"Just her alone? What about her parents?"
"Reizel, I’ll tell you a family secret. Her mother died giving birth to her and her father committed suicide because the ritual failed."
Reizel’s eyes widened. "Ritual? What do you mean ritual?"
"Her father sacrificed his own wife to get a strong son, unfortunately the child that was born was a girl," Herman answered swiftly.
Reizel’s head was about to explode. He had just learned that performing cruel rituals was normal for his family. Kalomba, a contract with the kalomba king, and now... He had just learned that the person who was his cousin was the result of a failed dark ritual.
Reizel broke out in a cold sweat and panicked. "Why?! Why are you telling me this?!"
A large shadow came out of Herman’s body and stood upright behind the old man.
Just like Lana, the shadow was attached to Herman.
Herman looked at Reizel very seriously. "Because our family has privileges. Our family has access to do the contract with the kalomba king."
Reizel fell silent when he saw the shadowy figure that came out of his father’s body. It was so tall and even looked like a human.
"Reizel! We are destined to fight the users of that system! We are the chosen ones!" said Herman who was grinning faintly.
