Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict-Chapter 815 - : 814 Did I ever deceive Ranran?
Chapter 815: 814 Did I ever deceive Ranran?
Wen Ran felt that Mo Xiuchen’s smile was impenetrably mysterious.
Her eyes flickered for a moment, and a certain speculation flashed through her mind, which she quickly suppressed. He couldn’t possibly have realized she was feigning sleep, right?
Mo Xiuchen descended the stairs and in a few steps arrived in front of her, looking at her tenderly. “Ranran, liking sleep isn’t a bad thing. You can eat breakfast and then continue sleeping.”
Wen Ran humphed twice. “You talk as if I’m a pig. I’m not going to sleep anymore. I’m off to eat breakfast.”
With that, she strode toward the kitchen. Mo Xiuchen’s gaze followed her into the kitchen, and Wen Jin said indifferently, “If you don’t have to go to the company today, you could take Ranran out for a walk.”
Upon hearing Wen Jin’s words, Mo Xiuchen drew back his gaze, frowning slightly, “I actually do need to go back to the company in a little while.” His voice paused, and then he glanced again in the direction of the kitchen, listening to the sounds of Wen Ran and Auntie Li from the kitchen. He lowered his voice a bit. “If I cling to Ranran all day, she’ll definitely find me annoying.”
...
A sharp light flashed in Wen Jin’s eyes and then he smiled, agreeing with Mo Xiuchen’s statement. “She definitely will.”
He understood his sister; if the knot in her heart wasn’t untied, no amount of persuasion from the people around them would be useful unless one day she came to terms with it, or Mo Xiuchen remembered the past and moved Ranran with his deep affection.
Until then, her feelings toward Mo Xiuchen were probably a mix of wanting to be close yet not daring to be too intimate.
Wen Ran helped to serve breakfast, and Wen Jin and Mo Xiuchen sat at the dining table chatting. In Wen Jin’s opinion, the amnesiac Mo Xiuchen seemed easier to get along with than before.
And the attitude towards him was certainly better than the previous Mo Xiuchen’s.
With Wen Jin present, Wen Ran didn’t have to face Mo Xiuchen alone. The atmosphere at the dining table was pleasant. After breakfast, both Mo Xiuchen and Wen Jin went off to the company, while Wen Ran went to water the flowers in her garden.
When her phone rang, Wen Ran had just finished watering. She set down her watering can and settled into a wicker chair in the yard, cheerfully answering the call. “Hello, Xiaoxiao!”

“Ranran, you got up pretty early today, huh. Didn’t Mo Xiuchen stay over last night?”
Over the phone, Bai Xiaoxiao’s suggestive voice came through. Wen Ran laughed and playfully scolded, “Bai Xiaoxiao, can you be any more dirty?”
“Haha, there’s a saying that a little absence is better than a new marriage. Ranran, you and Mo Xiuchen had been apart for a few months, I thought it might be like dry wood meeting a fierce fire. You accompanied him to the banquet last night. Come on, spill the beans, did you guys do anything…?”
“How did you know I went to a banquet?”
Wen Ran interrupted Bai Xiaoxiao. Last night, she and Mo Xiuchen had merely made an appearance and left after a short while.
“Of course, I know. I not only know that you accompanied Mo Xiuchen to a banquet, but I also know that you encountered Qi Meiling. Ranran, how did she bully you?”
By the end of her words, Bai Xiaoxiao’s tone shifted from teasing to concern.
A look of astonishment flitted across Wen Ran’s eyes, and she asked in surprise, “Xiaoxiao, are you clairvoyant or do you have super hearing? You even know I ran into Qi Meiling. Could it be, were you there last night too?”
“Guess!”
Bai Xiaoxiao laughed loudly on the phone.
Wen Ran’s mind raced, and after a few guesses flashed through her head, her expression changed slightly, and when she spoke again, her voice was calm but tinged with suppressed emotion. “Did Luo Haofeng tell you?”
“Ranran, Luo Haofeng wasn’t there, your encounter was with Qi Meiling,” Bai Xiaoxiao corrected over the phone, but however you heard it, the tone sounded insincere.
Rather, it came with a teasing lilt.
Wen Ran confirmed her guess, her calm heart like a lake ruffled by a gentle breeze. She tightened her grip on the phone and said, “It was Mo Xiuchen who told Luo Haofeng, and Luo Haofeng who told you.”
“Ranran, how could you guess that so quickly, it’s no fun at all. But, I bet you can’t guess what Mo Xiuchen said to Luo Haofeng?” Bai Xiaoxiao said proudly, “Mo Xiuchen’s kindness towards you, I’m really jealous. Ranran, you must have saved the Milky Way System in your past life to have an exceptional man like Mo Xiuchen in this life. Even without remembering you, he still protects you at every turn.”
Wen Ran pursed her lips, her emotions churning inside.
Even though she didn’t know exactly what Mo Xiuchen had said, she knew it must have been a warning to Luo Haofeng.
Because she had said last night that Qi Meiling fancied Luo Haofeng and had mistaken her for Bai Xiaoxiao, but she hadn’t expected that Mo Xiuchen would warn Luo Haofeng over such a small matter.
“Then didn’t you also save the Milky Way System? Luo Haofeng must be afraid Qi Meiling would bully you, so he called to remind you that she has come to G City,” Wen Ran retorted. Although Luo Haofeng and Xiaoxiao had broken up, his feelings for her were still evident.
Any perceptive person could see that.
Bai Xiaoxiao suddenly fell silent.
Because Wen Ran had hit upon her worries, Bai Xiaoxiao was quiet for a long time before she said in a low voice, “Ranran, come with me to a blind date.”
“Ah, you really jumped from one subject to another. How did we get to blind dates all of a sudden?” Wen Ran asked with a hint of laughter in her voice, knowing that after Bai Xiaoxiao had been out for over half a month, she was inevitably pressured into blind dates.
“I called you precisely to have you accompany me on a blind date. Ranran, where are you now? I’ll come to you.”
Her haunts were too many; Bai Xiaoxiao had no idea where to find her.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you.”
Wen Ran told Bai Xiaoxiao that she was at Wen Jin’s house, after which Bai Xiaoxiao said they would talk more once they met, and hung up the phone.
Kangning Hospital
In Gu Kai’s office at the hospital, Mo Xiuchen, seated on the sofa, his long, fair fingers gently stroking a glass, looked every bit the epitome of cool elegance.
Gu Kai, sitting on the opposite sofa, scrutinized him and finally said, “Mo Xiuchen, whether or not your memory can be restored is uncertain because during the surgery, Fu Jingyi damaged the hippocampus region that stores memory…”
Gu Kai spoke some medical terms, and Mo Xiuchen slightly frowned. He didn’t understand what Gu Kai was saying, but he grasped the general idea: his memory was intentionally erased, different from normal cases of atrophy and memory degradation.
“We can try reliving your past experiences with someone by your side.”
“Have I ever lied to Ranran by pretending to be sick?” Mo Xiuchen asked calmly, Gu Kai’s eyes flickered; he nodded, then shook his head and explained with a confused look on his face, “You didn’t pretend to be ill; you faked a car accident, deceiving Ranran.”
“A car accident?”
Mo Xiuchen furrowed his brows, trying hard to remember something, but his mind was blank.
“Why did I fake my death and deceive Ranran?”
Gu Kai lifted the cup and took a sip of coffee before speaking leisurely, “Originally, Ranran had sworn not to tell you about the past, nor let us speak of it. But since you now know the truth, there’s no need for me to keep hiding it from you.”
“I don’t care about the oath she made.” Mo Xiuchen’s expression became sober, his tone somewhat heavy.
