Finding my Parents in Another World-Chapter 48: (Raorka) The Mayor of Temuril Part II
Raorka dreamed about a town in flames. He dreamed of the corpses of everyone strewn around Temuril. Lucerne. Drisnen. Artemis. Jareth. Lumina. Rowena. Maris. And at the center of it all was a beautiful yet terrible being.
The Demon of Lust.
She stood atop a burning town, a massacred town. And she smiled.
Then, with a jolt, he woke up, gasping for air, his body slick with cold sweat. It took Raorka some time to acclimatize himself, to remember where he was.
The Mayor’s mansion, Lucerne, kidnapper, Demon.....
Right! I was captured by the Demon!
He looked around in panic. And then he realized he was not alone. And he almost vomited again.
He was in some sort of cage in a room, behind what he assumed was one of the closed doors he had seen.
But he wasn’t alone.
In front of him was a bed. On it there were two naked bodies writhing. On top was Mayor Rokar, thrusting violently, his face twisted in a sinister grimace. Gone was the jolly old man persona Raorka had seen the first time he had met him. The Rokar in front of his now was like a hungry animal, filled with insatiable lust even as he thrust his pelvis faster and faster.
Raorka couldn’t see the face of the woman he was thrusting into, just her legs spread wide apart. Rokar was grunting loudly in exertion, but the woman below him was uncharacterically silent, no sound or moans from her at all.
Please no, don’t tell me...
It couldn’t be. Lucerne was with him, but Raorka refused to believe it was her being raped there. For it was of course a rape, the welts and bruises covering the entirety of the woman’s legs confirmed that. And Raorka had heard what the Mayor was like from one of his previous victims.
Please not Lucerne, no please
All the despair, the nausea inside Raorka slowly turned into rage. Blinding rage, a wildfire that spread through her veins, igniting every fiber of her being. Her vision blurred, not from tears, but from the overwhelming heat of her anger. And the magik inside him seemed to respond rising up in tandem, promising strength.
And then the Mayor climaxed inside the woman, his rhythmic pounding culminating in a guttural roar that seemed to come out of a monster more than a man.
"ROKAR!!" Raorka screamed from inside his cage, ramming against the walls, fruitlessly. As Rokar completed his rape, he slowly turned over, facing Raorka and smiling. And then Raorka was able to see the face of the woman for the first time.
It was not Lucerne.
But it was a face he recognized. A face he had seen at Fritten Inn after the first kidnapping.
It was Fiona.
Her face was almost unrecognisable. Her eyes were dead and withdrawn, devoid of hope. There were a few bruises around her neck, and a lot more on her breasts. Raorka quickly averted his eyes, but not before the momentary relief had flashed through. Relief that it was not Lucerne.
Raorka immediately felt intense guilt, the emotion threatening to completely dampen his rage.
And the Mayor didn’t miss that.
"Well well well, look what we have here." He said, huffing slightly from the exertion, but being able to quickly sit up again. His voice had lost all of the feigned good nature, and was now fully sneeringly evil.
"You felt relief didn’t you? A woman was raped right in front of your eyes, and you felt relief that it wasn’t your darling Lucerne at least? At least it was someone else!" He said, now standing up, still naked. His ugly body just served to complement his venomous words.
"How does it make you feel eh Fiona?" He said, slapping the girl on her breasts, causing her to wince. Fiona didn’t respond further though, she just lay there.
"I ASKED YOU A QUESTION BITCH!" Rokar roared and jumped on top of her again. He began violently slapping her, even as she now began screaming and thrashing about, trying to get him off.
"STOP THAT." Raorka roared and pounded on the wall of the cage again.
Rokar did, and then he looked back, a look of amusement back on his bearded, grotesque face. He stepped off of Fiona, who had immediately returned to her hopeless, silent state.
"Ah, look at him. The hero." He said mockingly as he stepped off the bed and came close to the cage Raorka was in. He knelt down, his face in a sneer. Raorka gritted his teeth, as his nostrils were assaulted by the pungent odour coming from the Mayor.
"I have killed a thousand heroes like you in my lifetime kid. All of them hypocrites like you. All of them spouted such noble oaths about justice and virtue, yet when it became personal they would throw away all of that. They would happily kill a street beggar, throw a child to the wolves as long as it wasn’t someone they cared about."
"Where.Is.Lucerne?" Raorka asked through gritted teeth.
Rokar looked at him through the cage with something akin to disappointment and then shook his head.
"Tch tch tch you never learn. A woman was brutalized in front of you. And all you can think about is your darling."
"I swear Rokar if you have done anything to her, I will gouge your eyes out."
Rokar threw his head back and laughed, his guffaw echoing monstrously in the room.
"Will you now?" He said, a twinkle still in his eyes.
"WHERE IS SHE?" Raorka roared back, punching against the wall of the cage again, trying compelling his magik to work in vain.
"Don’t worry. Your darling Lucerne is safe in my dungeon. For now. But don’t worry, soon enough I will bring her up her, strip her in front of you and you can watch as I take her virginity. Maybe even tomorrow."
"I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU."
"Ooh that’s the attitude to have." Rokar said cheerfully and then stood up. He walked over back to the bed and sat down on it. Now he was facing Raorka.
"You know, I have been a General in this southern part of Anasuril for a long, long time. I have faced many rebellions, many bandits, many monsters even during peace time. A lot of people assume that peace means boring days for soldiers who have nothing to do. I would ask them to come out here and see the price at which that ’peace’ is achieved." His voice was grave, but all Raorka felt was rage.
"Well, one thing I learnt very very early on is the easiest way to break a man." Rokar continued. "Do you know what that is?"
Raorka spat through the walls of the cage. Rokar looked quietly down and then continued on as if nothing had happened,
"The easiest way to break a man is to capture a woman close to him. His wife. His sister. His mother. And then rape the bitch in front of him. It will break even the most steadfast of enemies. For years, there were no bandits, no separationists, no enemies of the Crown who dared to come into my domain for fear of their families. And what did I get for that? As soon as the Crown found out, they put me out to pasture." His eyes were blazing with passion now.
"Put me?! ME??? I, WHO AM THE SOLE REASON WHY YOU WERE ABLE TO LIVE SO CAREFREELY?" Rokar was shouting now, his anger at the Crown for a moment so genuine that even Raorka was almost carried away by it.
"For good reason, you are a heinous criminal. You didn’t do what you did for some misplaced sense of loyalty to the Crown, you did it because you couldn’t control your lust." Raorka responded back, his voice still shaking with rage, astounded at the depths to which a man could sink. Once more he tried to channel his rage to his magik, once more it was in vain. He could feel the magik moving around in his veins within him, but it just wouldn’t come out for some reason.
Rokar laughed. A cruel, mocking laugh.
"You can think what you want. I don’t care. Certainly maybe I did it out of lust, but whatever the reason no one, NO ONE, could argue with the results. The results being the safest the South has been in forever. Go to the North once, son. Go to the North and realize how good we have it down here."
"I can’t imagine anything would be worse than a Mayor who kidnaps and rapes his own citizens."
Rokar whipped towards him. His face still had a grotesque smile, but Raorka saw that his eyes were cold and angry.
Good. Fuck you you son of a bitch.
"You will learn soon, young Raorka. You will learn when I break Lucerne right in front of you and you flounder about in your cage. And then further on, you will learn again."
Raorka shook in anger and was about to punch the wall again when something in Rokar’s words gave him pause.
What does he mean again?
Rokar must have noticed the glimpse of confusion on his face for he smiled widely now.
"Why do you think," Rokar said slowly getting up from the bed again, "I started kidnapping women from Temuril?"
"Because you are an irredeemable monster."
"Ah but as you have already deduced, I was already using the lies of sending people to the Royal Guard to get women to willingly come here. Why would I take a risk? Why would I start wantonly picking up girls in addition to that?"
A question Raorka had no answer for. He stared back defiantly at the monster.
"Well Mr. Detective? No answer? Will you think back to when the first kidnapping happened?"
Silence. Rokar was playing games with him. Raorka couldn’t allow himself to be taken in, he had to figure out a way to escape this structure. And then he could strangle the monster.
"No answer? Well do you recognize this?" Rokar stood up straight and then went to a desk beside the bed. From on top he took a very familiar photograph and then brought it in front of Raorka. He smiled with his yellow teeth as he knelt down to allow Raorka to investigate the photograph.
And immediately Raorka’s blood went cold.
"No...you fucking can’t mean..."
Of course Raorka recognized the photograph. It was the one in his pocket of his mother and father celebrating his birthday last year with him. The one thing he had brought from Earth here.
And the photograph he had given to the Mayor when he had promised to help find them.
"It was your mother. Your mother is the reason I started kidnapping these girls."
