Flash Marriage: In His Eyes-Chapter 330: Miracles and Babies
–Sophia–
It’s been two weeks.
So much has happened in such a short time—and now, my baby is already fourteen weeks inside me.
Fourteen.
The doctor finally allowed me to come in.
I was sanitized from head to toe—hair tucked under a disposable net, gloves snug against my skin, a thin hospital gown rustling softly with every movement. A face mask covered half of me, but it couldn’t hide the way I was trembling.
I walked toward him slowly.
My husband.
My loving, handsome husband.
God... I missed him.
His laugh. His teasing. The way he always filled every room with warmth and chaos at the same time.
I reached for his hand—the one untouched by injury—and gently lifted it.
Carefully... so carefully...
I placed it over my stomach.
"Kai... wake up," I whispered, my voice soft but desperate. "Kai, it’s Sophia."
My throat tightened.
"Wake up, babe," I continued. "Guess what... I’m pregnant."
I let out a shaky breath.
"Our long-awaited blessing..."
I paused, forcing myself not to break. Not yet.
"You can’t just sleep there while I suffer through my first trimester," I added weakly, trying to sound like myself.
But my voice cracked anyway.
A sob clawed its way up my chest, and I swallowed it down. My chest felt tight—too tight—like I couldn’t breathe properly with all these emotions crashing into me at once.
"Babe... please," I whispered. "You can’t do this to me."
I stepped closer.
Turning slightly, I leaned my back gently against the side of the bed—careful not to move him, not to disturb anything. I guided his palm more securely over my navel without twisting his arm.
And in that quiet moment...
I felt it.
A faint movement.
Small. Gentle.
But real.
Our baby.
"I’ll ask Logan to build a dollhouse if it’s a girl," I murmured softly, smiling through my tears.
Then—
I froze.
His hand twitched.
My heart stopped.
Slowly, I turned my head toward his face.
His eyelids fluttered.
Just a little.
But it was enough.
I didn’t panic. I didn’t scream.
I calmly reached for the call button and pressed it.
Within seconds, the doctor rushed in.
I gently placed Kai’s hand back on the bed, my fingers lingering for a second longer before letting go.
His eyes were open now.
Looking at me.
But he was struggling—his head barely moving, his body still trapped in stillness.
"I’m here, babe," I said softly, stepping back to give space.
"Kai," Dr. White called, shining a small light into his eyes. She murmured instructions while the nurse quickly took notes.
He made a sound—a low, strained groan—but his lips barely moved.
Dr. White carefully removed his oxygen mask, checking his levels.
His eyes never left me.
And something about that look... told me this wasn’t over.
That there was still more to fight.
"P...hia..."
The sound was broken. Weak.
But it was him.
"Yes, Kai," I breathed, tears finally spilling freely. "I’m here."
I wiped my face, my hands shaking.
He’s awake.
My husband is awake.
I glanced toward the glass window.
Damon stood there, giving a small nod.
Francis looked like he could finally breathe again.
But none of that mattered.
All that mattered—
was that he came back to me.
–Livana–
The family lockdown nearly disrupted Alyssa’s studies. Fortunately, the dean arranged online classes exclusively for her, and it worked out well. My mother-in-law made sure that, despite being confined within the mansion, Alyssa would continue her education without compromise.
I also received news that Kai was finally awake and stable—paralyzed, yes, but recovering.
Instead of returning home immediately, Lore and I went straight to Japan, where our laboratory was located. If Kai ever needed an organ, we could create one using his DNA through our cloning process. It had already been tested on several of our agents.
One of them had undergone a heart transplant—from his own clone—and was still active and healthy.
So we began.
We started cultivating Kai’s clone.
Yes... without his permission.
What needed to be done simply had to be done. All that remained was to bring him here and proceed with the operation. I had already prepared the surgeons for any outcome.
"This is so fucked up," Lore muttered, looking around.
It was his first time here.
"I know," I replied with a quiet chuckle.
"Can I have my own clone?" he asked, half-joking. "I mean, if something happens to me, then that clone can be—"
"Those clones are not alive in the way we are," I cut in smoothly. "They are vessels. Nothing more."
I paused briefly.
"This... is what Tyrona is after. Kenzo is most likely exhausting every resource trying to locate this lab."
"And where is he now?" Lore asked.
"Somewhere in Switzerland," I answered casually.
We checked on Kai’s developing clone.
Then we left.
This time, we didn’t linger. We headed straight to our jet, already on standby. Within hours, we were back in the Philippines.
From there, we took a helicopter directly to my mother’s mansion, landing on the helipad by the vast lawn.
I adjusted my sunglasses as I stepped out.
Lore followed behind me, carrying his backpack. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Lore!" Alyssa’s voice rang out from afar.
"Mama!" Sky shouted.
"Mama!" the twins echoed.
All four of them ran toward us.
Lore immediately ran to Alyssa, even dropping his bag in the process.
I laughed softly, rolling my eyes as they collided into each other. He twirled her around, kissing her lips—until he suddenly hissed.
"Ow—"
He looked up.
David was leaning out the window.
"Stop making out!" he shouted through a megaphone.
On the other hand, the trio kept running toward me.
Then—
Sky tripped.
For a moment, I thought he would stand up on his own.
But he cried.
The twins stopped immediately and rushed to him.
"Mama!"
I ran to him and helped him up. There was blood on his knee—his shorts leaving it exposed.
"Oh no!" Zendaya gasped.
"Mama! Ouchie!" Sky cried.
I gently blew on his wound and kissed his forehead.
"I’m sorry, baby," I murmured, kissing his nose. "Next time, don’t run like that, alright? Mama will come to you."
He continued crying, the pain still fresh.
I glanced at the twins, who looked equally distressed. I kissed both of their heads before carrying Sky in my arms. The twins held onto the hem of my shirt as we walked back to the tent.
Jane was already there with the first aid kit—prepared as always.
I placed Sky on the table as she carefully treated his wound.
Gradually, he stopped crying.
The twins watched closely.
"Choose, baby," Jane said, offering him different bandages.
He pointed at the dinosaur one and smiled, revealing his tiny pearly teeth.
"I want one too," Zendaya said.
Jane handed her a choice as well.
Soon, all three of them were wearing matching cartoon bandages.
I sat down, and Sky immediately snuggled into me.
"Mama, did you get toys?" Zendaya asked eagerly.
I smiled.
"Yes, of course, my love."
I had already arranged for toys to be bought in Japan.
Logan arrived, pushing carts filled with luggage.
"Let’s head inside," I said.
Then I remembered those two.
Lore had his arm draped over Alyssa’s shoulders, dragging a suitcase with his other hand as they walked into the mansion.
I carried my dramatic little boy while the twins followed closely behind.
Finally—cool air.
The living room welcomed us with its chilled atmosphere. Choco lay sprawled across the floor, enjoying the air conditioning.
I placed Sky on the sofa and reached for a black suitcase.
Opening it, I revealed its contents.
"Wow!" Zendaya jumped excitedly. "I love you, Mama!"
She hugged me tightly, and Zayvier followed.
"I love you too," I said softly.
"Foodie?" Sky’s eyes lit up as I took out boxes of cookies.
He squirmed in excitement.
Yes—food.
He loved food.
I noticed Lore and Alyssa heading upstairs, him dragging a suitcase behind him.
"Of course, I bought things for my girl," he said, clearly pleased with himself.
"Jane!" Caine suddenly shouted from the other wing. "Jane! I think my wife is having contractions!"
I froze for a brief moment before standing.
Jane immediately rushed toward him.
Soon after, my grandparents—who had been about to greet me—grew alarmed as well.
But they couldn’t leave their area yet.
I pulled out my phone and called Kelly.
"Kelly, bring Doctor Green to the Rose Mansion."
"Got it."
I ended the call.
Dr. Green doesn’t know that I am alive.
She has been my OB since I was a teenager. She was the one who delivered Sky... Laura’s as well... and now, Deanne’s. But at a time like this, trust is a luxury we cannot afford.
"What’s going on?" Lore asked as he stepped in—topless, with a streak of blue paint across his back.
"Deanne is having contractions," I said calmly. "Can you watch over the kids for me?"
"Sure, sure."
I didn’t waste another second.
I headed to the other wing and went straight to Deanne’s room.
She was standing beside the four-poster bed, gripping the post, breathing through the pain.
"Don’t pee," I told her.
"Yes, that’s what Jane said too," she snapped, clearly irritated. "But I feel like I need to pee!"
"I’ve already called for Dr. Green."
A small smile tugged at my lips despite the tension.
"I can’t wait to see the baby," I admitted softly.
Caine looked at me and raised a thumbs-up, though the anxiety in his eyes betrayed him.
Then—
everything stilled.
A quiet shift in the air.
And suddenly—
her water broke.
"Fuck!" Deanne screamed. "I fucking hate you, Caine!"
I pressed my lips together, holding back a laugh.
Even in chaos...
life insists on arriving, loud and unapologetic.
