Fantasy Lord: Beginning with Daily Intelligence-Chapter 209 - 150: New Intelligence, New Opportunity?
With the acquisition of the three territories, Thor had truly become the ruler of the Maine River Valley, occupying nearly seventy percent of the land, and the resources he could develop and utilize had reached an unprecedented level.
Especially after taking over the territories of Baron Gladon and Baron Valmy, the core area of the entire Maine River was almost entirely included under his domain.
This included several mines and a large amount of cultivated farmland.
There was also a vast area available for further development.
Now his territory, in terms of size alone, was probably half the size of the Dressrosa Family’s territory.
Of course, it’s just the size; reaching the scale of the Dressrosa Family’s territory would require long-term development and governance.
However, even so, such a scale is top-level in the entire Frost Moon Province.
Three days quickly passed by.
After Thor inspected the territories of Baron Saki and Baron Gladon.
The cleanup for Baron Valmy’s territory was also gradually completed.
Thor took the opportunity to inspect Baron Valmy’s territory as well. Compared to Baron Gladon, Baron Valmy’s territory was by no means smaller; in fact, it was even larger.
Not only in area but also in population.
The population of Baron Valmy exceeded thirteen thousand people.
It could be said that in the entire Maine River Valley, besides Thor and Baron Pape, Baron Valmy’s population was the largest.
Likewise, the amount of cultivated farmland was more than that of Baron Gladon.
For all of this, Thor ended up paying over two thousand five hundred gold coins.
Holding these gold coins, Baron Valmy left almost reluctantly, looking back with every step.
Meanwhile, Thor quickly had his people take over the entire territory.
Thus, the three territories were completely incorporated into his domain.
With just three more territories...
There arose a problem.
That is, the three territories needed knights for protection.
Neither Baron Gladon, Baron Saki, nor Baron Valmy could possibly leave knights behind, so knights needed to be transferred from the Eagle Territory.
Currently, the entire Eagle Territory had only five Great Knights, including Thor and Reine. Excluding Thor and Reine, there were only three left. There were only about sixty Official Knights and over a hundred Apprentice Knights.
All three newly acquired territories needed garrisoning.
This required transferring three Great Knights, as well as a large number of Official Knights and Apprentice Knights for garrisoning.
Even with daily intelligence, without strong forces for protection, problems could arise in the three territories.
This is particularly true for such newly acquired territories.
However, of the three Great Knights, Marshall Thor could not be mobilized, as he had already begun preparing to break through to the Earth Knight, and it was not advisable to call him out unless absolutely necessary.
So, that left Steve and Pelos, with still one place left to cover.
Not to mention the insufficient number of Official Knights and Apprentice Knights.
After dispatching some to the Eagle Merchant Association, the Eagle Territory was left with only about fifty Official Knights, barely enough to allocate slightly more than ten to each area, and at most thirty Apprentice Knights.
Such a force was somewhat thin.
In the study room.
Thor’s right hand continuously tapped on the desk, while his mind started to race rapidly.
"Knock, knock!"
The door was gently knocked.
"Come in!"
Thor spoke.
As his words fell, a figure walked in.
"Sir!"
Mark spoke respectfully.
"Mark, how long has it been since your cultivation broke through to the Official Knight Peak?"
"How long do you estimate until you break through to Great Knight?"
Thor spoke, looking at the figure in front of him.
"Sir, it’s been three months already."
"It should, it should take another two years, I suppose!"
Mark was briefly startled, but reported respectfully.
"Too slow!"
"Mark, if I can advance you a thousand merit points, how long would it take you to break through?"
Thor spoke, gazing at Mark.
"Sir?!"
Upon hearing Thor’s words, Mark’s breathing instantly quickened, his eyes filled with disbelief as he looked at Thor.
"Tell me!"
Faced with Mark’s astonishment, Thor remained calm, his voice ringing out again.
"A month, no, at most seven days, and I can break through."
Mark spoke excitedly, his words somewhat incoherent.
"Good!"
"Go and see Anna, pass along my words to her."
"Remember, you don’t have much time. Within seven days, I want to see you break through to Great Knight."
Thor spoke, his expression serious.
"Yes, Sir!"
"I will not disappoint you."
Mark spoke excitedly, his eyes filled with a hint of excitement.
A thousand merit points were enough to exchange for a Divine Wood Fruit.
With the Divine Wood Fruit, he was almost one hundred percent certain he could break through to Great Knight.
Currently, he was only thirty-three years old. At thirty-three, as a Great Knight, he truly held hope of breaking through to Earth Knight in the future.
Especially since the Eagle Territory allowed for the exchange of the Fierce Eagle Breathing Technique.
As long as he earned enough merit points, he could try to exchange for the Fierce Eagle Breathing Technique.
"You may go!"
Thor waved his hand.
Mark then bowed and withdrew.
Watching Mark leave, Thor once again fell into contemplation.
This was not because of the issue of a Divine Wood Fruit. Though he only had one remaining, as long as Mark could break through, it was not a small problem.
Although, a Divine Wood Fruit is only likely to form in trees over a thousand years old containing life power; each one contains a vast amount of Life Source Power, not only serving as the main ingredient for Intermediate Life Potions but also as an auxiliary ingredient for High-Level Life Potions.
