Fated: The Alpha's Unwanted Luna-Chapter 147: The supreme Alpha’s rage
Nobody noticed Sebastian’s entrance to the scene where his mate was being brutally beaten by a scum who had no right to breathe the same air she breathed, let alone lay a hand on a single strand of her hair. They were too busy crowding around and watching the scene like they were watching a live show, until his presence announced itself through the suffocating shift in the atmosphere and then his dangerously low and furious voice that warned Evan.
"Touch her again, and you will learn exactly what is worse than death."
The people gathered in the lobby, mostly guests, turned in his direction, parting away from his path as he walked down the hall in long, purposeful strides with his hands tucked inside the pockets of his trousers and his leather shoes clicking sharply against the floor.
His breathtakingly handsome face was a pure mask of fury that made everyone begin to bow their heads in submission, but his cold silver eyes didn’t go to a single person in that crowd, only to the woman curled up on the floor, moaning softly and holding her stomach as though she was suffering from some deep internal pain.
Sebastian’s fingers clenched tightly inside his pocket until a faint cracking sound could be heard in the sudden silence that had fallen over the crowd at his presence. The silence was so complete and so heavy that not a single person dared to breathe, terrified of making even the smallest sound and having those cold silver eyes turn on them.
Many of the people gathered there had never personally laid eyes on the supreme Alpha before, nor ever been anywhere close to him, and now that they were, his aura alone was sending them into an overdrive of pure, trembling fear.
If winter had a face, it would have been the supreme Alpha’s face at that moment, and if fire had a breath, it would have been the burning air inside him and the heat emitting from his nostrils, for Sebastian saw nothing but red, a very hot and blazing red that he couldn’t control or reason his way out of, not even enough to remind himself that he wasn’t supposed to show his fury so openly to people when it’s a matter that concerns Viola.
But caution be fucking damned!
Evan, who noticed the supreme Alpha walking towards them with that devastating aura rolling off him in waves, took a cautious step back from Viola and stared at the approaching man.
Not understanding why he looked so enraged that his expression was darkening by the second, Evan decided to make a good first impression, as he had never met Sebastian in person before. He had already considered that this celebration which had brought him here would serve as the perfect opportunity to forge a new friendship between them, as the petty feud of the past was no doubt behind them now, with Ember standing at his side and the fact that they had been invited here specially.
Evan quickly straightened himself up and then leaned down to warn Viola, "I will get back to you after I speak with the supreme Alpha," and then he smiled and stepped forward, pulling his mate along so he could introduce her to the supreme Alpha, who was walking steadily towards him.
Evan was smiling and had already parted his lips to speak when he was suddenly seized by the throat and hurled against the wall with a force that cracked the glass behind him and sent a sharp, blinding pain shooting through his spine. Everything happened so fast that neither he nor anyone around them saw it coming, until all the breath was knocked violently out of Evan’s lungs.
"How dare you lay your filthy hands on her? Who the fuck gave you the right to hit her?" Sebastian demanded in a dangerously low voice that sent a cold shiver crawling down Evan’s spine. Despite being an Alpha himself, Evan’s aura was nowhere near that of the supreme Alpha, and his strength even less so.
Those words caught him so off guard that his gold eyes widened in disbelief. How was it any of the supreme Alpha’s business that he had hit a nobody who had been disrespecting his wife-to-be? Viola, that woman, had disrespected Ember, and all Evan had done was put her back in her place, so why was the supreme Alpha this furious, choking the life out of him over it?!
"L-let’s talk about this, supreme Alpha. The bitch disrespected—" Evan began to say, but the words couldn’t leave his throat as Sebastian’s fingers tightened even further around his windpipe, cutting off both his words and his breath and turning Evan’s face as red as hot pepper.
"I will fucking kill you for it," Sebastian gritted out lowly and furiously, unable to believe the audacity of this fucker, beating his mate in his own territory as though she were some nobody. Even if she were a nobody, Sebastian never allowed outsiders to lay a hand on his members, let alone his fiancée and mate!
Leni, who watched her mate looking as though he was on the very verge of dying from lack of air, became gripped with fear. Wasn’t the supreme Alpha supposed to be pleased that Evan had disciplined a useless woman on behalf of his woman? Wasn’t he supposed to invite them into his office for a cup of coffee and a warm welcome? Why was he strangling her Evan over a nobody?
Leni had always known Viola to be a scheming woman who played cruel and calculated games to deal with she-wolves who had shown any interest in Evan in the past. She had a way of wrapping men around her fingers that had always made Leni despise her deeply, but she truly hadn’t thought that with Ember now in the picture, she could have pulled that same game on the supreme Alpha, enough so for him to come striding furiously over here and begin strangling her Evan!
She spun to the only person she believed could save him, grabbing Ember’s arm tightly. "Do something, your husband-to-be is going to kill my mate! Help him!"
