Chapter 887 -887: Is the Marriage Certificate Fake?

Ann Nolan tied her hair up with a hairband.

Zaiden Santos stood silently by, suddenly feeling a sense of dizziness.

“Although it’s raining today, it’s not cold, I’ll take you to play pool. If you don’t want to play, just watching is fine too,” Zaiden said.

“I’m not familiar with your friends.”

“You’ll get to know them once we start playing.”

“Sorry, I’m really not interested.”

Ann coldly refused and didn’t want to talk anymore, she went straight into the bathroom and closed the door.

She vividly remembered everything he had done to her last night. She wasn’t that forgetful to happily go out with him after being forced by him.

Her eyes carried a cold glance, and her facial expression was unusually indifferent.

She turned on the faucet and washed her face in the bathroom.

The rain had not stopped, continuing to drizzle.

Today was the weekend, she had arranged to have lunch with Jasmine Yale and couldn’t possibly go out with Zaiden.

Unless absolutely necessary, she would no longer go out with Zaiden together.

At least that way, when it came time to divorce, it wouldn’t be too awkward.

He could keep whoever he wanted company; she couldn’t care less.

Zaiden found himself shut out, feeling uncomfortable, yet unsure how to express it.

He frowned and walked back to the window, crossing his arms and silently staring at the large bed.

The air still carried her lingering scent.

Soon after, Ann came out; seeing that Zaiden was still there, she frowned deeply.

She glanced at him but made no attempt to engage, sitting in front of the vanity to start applying makeup.

“Are you going out?” Zaiden asked coldly.

“Mm.”

“To meet whom?”

“What does it have to do with you? I never ask you, and you shouldn’t ask me.”

“Is it wrong just to ask? Is our marriage certificate fake?!” Zaiden’s anger was successfully provoked by Ann again.

“You know very well why we married,” she used to deny it, not willing to face reality, but now, she was rather calm, “So, why bother asking about my personal life?”

She didn’t want to say too much.

He himself should have an idea.

Ann applied light makeup and put on a mousse-colored lipstick.

A very everyday look, refined and beautiful.

She casually tied up her long hair again, clipping it with a pearl hairpin.

She didn’t bother changing her skirt, matching it with a pair of beige high heels.

Perhaps because she wore professional attire too often, Zaiden found it hard to adapt to the woman before him.

They had married in the summer, and he hadn’t yet seen her in spring attire.

Seeing her today, he was momentarily startled.

Maturity with a hint of allure, composure with a touch of charm.

His frown deepened, “Dressing up so nicely, are you meeting a man?”

Ann, who was packing her bag, paused briefly, then a mocking, cold smile unfolded on the corners of her mouth.

“Mr. Santos, are you seriously this obliviously sexist?”

“What do you mean?” Zaiden didn’t understand.

“It means nothing, just complimenting you,” Ann said with a sarcastic smile towards him.

Zaiden felt annoyed, the comment didn’t sound like a compliment at all; how could she possibly be complimenting him.

Ann said nothing more to him, picked up her bag, and walked out.

Just as Zaiden was about to speak again, she had already walked away.

Ann went to the garage to get her car, then made a phone call to Jasmine Yale.

“Jasmine, want to go for hot pot?”

“Sure, how about the Ruyi Hot Pot on the third floor downtown? I’ve heard it’s really good, and they offer a free doll today.”

“A small doll? I like those,” Ann laughed.

“Yes! Then let’s go there!”

“I’ll pick you up, I’m on the way.”

“Okay, I’ll wait for you downstairs!”
