Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild-Chapter 412 - 228: Curse Scale Fish (Part 2)
"This is absolutely ridiculous! Whether it’s the instant water flow or the defense," Dorothy exclaimed in the sky.
In her understanding, these spells hitting the fish should make its scales break and flesh tear, but it was only slightly harmed. Moreover, the fish’s instantaneous water attack was terrifyingly strong.
If not for everyone mostly having Earth Attribute equipment, fighting it would be very difficult.
"Curse Scale Fish gets its name because it stores spells in its scales when not fighting. That’s why they’re called that. These scales need nourishment and magic power to cultivate, the more curse scales it nurtures, the stronger the fish becomes. And in an environment like Mengze Island, the curse scale fish here is definitely extraordinarily powerful," Li Ang said while floating in the air.
"You might have told us sooner."
"If I don’t let you experience it firsthand, how will you remember its might? In other environments, there will be similar demons, so memorize this well."
In order to train the group members to grow, Li Ang was very tough-hearted at times like this.
After the Curse Scale Fish continuously cast spells, the magic power in its scales was reduced significantly, making it look less magnificent than before.
However, its tail, dorsal fin, and pectoral fins still shimmered with light, indicating strong spells stored within.
It continuously leaped, firing stored water bullets at everyone.
The water bullets came in different forms, some were large bombardments, others were small continuous hits, the relentless attacks even destroyed the tree roots, causing the young girls to scream as they dodged and defended.
Zoe raised her hands high, conjuring a row of Earth and Rock Shuttle in the air.
She didn’t create large flying shuttles, instead made medium and small ones, using quantity to fill the space.
The Curse Scale Fish sensed the threat of these earth shuttles, it swam up again, using the tree roots to leap up, then flipped its body, aiming its dorsal fin at Zoe and delivering a slash across the air, suddenly forming a Water Blade.
The sharp form of this Water Blade was perceptible by sight alone to sense its power, not to mention the surging magic power within.
ALulu immediately leaped halfway, her shield glowing with the light of Divine Power, blocking the slash at Zoe.
Xiaoniu’s brute force allowed the shield to perfectly block the attack, but in the air, she couldn’t find support, almost failing to stand when she landed on the tree roots and nearly falling into the water.
Fighting such demons dwelling in watery environments, falling into the water would certainly be fatal.
The Curse Scale Fish continuously leapt, unleashing Water Wave Blades, the second water blade’s momentum was weakened by Andasu’s continuous shotgun fire and destroyed alongside the earth shuttle released by Zoe.
Zoe had finished conjuring the flying shuttles, capturing the trajectory of the large fish’s leap and firing consecutively.
However, this was its home turf, only a few hit it, causing its scales to shatter, bleeding and wounding it, but far from killing it.
"Can’t let it move so freely like that," Andasu said.
"Does your aroma have any effect?" Zoe asked.
"I’ve already scattered it, but it moves so quickly, its breathing method differs from ours, it might take a long time to take effect."
"I can’t catch it either!" Dorothy angrily shouted on the side.
Dorothy previously tried to use Flower Vines woven together to entangle the Curse Scale Fish, but the Flower Vine’s speed couldn’t match the fish’s leap; when it widened the distance, the flower vines couldn’t reach it.
So she kept releasing the Branch of Prosperity, once more constructing the kind of large Flower Beast used in battles with Whiteflower Wasp.
The Flower Beast’s sharp claws were made from vines, allowing it to stand steadily on the Treasure Tree Roots of Island Heart Lake, traversing complex terrain.
However, though powerful in strength and lethality, it couldn’t keep up with this slippery fish.
"I might have an idea," ALulu suddenly said.
Sweat covered her whole body, steam rising around her, despite her pink hair plaited in braids, many strands still stuck to her face, making her rosy, flushed face even more adorable.
But Xiaoniu’s mood wasn’t good at all, finding it hard to perform in this environment, her little head slightly inclined forward, her short horns seemed eager to prick the enemy but without the strength to do so.
She stared at those tree roots, saying to the other three, "Stand steady, I’m going to destroy the tree roots it jumps from."
Just as the three were about to understand her meaning, ALulu had already plunged her shield into the nearby tree roots and charged out holding her Blood-Burning Giant Sword.
Her power was astoundingly immense, the giant shield directly sliced into the sturdy tree roots, fixing them inside.
"Ha!"
The young girl’s voice still carried a slight milkiness, yet her fierce shout broke through with strong Warrior momentum.
Her legs exerted full force, propelling her whole body like a cannonball forward in a collision.
Her target wasn’t the Curse Scale Fish, relying solely on brute force for pursuit wouldn’t catch such a demon, it’d instead exhaust her with spell attacks while running.
Li Ang had hated such monster designs in games from his past life.
But ALulu clearly wasn’t acting with the intention to attack the fish, wielding her sword below, slicing through the drooping tree roots in her path.
"Right! That way it won’t have a landing point! Lulu, good job!" Zoe called.
The roots were destroyed, leaving the Curse Scale Fish without support. It was just a fish, incapable of executing any moves on land; its previous actions solely relied on the environment.
Xiaoniu severed several roots, choosing drooping ones so the Curse Scale Fish couldn’t follow its momentum to leap back into the air. Using the upward protruding roots left it with only entry into the water.
Icy waves also consumed its magic power, and in root-crowded places, the wave’s power wasn’t very effective, yielding poor value.
The Curse Scale Fish discovered ALulu’s actions and only landed on distant roots, leaping between the lake and tree roots without shooting spells, seemingly observing everyone.
"It can’t attack us now, but we can’t get close either," Andasu said.
The Curse Scale Fish circled twice, realizing it couldn’t take down the young girls, turning during its leap.
"Is it going to escape?" Dorothy asked, looking at the fish.
"No! We can’t let it leave!"
Zoe was already furious after being continuously attacked by the Curse Scale Fish’s spells.
She used Celestial Maiden Stance to control the gale, instantly flying to intercept the fish’s path.
The Curse Scale Fish ignored the girl, attempting to retreat into the water.
Zoe rapidly descended, transforming into Ice Wolf Stance, fully converting the Light of the Star Soul, freezing the water surface the fish intended to dive into.
The Curse Scale Fish landed on the ice surface as the girl continued to strengthen her spell, enlarging the frozen area.
The Curse Scale Fish flicked its twin fins, generating a counter-wave of water, thrusting it back among the tree roots.
After switching positions, there were still tree roots available to give it support.
"Restrict its movement range, cutting tree branches is useful!"
Andasu pointed in one direction, Dorothy immediately summoned the Flower Beast to navigate through the tree root barrier, while Zoe continuously attacked with magic and swordsmanship to block the demon’s path with its massive body.
With frozen water surfaces and the Demon-Born Flower Giant Beast blocking the way, the Curse Scale Fish lost its escape route and had difficulty maneuvering.
ALulu swiftly swung her sword, slicing through the roots it used for leaping, soon encaging the fish in an area between complex roots and frozen surfaces where it had limited mobility.
Its remaining brute force faded away in Andasu’s paralyzing aroma.
Zoe tossed her sword within her hand, concentrating super-powerful Power of Earth Element, ready to slay it with determination.
"Be cautious, a more intact fish head makes better equipment," Li Ang reminded from above.
"Got it!"
Zoe replied, thrusting her sword into the fish belly, cutting along the body to open it.
Having resolved the demon threat, the young girls momentarily relaxed.
"After decomposing the materials, proceed further," Li Ang smiled while saying, "There are more strong enemies ahead."
