FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 320: Forgiven
As the sun slowly disappeared beyond the horizon, the garden was painted with soft, warm hues like a canvas of tranquillity.
The gentle scent of blooming jasmine and fragrant herbs filled the air around the garden, evoking a sense of harmony and peace, making it the perfect place for quiet contemplation.
Nestled within the centre of the Hunt’s mansion garden was an immaculate white curved structure that mimics the gentle arc of a willow tree, adding to its ethereal nature.
The intricately shaped gazebo, which almost resembled a miniature castle, was surrounded by blooming flower beds and lush greenery.
The curved doom roof was adorned with delicate vines, woven with fairytale light which shimmered brightly at night.
Henry sat on one of the plush velvet cushions, his gaze fixed on a blooming pink flower, his thoughts far away from all the magical beauty around him.
By his side was a red and gold designed gift bag containing a beautifully packaged indulgent milky sphere-shaped chocolate, each wrapped in gold foil.
Henry couldn’t understand why Amelia asked him to come down here and wait for her. But he had a good feeling about this, considering the serene atmosphere perfect for a romantic outing.
He kept his hopes up, praying only for the best.
The distance, melodious chirping of birds made Henry peel his gaze temporarily away from the flower.
At that same exact moment, his gaze fell on a beautiful angel donned in a sleeveless floral chiffon gown, making her way towards the gazebo. She was holding a black shopping bag in one hand while holding up her long dress with the other.
The way the setting sun painted her mesmerising features with a soft, ethereal glow felt as if she were bathed in a celestial embrace.
The way her loose blond hair delicately fell on her shoulder, caressing her porcelain skin, created a gentle flowing vision of flawless elegance. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
But what captivated Henry the most was her magical smile. For someone mad at him, she wasn’t frowning. Just smiling sweetly.
This made Henry feel like an eagle soaring high up into the sky and gliding flawlessly in the wind.
"Sarah..." Henry felt his heart drumming so loudly in his chest as if it was about to leap out and hug her. He abruptly stood up, unsure whether to approach her or remain standing where he was.
But her smile made him take one step and another until they were both standing face-to-face by the entrance to the gazebo.
"Hi..."
They both spoke at the same time and chuckled feverishly.
"You go first." Sarah gestured, blushing at the way Henry was acting like a love-struck teenager before her.
"You look absolutely gorgeous..." Henry heard himself saying instead of first apologising for his misdeeds. But he quickly recovered from the spell her beauty had cast on him and rephrased his statement.
"What I meant to say is that I’m sorry for my actions today. I didn’t mean to make you upset, and I promise I’d never..."
"Shh..." Sarah placed her right forefinger on Henry’s lips, stopping him from ruining the mood. She had already forgiven him even when she realized he hadn’t done anything to offend her.
Henry felt his breath hitch at that innocent but alluring touch. He stared deeply into her magically shimmering sea green eyes, falling helplessly into that ethereal, bottomless abyss.
"You don’t have to be sorry. I overreacted. You were simply trying to protect me from falling into the hands of a jerk, and for that, I’m grateful." Sarah’s voice was soft as velvet and sweet like honey, melting Henry’s heart the more. She slowly removed her finger from his lips, smiling.
"You’re not angry at me?" Henry couldn’t believe his ears. His heart was racing like a car in overdrive, and his entire world felt as though it was spinning on a magical carousel.
"No." Sarah shook her head slowly, her smile deepening. Though the cold, fresh air around her tingled her exposed skin, standing before this tall,, handsome beauty made heat rush to her face.
"Henry, I know what I said about us remaining as platonic friends until I’ve been able to overcome my fears. But I can’t deny that I don’t have feelings for you. I like you a lot, and you have proven to me that you can be trusted. Nevertheless, I don’t want to be rushed. I want to take my time exploring my feelings so that I don’t make mistakes."
"I understand." Henry nodded, even though he was unable to process what was happening right now. Everything felt strange, as if he were in a romantic movie set with Sarah being the captivating female lead.
’What did Amelia say to her to make her sound this forgiving and sweet?’ Henry pondered in his heart.
"Henry..." Sarah cut into Henry’s thoughts, taking hold of his right hand. "Thanks for watching my back and saving me from disgrace. You are a good man, and I count myself lucky to have you as a friend."
"Someone pinch me because I think I’m dreaming."
Henry mistakingly said out loud, awakening Sarah’s playful nature. She wasted no time granting him his wish while chuckling at his animated reaction.
"Thank you, Sarah. Honestly, I haven’t been myself since we last spoke. I don’t think I can survive you being mad at me. Your smiles mean the whole world to me, and I don’t want to be that person who makes you cry. It will be my greatest honour to always have your back for life. I meant it when I said I wanted to be your bodyguard."
Sarah’s cheeks turned beet red at Henry’s statement. She temporarily looked away, breaking eye contact with him.
"So, can I be your official bodyguard?" Henry took one of her hands into his, stroking the back slowly.
"That will be asking too much of you." Sarah pointed out, meeting his tender gaze again.
"No... It will be my greatest pleasure to keep you always safe, and I promise I won’t slack on my duties."
Sarah chuckled, loving every bit of Henry’s charming aura.
