Fated To Three, Betrayed By All… Until She Rose.-Chapter 307: Always her.
Chalice.
The scream that tore out from the back of my throat was so loud, it almost burst my windpipe. But who the fuck cares about some damned windpipe when the moon goddess has decided to frown upon her by cursing her baby to come out weeks before its supposed due date?
Definitely not me.
My fingers dug into the wall as I screamed so loud, the ceilings rattled. But do you know what was more pathetic than having to scream like a fucking banshee for all to hear?
The fact that no one cared.
Nobody came to check on me. Nobody cared that I was literally screaming down the place. Nobody cared that this could be my fucking last breath...
’Because they probably think that you’re faking it just as you’ve faked every other thing,’ My wolf and arch enemy clapped back, infuriating me even more.
I rolled my eyes as I blocked her voice out of my mind. Because come to think of it, she was the last person I wanted to listen to right now. She was one of the people who hated me the most despite being tied to me for the rest of her miserable life.
The tears that poured out of my eyes weren’t just tears of pain, it was of frustration and anger combined. It was of irritation and despair. Hell, I wanted to curse the moon goddess for hating me so much!
I wanted to pull at my hair and scream from one end of the world to the other.
"Somebody, HELP!" I screamed when nobody would come to my rescue, and do you know what I get for screaming out those words?
Nothing.
Nothing but silence. The walls echoed my voice back at me as if in mockery, replaying my anguish as if it was some twisted kind of game that the gods played. My body trembled so badly, I feared that I would die, and unable to hold myself up anymore, I fell to the damp floor and squeezed my eyes shut.
"I don’t know what you’re up to, dear witch, but take this pain away and make it Leilani’s. Fill her body with an anguish so blinding, she would beg for death. Give me ease and kill this child... do not forsake me as you have before!" The words rushed out of my mouth, fueled mainly by pure rage and pain.
A wracking pain tore through my spine, searing its way even down to my bones.
Not being able to hold it in anymore, I threw my head back and screamed so loud, I heard a cracking sound in my ribs.
But did the pain go away?
Of course not.
Instead, it intensified by a ten-fold, causing my already loud screams to increase in tempo.
The corners of my vision blurred together. Images blended into themselves until they were nothing but all mush and darkness... and when I couldn’t take it anymore, I shouted so loud, even my voice almost deafened my ears.
But maybe this time, it was good. And I say so because finally I heard the sounds of approaching footsteps. They were not loud or close but I could make do with it.
In desperation, I grabbed hard at the cell gates, shook it as hard as I could and yelled; "Someone! Anyone! HELP ME PLEASE! My baby is comingggg!"
I coughed violently while saying these words, and mucor so thick ran down my mouth as I was fast getting dehydrated.
But I didn’t care about that, neither did I care that I probably look like a mess right now.
The footsteps grew louder, thundering all the way to my cell and as it approached me even more, I couldn’t how but pray for a miracle.
"Lady Chalice!" Someone screamed, but I was in too much pain to see who it was or register the next things he said to me.
All I knew was that I was latching onto his dress shirt like there was no tomorrow and crying until I could feel my eyeballs wanting to fall out.
Before I fainted and slipped into dark oblivion, I felt myself being lifted.
But that was it. That was absolutely it before everywhere went dark... and the ringing in my ears came to a stuttering stop.

Zevran.
The lady was screaming so loudly and crying so much that a few paramedics were now gathered by the door, watching with wide eyes and wondering what in the name of exorcism was going on here.
Mind you, I wondered that too!
Just like we had found Kael only yesterday, she was folding into herself with her bones making loud snapping sounds as they twisted in weird angles and her face so red, there was no difference between it and a potato right now.
She threw her head back when the pain became too excruciating, but do you know what shook me to the core the most about all of this?
Darius himself.
How unfazed he was. How he doesn’t even seem like he’d broken a sweat despite the obvious rise in the room’s temperature. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought that he was chilling, resting his back against the wall, when in truth, he was literally frying a girl to her death with his mind.
And I couldn’t watch it happen anymore.
Something about it was messing with my head. And I feared... goddess I feared that this witch was the only one with the capabilities to lift the spell off my Leilani.
This fear was what prompted me into raising both of my hands and waving them in desperate distress as I screamed; "I think it’s high time we hear her out! At this rate, she would die and we wouldn’t know a thing!"
Darius paused then to flash me his infamous smile. But right now, it only seemed to make my skin crawl.
I turned away from him so fast you would think his look burned and seethed; "Question her! Make her lift the spell on Lani."
"You do not get to order me around, pretty boy!" Darius clapped back; But after casting one look— just one look at Leilani, his face softened and he spat;
"Witch!"
I do not know what he did to her but she threw her head back and shrilled; "Miranda! My name is Miranda!"
I shuddered.
"Okay, Miranda, how can we break the spell on Lani? What the hell did you do to her and who the fuck asked you or made you do it?"
I already had suspicions of my own. I already had drawn my own conclusions as well. So when she refused to talk, causing Darius to be forced to torture her even more, I squeezed my eyes shut and swallowed, muttering under my breath; "You would die saving someone that’s on a path to doom."
And at that, she finally raised her head to meet mine. I saw a flicker of something akin to admiration fleet across her face before she dropped it and hissed so low, I barely heard her at first.
She said; "It is a debt. I owed her a debt and had to pay back like this..."
"You owe Leilani?" Caelum snarled incredulously, his eyes flashing with rage and something else. Something that looked like that primal need to kill. "...and you had to—"
"No! Goddess! I do not owe Ms Leilani!" She screeched, spitting out blood, "I owe her sister who is at the moment, in labor."
"Chalice..." I hissed, confirming my suspicions, "I always knew it had to be her."
