Fate: I Heard After Death, You Can Ascend to the Throne of Heroes?-Chapter 313: You actually care...
"It’s over, it’s over... If Goddess Skuld finds out, she’ll definitely punish me... Wait, she probably already knows, right?"
Thinking about this, Shini’s face was already filled with despair.
"No, no, this isn’t the time to think about these things. I need to stop them immediately, or I’ll really be collecting the corpse of that guy Promise!"
"And what’s with that painting? Why did Promise completely change the moment the brush was finished... No, maybe he didn’t change. Maybe this is the real him?"
"But... what about the time he stood up for me and Thrud, shielding us from Loki, or when he presented the offering to Sif, the goddess of harvest? Wasn’t that him too?"
Shini muttered these thoughts, her expression momentarily clouded with confusion.
But soon, she pushed all of it aside.
"Never mind, never mind all that. What he’s really like can be figured out after we drag him back. The most important task now is to stop things from escalating further."
"I need to hurry and find Goddess Skuld!"
With that, Shini, having snapped out of her daze, flew toward Asgard at top speed.
However, not long after taking off, she suddenly realized something.
"Wait, finding Goddess Skuld might not help at all, after all, she can’t leave the World Tree right now... Right, Goddess Skuld must have been watching all along. If she hasn’t intervened, it’s probably because she can’t. Lord Loki is too powerful; ordinary magic won’t work on him."
"If that’s the case, what about Idunn, the goddess of youth? But she probably can’t stop Lord Loki either." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
At this thought, Shini froze.
"Then... the most noble and great All-Father Odin? Didn’t he have some kind of ’script’ relationship with Promise?"
As she muttered this, Shini’s voice grew quieter.
After all, asking a little bird like her to directly approach Odin, the king of the gods, was a bit too much.
"Thrud... Yes, Thrud! She would definitely be willing to help, and she could definitely do something!"
Gritting her teeth, Shini decided she had no other choice.
Well..desperate times called for desperate measures!

Meanwhile, in the realm of Asgard.
In the garden of Sif, the goddess of harvest’s temple.
Dressed in a radiant, pale golden divine gown, Sif smiled gently as she sat in the flower pavilion with her beautiful and valiant daughter, Thrud.
"Thrud, it’s been several days now. Aren’t you going to see that child?"
She asked in a soft voice..however.
"Signor?" Thrud looked up at her mother in front of her, tilting her head slightly and spoke. "Why should I go see him? The task given to me by Idunn already complete... While he does deserve to enter Valhalla, it’s not time yet. He’s still too young.
When he truly earns that right, I’ll naturally go to see him."
Thrud spoke in a serious, methodical tone, which only made Sif pout in boredom.
Her daughter was really perfect in every way—beautiful, talented, and accomplished. But l she is always very methodical in doing things, which is really unlovable... Sif thought to herself.. *Why can’t she be a little more lively?*
"That’s not what I meant," Sif said, trying to steer the conversation. "Don’t you care about that child? Promise, I mean."
After accepting Promise’ tribute, the goddess of the harvest is now satisfied with the young man no matter how she looks at him.
Although he was a bit weak, which made him look a little flawed.
But other than that, Sif was extremely satisfied with everything else!
So, not only did she not have that thought of refusing, but now that, her daughter, who had always been as stiff as a wooden doll, was finally showing some semblance of emotion,
She couldn’t have been happier.
"I do care about him.
But it’s because of Sister Brynhildr."
"Brynhildr?" Sif blinked, her expression blank. "What does she have to do with this?"
Brynhildr, the leader of the Valkyries, had long since fallen into a deep slumber. What connection could she possibly have with Promise?
Thrud explained briefly, outlining the relationship between Brynhildr and Promise.
Sif listened intently, feeling stunned for a moment, before her eyes widened as the pieces fell into place.
"Wait," So, she said after a long pause. "So you’re telling me you don’t actually have feelings for Promise? You just want to take care of that child because of Brynhildr?"
"Yes," Thrud nodded and said.
"Of course... but feelings? What kind of feelings would I have for him?"
As she spoke, the Valkyrie tilted her head, her expression one of genuine confusion.
Sif stared at her, utterly speechless for moment.
To be precise, at this moment, her hopeful heart sank once again.
"I knew it," She muttered, pressing a hand to her forehead. "No, I should’ve realized it sooner.
Just when she felt that her daughter was beyond saving, a frantic voice interrupted their conversation.
"Thrud! Thrud, are you here?!"
It was Shini, the little bird, her voice filled with panic, reaching the room.
A blur of blue feathers shot into the room, moving so fast that the temple servants barely had time to react.
One of them tried to stop her, but a sharp glare from Sif made them back off immediately.
Thrud looked at the bird that flew in front of them and braked with its face in surprise and confusion.
The mother and daughter looked at each other for a while, and just as Thrud opened up her mouth ready to ask Shini what happened, the little birdie, who had just skidded to a halt, and was breathing heavily, looked at the Valkyrie in front of her, looking calm as ever, and felt an overwhelming urge to burst into tears and pour out her heart.
Suppressing that impulse, she screamed at the top of her lungs, "Thrud, something terrible has happened! Promise is in trouble!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, Goddess Sif’s gaze immediately shifted to her daughter’s winged ears, watching in surprise as they stiffened in an instant.
"He insisted on going to paint something after forging that brush..."
Painting?
What’s the big deal about painting? Sif thought to herself, puzzled.
"But now he’s gone with Loki to the bottomless abyss of the deep sea to find Jörmungandr!"
"...Who?" Goddess Sif blinked for a moment, not quite processing the information.
"Jörmungandr! Loki took Promise to the bottomless abyss to find Jörmungandr! Promise said he wanted to paint a picture of Jörmungandr!"
The information was so explosive that Sif’s brain short-circuited for a moment.
But the next second, she saw her daughter shoot to her feet, grab the still-stunned Shini, and dash out of the room at breakneck speed.
Sif stared blankly at her daughter’s retreating figure, the image of Thrud’s unprecedented panic lingering in her mind.
"Pfft... Ha, hahaha!"
After a moment, she couldn’t hold it in anymore and laughed until tears streamed down her face.
"Oh, you silly girl. You’re so clueless! Saying you don’t care, that you’re just looking after him for Brynhildr’s sake... You’re practically obsessed with him!"
Well..now, her heart, which had been dead to the idea, was now racing with anticipation again.
"This is interesting, absolutely interesting. I can’t wait to see when my dense daughter will finally realize her feelings... Oh wait, that’s not right, now’s not the time to be amused by her!"
Still laughing, the goddess Sif, who had been leisurely sitting and about to take a sip of water, suddenly stood up in realization.
"Wait, they really went to find Jörmungandr? And Loki took him there? That child... has he lost his mind?!"
"No, no, no! My wooden daughter is finally starting to bloom. I can’t let that flower wither before it even opens!"
With that, Sif also rushed out of the temple, searching all over Asgard until she found Thor, the God of Thunder, standing outside the Hall of the Slain with Tyr, the God of War.
"Thor, something terrible has happened! Our daughter ran off to the bottomless abyss to save Promise, who went to find Jörmungandr!"
Not only was Thor, the god of thunder, stunned by the news, but even Tyr was left speechless, staring at Sif as if he couldn’t believe his ears.
Looking at the goddess Sif running over, he almost thought that he had heard it wrong.
Then, after a quick explanation, and immediately realising what was going on, Thor, now frantic, immediately summoned his chariot pulled by two goats.
Ignoring the confused gazes of the other gods in Asgard, she drove the chariot at top speed toward Midgard, the realm of humans.
Even Tyr, gripping his sword with a serious expression, followed along to help with the rescue.
Odin, the All-Father, emerged from his high temple, watching the thunderous skies above Asgard and his heart, which had been hanging by a thread, finally sank.
"As expected, we must find a way to separate those two after all."
The one-eyed god, who had originally planned on hiding in the shadows for some time, knew he could no longer stay out of this.
After all, if he continues to hide, who knows what chaos would unfold in the future.
On the other side, Promise, completely unaware of the commotion he had caused, had already arrived with Loki at the edge of Midgard, where the dark, bottomless abyss of the deep sea lay.
And as soon as Loki stepped into the area, the once-calm waters began to churn violently.
Clearly, Jörmungandr had sensed his presence—or rather, the presence of his... father!
The Calamity Serpent, the World Serpent Jörmungandr, who had been suppressed here and tormented day and night, slowly raised its terrifying head from the depths of the bottomless abyss!
