Fire Mage-Chapter 680 Lord Of Chaos
Chapter 680: Lord of Chaos
Around five millennium years ago, a young prodigy emerged from the 'Edhen' World and participated in the Star Tombs Dungeon. Although people from the Edhen World had been participating in the Star Tombs Dungeon since the first Arcane Era, none managed to move past the fourth Layer.
Moreover, the Lord of that time was not the Devil Crow but the Tree of Bones and Fleshes, aka the Lord of Chaos. It was a unique Arch-Lich being born from the Undead Plane and gained the power to rule over Death and Corruption.
Although it rose to become a Divine being, it didn't last long due to its unfortunate encounter with a Star Being.
In 2 seconds, the Lord of Chaos' divine kingdom and his divine throne were destroyed and even forcefully assimilated to create this Dungeon.
What was more unfortunate was that it became the boss of this Fourth Layer. Although it gained the extra power to resurrect endlessly within this domain, it wasn't an omnipotent being and had no freedom.
The young prodigy of the Edhen World confronted the Lord of Chaos around five millennia ago and defeated it quickly. After that, he used the teleportation Circle and became the first person from the Edhen World to go to the Fifth Floor.
Going by the usual logic of the Star Tombs Dungeon, the Lord of Chaos would have been resurrected within six months and continue to do its duty as the boss monster.
Unfortunately, something else happened just as the young prodigy left for the fifth Layer.
A sudden black sun appeared in the Fourth Layer's sky and blocked the Chaos Sun. Following that, it started absorbing all the evil and wicked emotions within this Layer and soon exploded, resulting in countless deaths of different races.
The surviving beings soon became a slave of a devilish being in the name of the Sacred Oath Contract.
That devilish being was none other than Devil Crow, aka Lord Nyxen.
By the time the Lord of Chaos resurrected, the whole Layer became that being's control.
What was terrifying was that the Devil Crow even took control of the Teleportation Circle and became a firm ruler.
Shockingly, the Guardian of this Layer also ignored this matter.
Although the Lord of Chaos still had the power to resurrect, it soon realized that it was not an easy feat to defeat the Devil Crow anymore because of the large number of subordinates under its control.
From that day onwards, the Lord of Chaos went into hiding and waited for an opportunity to regain its lost throne with a few of its trusted aides.
'If the Devil Crow indeed has laid an egg or created it through experiment, it must be very important to it. Truthfully, the base of Devil Crow has already become a part of that crow's domain, increasing its power twofold. Not only that, but its strange oath method to enslave all the demons and other living beings from different planes also made it invincible in this place. But what our Lord fear most is the Guardian of this Layer. Although he looks neutral on the outside, the Devil Crow managed to tamper the Teleportation circle with the Guardian's help. I think we need to rethink our whole plan. The previous plan to use the humans to stop the Guardian from interfering was only an extra. From the very beginning, the Lord of Chaos and his only friend, Chaos Knight, aka my master, were planning to confront both the Guardian and the Devil Crow by themselves. Meanwhile, the Black Dragon race will try their best to stop the humans from interfering. Because of the reckless and suicidal mission, this plan was postponed multiple times already. But if the information given by this young human is true, we might have a chance to turn over the whole situation.'
"Then, I'll take my leave." Charles stood up from his seat, walked towards the wooden door, and suddenly stopped as he recalled something.
"Don't delay too long. Five days." As he spoke, he quietly opened the door and walked away, leaving the winged demon in deep silence.
'Five days? Is he for real? How can we form a plan in five days?' But he soon stopped overthinking and decided to relay everything that happened here to the Lord of Chaos and his master.
...
On the other hand, Charles quietly left the pub and started walking towards the War Castle's entrance gate through the paved road. Before long, he silently left the War Castle and entered the Ancient Trinket forest. After that, he cast the [Fallen Angel's Wings] spell and flew towards the southern direction, where the Human Settlement resided.
Another day passed as he continued to travel at an incredible speed. 𝗯𝐞𝗱𝐧𝗼𝐯𝐞𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
At noon of the next day, he finally saw a large fortified fortress standing in the middle of a vast terrain.
"Finally, I can get some fresh air." He took a deep breath and started to shapeshift into a young kid, around 16 years old. His blue skin began to fade and was replaced by olive skin, his eyes became an emerald color, his bluish-green hair turned blonde, and even his height was adjusted to 160 cm.
After that, he took out the black robe and wore it over his stiff dress made of the fur of a beast.
Then, he slowly descended to the ground and landed on the rough, barren land. Although a few greenish plants appeared here and there due to somewhat pure mana in the surroundings, all those plants were still affected by the chaotic air and appeared mutated.
Taking a deep breath, Charles took a step forward and started walking towards the Baston Fort.
As Charles approached closer to the fort's entrance, two figures flew from above the fortress wall and landed before him.
One was a sturdy, blonde-haired muscular man, while the other one was a lean, robed mage.
"Welcome to Boston Fort, Mage Charles from Earth." The robed mage walked forward and said with a polite smile.
"You know me?" Charles blinked his eyes in surprise and asked, even though he knew how they knew about him.
"A day ago, a friend named Alistair returned to the Baston Fort and asked us for information about you. He also told us to give you some guidance if you stop by. Well, I can tell you where he is staying right now." The robed mage paused for a moment and soon introduced himself.
"By the way, I'm Maverick, a member of the Holem Family. It is one of the influential Mage families in the Edhen World and has a powerful Demi-God backing." He said with a boasting tone.
Charles nodded his head and introduced himself.
"I'm Charles from Earth. Mr. Maverick, can you please guide me to Alistair? I also want to meet the leader of this base to ask something important."
"Commander Erwin isn't someone anyone can meet." The muscular man interjected.
"Don't mind him. I'll get an appointment with him sooner and send someone to inform you." Maverick said calmly and waved his hand.
A second later, the tall metallic gate before them started to open, revealing a grand sight to Charles's eyes.
As Charles walked into the fortress, he saw a pure bluish sky with multiple stars hanging everywhere. Not only that, he even saw an endless amount of greenery and even mountains far ahead.
Instead of small tents or military houses, what he saw were thousands of single, two-storied houses, and even mansion houses. Not only that, he even saw many strange human-like beings with no souls walking everywhere.
"Lord Erwin is a powerful Alchemist and also a Rune Mage. After he found this base for Humans, he made his pocket dimension into a haven for everyone and even allowed people to buy houses inside. And to make things easier for us, he even created a large number of homunculus and rented them out using elemental crystals as basic currency."
"Impressive." That was all Charles could say as he saw the grand sight.
"So, where is Alistair staying? As long as you tell me the address, I can go by myself and look for him." Charles said as he noticed that there were only around five long streets in the pocket dimension.
"He bought a new house on the fourth street. If you go on this road, you will find door numbers at every house's entrance. Alistair's house number is 24C." Maverick said while pointing his fight at a particular street junction.
Meanwhile, Charles thanked him and started walking in the direction of Fourth Street.
He quietly walked on the smooth concrete road while taking a look at both sides and soon arrived before a single-storied house with a small lawn in the front. Two large trees shadowed the porch entrance and appeared to be welcoming the visitors,
Charles first opened the fence gate and started walking on the grass-surrounded pathway.
Before long, he arrived in front of the entrance door and knocked it twice.
After a few seconds of waiting, a short blue-haired man with broad shoulders opened the door from inside and welcomed him with a smile.
"Good to see you again, Charles," Alistair greeted him.
