Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 41: Maxwell Peary, someone says she is your wife
Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Maxwell Peary, someone says she is your wife
"You! Sharp-tongued!" Belinda Swan was so angry she didn’t know what to say to her. A person with no upbringing is still a person with no upbringing; climbing the social ladder won’t change their fundamental nature.
Nia Mitchell gradually calmed down. She reached for her phone, intending to call Maxwell Peary, but then she suddenly realized something: she didn’t even know the name of this crazy woman in front of her.
"Hey, what’s your name?"
Belinda Swan shot Nia Mitchell a disdainful look and lifted her chin proudly. "Belinda Swan, from Swan Bank," she announced, then grabbed her phone from her bag and made a call.
Nia Mitchell shrugged. Is she calling Maxwell Peary?
Could it be... they really have something going on?
Before Nia Mitchell could finish speculating, she heard the aggrieved tone in Belinda Swan’s voice.
"Uncle Peary, that woman is here at Royal Bay Villa, and it’s so late!"
Nia Mitchell shivered and rubbed her arms; goosebumps had broken out all over her skin.
"She refuses to leave. No amount of money will make her go."
...
"Yes, just as Mrs. Mu said: she has no upbringing, no class, and is particularly faction-minded."
...
"And don’t even mention Butler Kim! I don’t know what benefits she gave him, but he’s siding with her against me."

"Okay, I understand. Yes, yes. Uncle Peary, you need to take care of your health too. Alright, I’ll be sure to visit you often."
Belinda Swan’s face was beaming, but the moment she hung up the phone, her smile vanished completely.
"Nia Mitchell, is it? Uncle Peary said that if you don’t know what’s good for you, we might have to resort to other measures."
She looked so innocent, as if it all had nothing to do with her. But she slandered me right to my face! Does she think I’m deaf?
Nia Mitchell chuckled. Lying, is it? Who can’t do that?
Right in front of Belinda Swan, she dialed Maxwell Peary’s number.
BEEP—
After one ring, the call was quickly answered.
"Miss me that much? Honey, I’m almost home."
His long, fair hands rested on the steering wheel. Maxwell Peary was in a great mood, a smile playing on his lips as he leaned back slightly in his seat.
"What should we have for dinner tonight?" Maxwell Peary glanced at his watch. It was already past seven. For the first time, he felt the abandoned warehouse was a bit too far from the villa.
Nia Mitchell pouted. She had wanted to immediately unleash a tirade on him, but hearing his gentle, magnetic voice, all her anger vanished in an instant.
Stifling the grievance in her heart, Nia Mitchell tried her best to speak in the steadiest voice possible.
"We have a guest at home."
Nia Mitchell fidgeted with the hem of her clothes and bit her lip.
"She says she’s your wife."
Future wife, that is. *Cough, cough.* It’s not really a lie. And she wasn’t being jealous or exaggerating. A child who tells the simple truth is the cutest.
SCREECH—
Hearing Nia Mitchell’s words, Maxwell Peary was momentarily distracted and nearly crashed into the car in front. He swerved sharply, and a long screech of brakes followed from behind him.
Maxwell Peary, completely unfazed by the near-miss of a major multi-car pile-up he had almost caused, sat up straight and said with utmost seriousness, "I only have one wife. Today, I kissed her several times. We even went to the Supermarket and bought supplies for our wedding night..."
"Maxwell Peary, shut up!"
Even over the phone, Nia Mitchell’s face flushed crimson. How can he say such things so easily? Doesn’t he have any restraint at all?
"Have you no shame?" Nia Mitchell complained coquettishly. "She came all the way here, wanting to give me money to make me leave you."
Maxwell Peary frowned and floored the gas pedal. He was going to see for himself who dared to act so presumptuously at Royal Bay Villa.
"Tell her all my money is yours. If she can match my entire net worth, then by all means, take her money."
