Fantasy Football-Chapter 42: Agege RR VS Dark Elites
“ I just want to tell you all that we’ve trained hard and gone through a lot to reach this stage, and today we’re going to prove we belong here, but first of all we have to make sure that you guys don’t let them control the tempo of the game early on.”
“As the moment you let them do, that’s the moment we lose the whole game, they’re not a top side we need to park the bus for—they’re just a normal team—and beating them is how we announce the Dark Elites’ return to the street-rank stage in style.”
“So you’re going to go out there and make me proud.” Mystic finished, lifting the squad’s morale with a few firm words not saying too much as he felt it wasn’t needed, his players have played with each other before under the face of a large crowd so they would never get frightened of the opposition fans bearing down on them, now they just have to step out there and find their rhythm..
After that, he read out the names of the players that would be starting, as usual, he stuck with his preferred eleven with no changes.

Meanwhile, the Agege Roundabout Rangers lined up in a different formation compared to them.

With the speech done and the lineup settled, the players marched out from the visiting changing room to the tunnel, where the Agege Roundabout Rangers later joined them from their own side.
Immediately some of the Agege Roundabout Ranger players tried to intimidate the Dark Elites Boys with their aura, by looking down on them due to their young age, but when it didn’t work, they gave up as the call came to come into the field.
—
“ Phew!” The match between the Dark Elites and the Agege Roundabout Rangers kicked off with the Rangers taking the opening touch after the referee’s whistle.
Immediately the match started, they knocked the ball backward to build from the back, while the Dark Elites pressed high with Tasty, Mojo, and Buchi leading the line.
Little by little, the game settled as the Agege Roundabout Rangers circulated possession with unusual aggression, their fans cheered the rough play as the Rangers tried to bully their way through the Dark Elites’ shape.
From the first whistle, Mystic went to work, as he pulled out his notebook and handed it to X, he then proceeded to use his system ability to scan the opposition.
Though he’d need to pay in order to get the full status tabs, but for something this small like a quick scan of their levels with his Insight skill was enough to spot who his boys needed to watch for the most.
And soon he was swift to notice that most of them averaged Level 6–7, but one stood out the most and it was the supporting striker of the Agege RR, named Sola Ajibade, which was already at Level 10.
That meant he’d already capped the level needed for the normal tier and was eligible to evolve to Bronze rank provided that the resources, elixir and medicine for the evolution were provided and it was done under the right conditions—a detail that snapped Mystic’s focus onto him.
As he started to squint his eyes while staring at him, and when Mystic concentrated on a single player that much, the system was bound to respond to it, as a prompt slid into his view a split second later, as if trying to confirm his intent.
[Pay 500 Player Coins to unveil player (Sola Ajibade) status tab (Y/N)]
After seeing this, Mystic didn’t even flinch as he confirmed the prompt by picking the Y option, and after the payment was made he wasn’t just seeing Sola Ajibade’s name and level which was displayed above his head again; because when he focused, he could also see a full status tab bloomed beside him—a 3D screen overlay like a game system interface.

Seeing Sola Ajibade’s status tab opened up new possibilities for Mystic; for one, Sola was the first player he’d seen with more than one position listed on his status.
All this while, he’d assumed one player meant one position; he’d never really considered that the system would have a different style for some players who could fill multiple roles—or what position would display on their status tab if they could hold down more than one position properly
At least now he had an idea, and he also couldn’t help liking how balanced Sola’s attributes were, with Strength slightly edging the others—which just gave him proof that Sola wasn’t someone who slacked off at all. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
However, when he compared Sola to his own players, a quiet confidence rose in him, because his boys had the chance to surpass Sola.
Right now, he had Jezzy Vingz and Mojo at the midfield, who are both Rare talent players, and by the time they reached the Level 10 that he was in, they could completely overshadow whatever Sola could do now.
Meanwhile, Bhola, Omo Igbo, and Lambert would be comparable to him at that level(overall rating)—and that’s if any miracle that might boost their talent tier further doesn’t happen, this is because of the fact that he could now help his players evolve their talent to the next Tier as long as they reached the capped requirement for their current talent Tier.
He shifted his focus away from Sola and scanned the rest of the team; as his initial goal was to map opponent levels and flag the true threats.
Identifying Sola as the most dangerous didn’t mean he’d ignore the others; as underestimating them would be a mistake on his part, and his team hadn’t earned the right or even reached the state where they could look down on anyone yet.
Then another anomaly stood out: Wasiu, the defensive midfielder—who just happened to be a Level 8 player, not a top elite, but clearly levels above most of his players, which meant he was trouble brewing in his own zone for his players.
The rest of the team consisted of Level 7 players, with only Kamorudeen (right centre-back) and Tunde (left-back) at Level 6; all in all, Mystic saw a well-balanced side.
With each player’s level jotted down by X, he finally sketched a plan to grab an early lead.
