Power, immense or otherwise, always comes with a price.

That universal law is true for everyone, and the Tathamet brides are not an exception to that rule.

Thus far, they have avoided paying the toll on their unfair abilities due to the nature of their relationship with their husband.

Because they share his life force, their own individual talents are enhanced by his energy, as well as bestowing on them a few unique abilities.

However, when they push their abilities beyond the umbrella of protection that Abaddon's marking gives to them, will all begin to experience certain drawbacks.

They won't all be as bad as Bekka's mind you.

Most of her struggle came from her age and the kind of divinities that she possessed.

Bekka is only twenty-two years old.

And her body houses not only gluttony and sloth, but void of all things to boot.

Her mind is no longer physically or spiritually old enough to rule all of that power like she could before.

Now that she has crossed the boundaries of physical form, her powers are like loud voices in her head; each fighting with her to do what they demand of her or else she will physically feel the consequences.

Her divinity of longing only makes things 100 times worse.

She longs to be satiated, content, rested, and full by absolutely any means necessary.

Had Abaddon made the mistake of allowing Bekka to eat any part of Mars, she would have never been able to stop herself.

She would have needed more and more sustenance to bring her satisfaction, until eventually she became as her husband once was.

She would have gone from planets to stars to asteroids, then suns, and finally universes. All the while never truly satiating herself.

'For the time being, I'm recommending that you stay in Tehom, Bekka. Since you and your loved ones share control over this space, it will lift your burden almost entirely. Only when you leave it will you feel like before.'

Bekka and Abaddon were both sitting on the floor, still holding each other tightly.

Tatiana and Sif had also come running when they felt their lovers return home suddenly.

They too now sat on the ground with them as they kept their hands on Bekka's back- just as a way to let her know that they were there for her.

"So I'll be stuck down here… forever? While my family fights above?" Bekka had already calmed down from earlier, but now she looked like she was about to cry again.

'N-No, no!' Yesh shook his head hard.

'Just until you find a way to control yourself… or you age a few thousand years… w-whichever comes first.'

"I see…" Bekka said quietly.

Even though he hadn't done anything wrong, Yesh still felt responsible for everything that had transpired.

"Will this happen to all of us..?" Tatiana questioned.

Yesh nodded.

'It will, though there are a few discrepancies… I wager the older women will feel less of a burden than Bekka did today, and those with less powerful and volatile divinities will probably only be more pleasant to be around.'

The girls thought of Eris and Lisa in that moment. If those women became any sweeter they would send all of dragonkind into diabetic comas.

But they also thought of Lailah. She was already scary enough when she became bossy, so they honestly didn't know if they could handle anymore.

And what about Seras? What ever would become of their favorite raging blood goddess?

But soon they also remembered Valerie and her powerful sex divinity… and somehow things didn't feel all that dire anymore.

'But you understand what that means for you, don't you,Tatiana A'Une?' Yesh asked.

Tatiana nodded solemnly.

Behind Bekka, Tatiana had the most raw destructive power in the group.

There was no real telling just what she could do, or what would happen to her body.

While she was mulling over this, Yesh let his gaze wander over towards Abaddon.

Other than asking that first question, his oldest creation hadn't opened his mouth to speak during this whole period.

And Yesh, who knew literally everything, had no idea what the dragon was thinking.

But if he went based on prior knowledge of how he thought, he would guess that he was probably just worried.

'I will give you all some time to digest this information. If you should need me, you know where to find me.'

With no further words to share, Yesh vanished from the lovers' bedroom.

Silence persisted for a bit even after he left.

The only thing that finally interrupted it was the sound of Bekka's skin rubbing against her husband's.

She nuzzled against him so much that the skin on his cheek was practically peeled away.

"…I'm sorr-"

"You do not need to apologize to me again, Bekka. I'm well aware you didn't mean it."

Abaddon returned her affection, and the simple gesture resulted in another stream of tears leaving her face.

Which ended up getting transferred to Abaddon since she was currently nuzzling him to ease her broken heart.

"… I never wanted to talk to you like that. I don't want that to be who we are."

Sif: "You called me a fucking dipshit when I ate your parfait last week…"

"A-And then we had sex and I got over it, so stop picking on me for the things I said when I was hungry!"

Sif rolled her eyes at the disparity in treatment and Tatiana consoled her.

Abaddon ran his fingers through Bekka's hair affectionately.

He wanted to kiss her, to immerse himself in her, to stay with her for the rest of forever and make sure that she never even showed a sign of shedding another tear.

But the day wasn't quite over. The mission was still ongoing.

"Will you be alright here..?" He asked.

Bekka seemed to realize that her husband was trying to say goodbye to her.

She nodded her head solemnly and tried not to let her ears droop too much. "Y-Yea, I'll be fine… hurry and bring our son home, okay?"

"Of course."

Abaddon kissed all three women before he stood up to leave.

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…Bekka?"

"I-I don't know what's happening! My body just won't let go!"

When Abaddon stood up, Bekka had held onto him for dear life.

He tried to peel her off of him, but that only brought out a rather surprising confession.

"I can't release my arms! I feel like if I let go you're going to leave me and I won't see you ever again because I'm a bad wife and I'll miss you so much that I'll die!!!"

Abaddon had no idea which part of that he should address first.

It was then that he remembered the specifics of Yesh's words.

Being home would help Bekka deal with her challenges almost completely. But it would not fully erase them.

And evidently, Bekka embodying longing was making her much more clingy than she had been before.

"…"

Abaddon was a man with very distinctive fetishes.

He liked mature-looking women with big butts and sweet personalities.

But he also adored clingy women. He found it immensely endearing.

With Bekka striking all of his weaknesses and being in a very vulnerable position on top of that, Abaddon quite literally did not know if he was mentally strong enough to pull himself away.

'Dear Lord, give me strength…' He gulped.

'Hm? You say something, Tathamet?'

'G-Get out of my head, Yesh. This isn't exactly a Christ-like environment at the moment.'

'Is it ever?'

'Get out!'

- Hades

Ayaana and Mira were able to wrap up the conflict in the underworld fairly quickly after Themis was killed and Hades surrendered.

Mira even dispelled the snowstorm she had summoned that was causing havok to the underworld.

While Abaddon and Bekka were still trapped in who-knows-where, Mira and her mothers made their way towards the pit to finish the mission themselves.

As they already expected, falling took quite a long time.

But eventually, the group reached the red chamber where a sea of dead bodies were already waiting for them.

Hades, who was being drug along by his collar by Mira, immediately picked up the sight of his uncle Hyperion's headless corpse.

But to make matters worse? He couldn't see a single enemy soldier among the dead.

'What kind of hole did these guys crawl out of..?'

"Hey, where are the dead guys' souls??" Mira suddenly asked.

"The door probably ate them." Ayaana shrugged.

"Oh… So is this my new brother?"

"Sure is, sweet pea."

"Cool.." Mira muttered.

"Very cool indeed." Ayanna laughed. "Now shall we get your brother out of these stuffy chains?"

"Yea!"

Hades: 'This cute and fuzzy family dynamic is disorienting…'

Ayaana started floating towards the gates with Mira's hand in her own.

Just when she was about to disable the magical locks on the gates she suddenly paused in her tracks and smiled.

"What did I tell you, Mira? I knew you were worried for nothing."

*gasp!* "You mean..?"

"Mhm."

Ayaana touched the wedding crest that sat just below her dress.

It glowed sharp violet color that was nearly blinding, and a portal was created right before their eyes.

When Hades saw the individual who stepped into view, his jaw practically fell off his skull.

'Surrendering… was definitely the way to go.'
