Fated: The Alpha's Unwanted Luna-Chapter 131: Play a game_Part 2
"Thank you," Viola muttered, not only for granting her this first wish, but also for his presence the night before, even though he had just annoyed her and she still very much wanted to smack his face for taking her picture without any warning. Her hair hadn’t even seen a comb yet this morning and her face was completely bare, faint blemishes and all!
Sebastian felt a warmth trickle through his chest at her first genuine thank you directed at him. He had once believed there would never come a day when she would say those words to him, and he certainly hadn’t expected them to feel so unexpectedly satisfying.
"Have you thought about your next wish?" he asked, sliding his hand back around her hip and spreading his fingers slightly to hold her there, subtly pressing her closer against the hardness that had only grown with her sitting on him. It was something he couldn’t fully control. In truth, this was the longest he had gone without being with a woman, and it was all because his senses refused to crave anyone but her.
Though Sebastian knew he could have sought out another woman and imagined it was Viola, he wasn’t the kind of man who would touch someone else when he was about to marry one. He wasn’t a cheater in any relationship, and he wasn’t about to become one now simply because he was impossibly aroused.
"Just like I said, I’ll let you know when I’m ready to give my next wish. Right now, can you please delete that picture?" Viola said with pursed lips, becoming increasingly aware of how intimately she was sitting on him and how firmly he was holding her in place.
"Sure, I’ll delete it, but on one condition," Sebastian mused quietly, willing his hand not to wander beneath her oversized shirt to explore more than he already was. He wanted to touch her skin through the shirt, to explore her and feel the mate spark ignite inside him. He wanted to lean forward and lick her skin, to taste it, and savour it like a forbidden fruit.
"What condition?" she asked warily, suspicion flickering in her eyes.
"Play a game with me," Sebastian told her, studying her expression closely. "If I win..." His gaze drifted slowly to her lips, and his voice dropped lower, thick with meaning. "...you will kiss me."
Viola felt something inside her tighten at the thought of kissing him, and a slow heat unfurled in her belly in a way she had never experienced before. Her throat went slightly dry. He wants to play a game with her? What type of game?
"And if I win, you’ll delete the picture?" she countered carefully, realizing there was no harm in playing a game to get him to delete that picture he took of her.
Sebastian nodded. "Yes. And I’ll give you anything you want as your wedding present, along with your other remaining wishes," he added for more effect.
"Deal!" Viola agreed quickly, as she knew having more ways to ask for a wish from him was not something she should let slide, and there was no way she’d let him win. But then she noticed the way he was grinning far too widely, and she arched a brow at him. "You seem very happy."
"Because you agreed to my part of the deal, and that makes me very glad." He reached out and pinched her cheek playfully, and she swatted his hand away.
"Because?" she pressed suspiciously.
"I always win, honey. I never lose at games."
Viola snorted softly. "And yet you lost to me when you thought I couldn’t win the competition. Don’t get too excited, buddy. You’ll lose again." She smirked confidently, not dwelling too much on the fact that he was clearly pleased at the prospect of getting a kiss from her. Nick had been the same, always finding an excuse to steal a kiss on the cheek. She couldn’t help but think that being friends with the male Kades apparently came with them wanting kisses as part of the package.
Sebastian felt a slight sting of bitterness that she remembered him challenging her strength, but the thought of kissing her quickly brightened his mood.
"So what’s the game, and what are the rules?" Viola asked, finally getting off his thighs as he released her. She crossed her arms over her chest, pretending indifference as she looked at him.
"It’s simple. It’s a game I used to play when I was six with Matt. Everyone here played it as a child, and I’ve heard it’s quite famous across the entire werewolf lands. You must know it too," Sebastian said as he stood and went to retrieve a plain sheet of paper and a pen from one of the kitchen cabinets.
Viola suddenly felt nervous at the realization that they were about to play a childhood game. She had never truly been a child who played games. During her time at the orphanage, she had been more concerned with survival than with play. And after her adoption, she had focused on pleasing her parents and staying close to Evan, leaving little room for carefree games like other kids.
So when it came to childhood games, Viola was painfully ignorant and embarrassingly bad at them. Watching Sebastian return with the paper and pen, she felt her palms grow damp with nervousness. Was this the moment she should back out?
Sebastian knelt beside the coffee table and placed the sheet down carefully, then gestured for Viola to join him. She slowly walked forward and knelt on the opposite side of the table, sunlight pouring in through the glass and casting a warm glow over them. She placed her hands against the cold surface of the glass table, watching him spread the sheet.
"The game is called Guess What I Wrote. Do you know it?" Sebastian asked, sounding faintly amused that he was about to play a game from his childhood.
Viola shook her head, feeling oddly embarrassed. "No... I don’t."
"That’s fine. I’ll teach you the rules. It’s not hard," he assured her gently, noticing the slight drop in her confidence. "I’ll cup my hand around the pen and write something on the sheet. By watching the movement of the pen, you have to guess what I wrote. Whoever guesses correctly wins. Do you understand?"
Viola let out a quiet sigh of relief when she realized it wasn’t overly complicated. She nodded and focused on his hand as he shielded the pen and began writing down on the spread sheet.
For the next fifteen minutes, they played. Very quickly, Viola realized how difficult the game truly was. Sebastian was an expert! Trying to decipher his words based solely on the subtle movements of his hand felt nearly impossible, for he barely moved the pen to follow whatever letter he wrote down and she kept guessing wrongly!
"That’s so unfair!" Viola exclaimed when Sebastian emerged as the clear winner, correctly guessing every single word she had written.
"You’re only saying that because I won and you lost, darling," he chuckled, flashing her his disarming smile as she glared at him accusingly. He would have allowed her to win if he hadn’t been so desperate to taste her lips with her consent and to also use that beautiful picture on his screen.
"Now come and give me my prize," Sebastian said, settling onto the floor with his back leaning against the couch. One leg was bent at the knee while the other stretched out comfortably in front of him as he waited.
Viola immediately regretted agreeing to this game, especially knowing how little experience she had with childhood games. But a deal was a deal. It was just a kiss, she reminded herself firmly. Nothing more. She’d kissed Nick’s cheeks a few times before; it was no different with his cousin.
With that resolve, Viola crawled around the table toward him on her palms and knees and knelt between his legs, as it was the only way to properly reach him given the way he was sitting. She discreetly wiped her slightly sweaty palms against her shirt before leaning forward slowly and cautiously, her heart pounding in her chest.
