Farming with Entries: From Lord to Emperor-Chapter 523 - 269: Bloody Night (Part 2)
The old Count took his hand out from under the blanket and handed over the golden badge.
Vika stepped forward, about to reach out to take it when he felt something amiss, and turned to stare at the dark corner by the window.
At the same time, the short knife slipped into his hand.
The room instantly fell silent.
"Alright, alright."
A moment later, a tall and beautiful woman emerged from the shadows,
"You little fellow actually noticed me, you’re very good!"
Vika stared at the figure in front of him, his mood unsettled for a long time.
The process of the woman appearing was exactly the same as when Miss Vivian appeared from the shadows!
Moreover, the woman’s appearance was very similar to Miss Vivian, only possessing a bit more mature charm.
Vika couldn’t help but put away the short knife and cautiously asked, "Who is this lady..."
"No need to be nervous, Avril’s aunt, Jenny Nightingale."
The old Count proactively introduced, "If it weren’t for her presence, I would have died at Susanna’s hands long ago."
Upon hearing the old Count’s acknowledgement, Vika completely relaxed.
No wonder they look so alike.
Although he still had many guesses and doubts in his heart, Vika had no time to waste and reached out to accept the golden badge.
"Lord Earl, I still have important matters to attend to."
Vika bowed respectfully, "I can’t stay too long, I’ll be off now."
"Hmm, we’ll be depending entirely on you all."
The old Count smiled, "Once everything is over, I will certainly grant you additional rewards."
Vika smiled without saying anything, swiftly retreating to the doorway.
Soon after, his figure disappeared completely.
"I should be leaving too, Lord Earl."
Caitina bowed slightly, "We must keep everything calm."
"Hmm."
The old Count nodded in response.
Just as Caitina was about to turn and leave, the old Count spoke again, asking,
"Will Avril come back to manage the family?"
"Well... I don’t know."
Upon hearing this question, Caitina felt a bit helpless,
"No one has mentioned this matter, I’m sorry."
"Alright, I understand."
The old Count sighed slightly.
Watching Caitina’s departing figure, the old Count couldn’t help but murmur,
"He truly is very composed."
...
...
Unlike the Northern Wasteland.
Red Griffin Castle is located in the southeastern part of the Broken Rock Empire.
At night, although it’s not as hot as the southern provinces, by the end of the mid-summer month, it’s still enveloped by high temperatures here.
Even when occasional night winds sweep by, they cling to the body, making one feel uncomfortable all over.
Especially the guards clad in armor.
"Damn weather."
Bragg wiped the sweat from his forehead, shaking his heavy chain armor, trying to make himself feel cooler.
The other guard, Wolf, nodded, "I feel like I’m about to be suffocated alive."
Wolf also undid a few fasteners on his chest, attempting to allow more air to flow in,
"I believe you shouldn’t wear this damn iron suit in summer, because no one would actually launch an attack in this weather."
"Shut up, Wolf, saying things like that will bring bad luck!"
Bragg cursed with a gloomy face and quickly glanced around.
The other sentinels on the wall were dozing at their posts, and all was silent around.
"What are you scared of?"
Wolf sneered, "Who’s here? Who’s here?"
"Not even a ghost."
"Still, you shouldn’t utter such things!"
Bragg warned, "Don’t let me hear that again, or I’ll kick you, damn it."
"Alright, alright, you’re the captain, you call the shots."
Wolf shrugged, "I’ll go cool off my buddy, honorable Captain, I’ll leave this place to you."
"Get lost quickly."
Bragg waved, taking out a rag from his coat to wipe his sword blade.
Wolf walked while shaking his chain armor, familiar with entering a concealed spot in the corner of the castle wall.
Here was a recessed corner where guards usually relieve themselves.
Wolf loosened his belt.
As the sound of flowing water resounded, Wolf let out a long sigh of relief.
And at that moment, he felt an icy chill on his neck, and blood sprayed out instantly!
Simultaneously, a shadow emerged behind him, covering his mouth directly!
Until Wolf completely lost vitality and stopped struggling, at last laying him gently down.
"Why is there a smell of blood?"
Bragg paused his blade cleaning to sniff vigorously, "Wolf, have you finished your business?"
The only response was the sound of the night wind blowing.
Bragg frowned,
"Something’s not right..."
Bragg reached out intending to wake the dozing teammates, but a sharp blade suddenly stabbed into his neck!
Bragg’s eyes widened, attempting to struggle, only to find his strength fading rapidly, trying to scream but his mouth was covered.
Eventually, he collapsed helplessly to the ground. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
And the three teammates dozing beside him also didn’t escape the blades, dying in their sleep.
A thick smell of blood wafted like ghosts across the walls, the distant patrol immediatley sensed something wrong.
Yet before the alarm could be raised, sharp short blades successively cut open their throats.
In an instant, a dozen shadows ghosted along the walls, silently sneaking behind the guards, swiftly harvesting lives.
Amidst the deadly atmosphere enveloping Red Griffin Castle, blood slowly flowed on the walls, staining the gray stones crimson.
In the westernmost secluded tower, Knight Garrick was organizing his patrol records on the desk.
A light breeze drifted by, carrying the faint scent of blood across his face.
"Something has happened!"
Garrick grew instantly alert, grabbing his longsword to rise.
Just then, the wooden door ahead was pushed open, and a graceful dark figure silently appeared at the doorstep.
