FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 211: Doubt
It was already 6:20 PM when Blaze arrived at the mansion, looking a bit downcast. His earlier encounter with Tina had left a sour taste in his mouth and doubt in his heart. He had barely been able to focus on work after he had her thrown out of the company premises.
Even though Tina had said a lot of things maliciously, Blaze couldn't help considering her last statement about Amelia's condition and the fact that she may be hiding something from him.
Different heart-wrenching thoughts crossed his mind as he researched about her condition and a possible link to a terminal illness. He couldn't help but worry knowing fully well that her mother also died of a terminal disease.
'She is lying to you. Follow the trail. The doctor knows. Dr Ashley knows.' These words kept echoing in Blaze's heart, stifling his senses and fueling his rage. He needed answers. He had to be sure Amelia wasn't sick. He needed to know she wasn't hiding anything from him.
"Good evening sir." The mansion butler received Blaze's briefcase and suit jacket by the entrance, a polite smile framing his wrinkled face.
"Where is my wife?"
"She's upstairs, resting." The butler replied.
Blaze felt his heart skip a beat as he froze on a spot.
"Have she been resting all day?" He demanded, after reading that increased sleeping and drowsiness can be signs that someone's system is shutting down.
"Not entirely, sir. She spent most of the afternoon with the madam in the garden. She also spent a few minutes swimming at the indoor pool. It hadn't been long since she retired upstairs to rest." The butler patiently explained while wondering why the young master was spooked.
"Oh... Has she had dinner?"
"Not yet, sir."
"Hmm..." Blaze resumed on his path, climbing up the curved stairs. "Where is my mother?"
"The madam is in the kitchen with the chefs, making arrangements for dinner."
"What about Eugene? Has he arrived yet?" Blaze asked checking the time on his golden wristwatch.
"Yes sir. He arrived thirty minutes ago. He's currently in his bedroom."
Blaze arrived in front of Amelia's bedroom, his heart pounding in his chest. He retrieved his briefcase and suit jacket from the butler before signaling the latter to leave.
Taking in a deep breath, he slowly turned the doorknob and quietly pushed it open.
The soft and relaxing scent of jasmine, reminiscent of blooming spring flowers, greeted Blaze's nostrils as he stepped foot into the cozy bedroom. His longing eyes fell on the king-size bed where Amelia was snuggled under the sheet, sleeping peacefully.
Closing the door quietly behind him, he slowly made his way to the bed, putting his briefcase and jacket aside. He stood still for a while, staring into her serene sleeping face.
Her face was turned sideways and her silky golden brown hair was beautifully scattered on the pillow.
The way her fair skin glowed under the light, made Blaze temporarily forget about his worry as he reached slowly to touch her.
Amelia stirred a little before opening her eyes when she felt her husband's passionate touch.
"Hey!"
"Hello, beautiful." Blaze sat on the bed, beside her, his loving gaze drinking in her natural beauty.
"You're back," Amelia said softly as she turned to face him, a hypnotic smile spread across her face.
"Did you miss me?" Blaze asked lowering his gaze and nuzzling her on the cheek.
Amelia giggled like a child being tickled as she welcomed a passionate kiss from him.
"I missed you so much." She said in a muffled voice, parting her lips and giving him more access.
When Blaze broke away from her lips, they were both panting to catch their breath.
Amelia sat up to examine her husband thoroughly. She noticed something odd about him and said.
"You look stressed, sweetheart. Did you have a rough day or too much work?"
"Maybe. But I'm fine now that I'm with you. Tell me, how do you feel?"
"I feel fine," Amelia said stroking his face.
"Did you vomit today?"
"No." Amelia frowned.
"Was there any form of drowsiness, shortness of breath, fatigue or pains anywhere?"
Amelia felt her heartbeat quicken as she replied. "No. Where are all of these questions coming from? Do you think I'm sick?"

"I'm just worried. That's all." Blaze masked his fears with a smile. He hated himself for allowing Tina's words to get to him.
"You have nothing to worry about sweetheart. I'm perfectly fine. Okay."
Blaze nodded. "Okay. I'm sorry."
"It's fine." Amelia pulled him by the collar and gave him a reassuring kiss.
"So tell me, how did you spend your day?" Blaze asked.
"It was the best day ever."
Blaze listened to Amelia share her exhilarating day with him while looking out for any strange changes in her body but found none. He joked briefly about her fun day's experience with his mother. Then it occurred to him that she wasn't wearing her bracelet.
"I noticed you've not been wearing the bracelet I got you. Did you by any chance misplace it?"
"Oh no. It is with mom. I was having some skin reactions due to my allergy. So Mom suggested that I shouldn't wear it for the time being. Is there a problem?"
"No." Blaze shook his head. "I was just curious. That's all."
"Alright curious cat, it's time to get you off these clothes so you can take a shower," Amelia said pulling Blaze by his tie.
"As long as you join me." Blaze gingerly lifted her up amid her cute laughter and carried her into the bathroom.

After receiving the highest humiliation in her entire life all for the sake of a man she loved, Tina vowed to destroy every glimpse of hope and happiness between Blaze and Amelia. She vowed that she would not rest until she split up the couple.
Thankfully, aside from Blaze's secretary, no one else got to witness her shameful departure. She was discreetly removed from the building through a secret elevator that led straight to the parking lot.
Afterwards, she was given a final warning to never show her face on the company premises.
Instead of returning to the studio or home, Tina drove down to one of the five-star hotels in the city and checked into their presidential suite.
There, she discreetly attended to the wound Blaze had inflicted on her face while plotting her next move.
By the following day, she purchased a new smartphone using the false identity of a random individual.
With this new device, she created a new email account with the name and address of the same random individual.
Next, she forwarded the edited audio conversation between Amelia and Dr Ashely to Blaze's email and that of Amelia's father. She also forwarded a picture of Amelia with a young man holding hands like lovers and strolling out of a restaurant. This picture speculated the possibility that Amelia might be having an extramarital affair which had gotten her pregnant.
