Floating Islands: SSS Gacha Lord-Chapter 47 - Running from Rage
Chapter 47: Chapter 47 - Running from Rage
Milo let out a guttural, ear-shredding scream. Another shockwave blasted out from his body, ripping through the area. Stones shattered. Debris flew. Even the very air felt warped from the raw surge of fury.
The troops, who just moments ago had been laughing, teasing, demanding that Milo "show his real power" were now diving for cover in pure panic.
"AAAAAHHH!!! HE’S SHOWING IT!! HE’S SHOWING IT FOR REAL!!!"
"I TAKE IT BACK!! I TAKE EVERYTHING BACK!! I LOVE CARD TRICKS!!"
"I didn’t mean ’show your power’ like THIS, you psycho!!!"
"I have regrets! I have so many regrets!"
"Someone grab a sock! Stuff it in his mouth before he screams again!"
One poor soldier clung to a tree, eyes wide with terror. "Help! I bit my tongue while screaming!"
Another rolled under a table, shaking. "I just wanted a cool magic trick... not a death sentence!"
Several others scrambled to hide behind Karian, who wasn’t even trying to shield them.
"This is why I only trust healers!"
And in the midst of it all, Edrik muttered dryly, "Now that’s more like a Rank-S."
"Wait! Don’t ruin my plants!" Mira cried from across the field.
Milo turned his head, sneering. "Who cares? I don’t!" His face twisted further. "You stupid rabbit! Get rid of those pathetic, pleading eyes of yours!"
"Milo, get a grip on yourself!" Karian shouted, stepping forward. "If you don’t, we’ll stop you by force."
"Don’t call me Milo!" the creature roared, eyes blazing. "I’m Raze!"
Karian squinted. "Look, I know you’re filled with ’rage’. But can you please control yourself in front of the Lord?"
"I’m Raze, you motherf*er!" Milo bellowed. "You brainless meat tower, I’ll slap your mouth into the next timeline and send you crying back into your mom’s womb!"
Karian blinked... then grinned. "Oh, damn. I like this guy."
Raze’s glare snapped to Kurogasa next. "You filthy rat. Don’t even breathe near me with that sewer stink of yours."
Kurogasa raised a brow, utterly unbothered. "Our new friend might be in need of a lesson... preferably the kind taught through bruises."
Meanwhile, Atlas’s mind was racing. Raze?
Who the hell was he? What triggered this transformation?
He pulled up the status again.
[Name: Raze]
[Level: 62]
[Strength: 411 | Agility: 134 | Intelligence: 56 | Constitution: 210 | Stamina: 221]
Everything had changed. Not just the name, his entire status profile.
Brutal stat spikes. Strength, Constitution, Stamina, all massively boosted.
What the hell...?
[Job: Specialized Fighter]
[Rage-Fueled Strength (SS) - Ferocious Combo (A) - Unstoppable Charge (A) - Echoing Roar (B) - Guttural Taunt (A) - Single-Minded Focus (B)]
[Rage-Fueled Strength: Physical power surges to terrifying levels, allowing effortless lifting and destruction.]
[Ferocious Combo: A barrage of brutal, rapid strikes that overwhelms defenses and limits escape.]
[Unstoppable Charge: Charges forward with immense momentum, tearing through obstacles and opponents alike.]
[Echoing Roar: A roar that amplifies in open areas, creating an almost seismic auditory effect.]
[Guttural Taunt: Unleashes instinctive, aggressive taunts and gestures, provoking enemies and drawing aggro.]
[Single-Minded Focus: Locks onto a target with obsessive focus, ignoring allies, strategy, or surrounding dangers.]
Atlas stared at the status window, heart pounding.
This... this is Raze?
He swallowed hard. Milo’s transformation was more than a personality shift. It was an entirely different being, a berserker wrapped in raw, explosive energy.
The stats didn’t lie, over 1000 total points, surpassing even Morganna, despite her being a higher level.
Raze wasn’t just strong. He was overkill.
And then, a system prompt flickered across Atlas’s vision:
[Warning: Uncontrolled behavior detected in designated subordinate.]
[Engage override protocols to neutralize the object?]
"Raze had appeared the moment Garen touched Milo."
"Was it physical contact?" he muttered under his breath. "Did that trigger the transformation?"
He needed answers. Fast.
Without hesitation, Atlas mentally commanded the system: Activate the Teleportation Pad.
"Karian!" Atlas called as he pointed toward the glowing pad.
Karian, catching on instantly, turned back toward Raze with a wicked grin. "Hey! Don’t just bark. Prove those oversized muscles of yours aren’t just for show!"
With a taunting wave, he spun around and dashed toward the portal.
Raze’s eyes blazed. "You flimsy, soft-boned fool! Don’t think you can run! I’m gonna crush those brittle bones of yours and wear your ribs like a necklace!" he howled, storming after him with terrifying speed.
"Go!" Atlas shouted, breaking into a sprint.
He leapt onto the pad just as Karian reached it, followed immediately by Edrik, Kurogasa, and Lyrassa. The moment they were all aboard, the pad’s light surged.
**
Atlas stepped off the portal platform and was immediately hit by the sweltering heat of Flare Peak. A sensation that, oddly enough, was beginning to feel almost familiar.
Moments later, the others materialized around him. Morganna strode forward, taking her place at his right. On his left, Mira bounced out of the portal with boundless energy, her heels barely touching the ground.
"Woah... this island is so much fun!" she exclaimed, eyes sparkling.
Atlas gave a dry smile. "You might become a roasted rabbit if you stay here too long, Mira."
Mira giggled, leaning in toward him. "My Lord... but I don’t think my meat would taste as good as the rabbit you’re imagining."
She tilted her head playfully. "See?" She leaned in closer, lifting her chest just slightly. "I have a human face, a human body... and even this chest... and it—"
"Mira, stop it!" Atlas interrupted sharply, sighing as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. Her weaponized cuteness had already claimed far too many victims tonight.
"Forgive me, My Lord," Mira said sweetly, batting her lashes, and somehow making it even worse with her exaggerated apology.
Behind them, a few of their companions stumbled back with nosebleeds, barely held up by the others.
Atlas groaned and massaged his forehead, fighting the rising headache. He turned his gaze toward the distance.
There, he spotted Raze, still thundering after Karian, tearing across the burning landscape like a storm of rage barely contained.
Kurogasa had already darted ahead, joining the fray in an attempt to help Karian rein in Raze. But to anyone watching... It looked far more like an intense game of brutal chase than any kind of control effort.
"Are you really going to let them go at it like this?" Morganna asked quietly, arms crossed as she watched the chaos unfold.
"No. We don’t kill anyone here," Atlas muttered, rubbing his temples. His headache was growing by the minute.
He sighed again. "Can they actually kill each other?"
"No. They’re both too tough. But you could stop them by force. So... why haven’t you?"
Atlas didn’t answer right away. He could use the system’s override authority. One command, and Raze would be frozen in place. But that wasn’t the point.
He didn’t want to control his people like tools. Not without understanding them first.
Especially this one, this unpredictable individual with two wildly different personas. Milo and Raze. Two extremes in one body.
So... if there was a chance to reach him without force, he still wanted to try.
"I want to understand this guy named Raze a little better," Atlas said quietly.
Then he turned to Edrik, who stood nearby.
"Edrik," he said firmly, "try to subdue Raze, without causing fatal injuries."
Edrik gave a sharp nod, immediately stepping forward.
"Me too?" Morganna asked lazily, not even glancing at him.
"No. You’re staying here," Atlas replied flatly.
"What about me, My Lord?" Mira chimed in cheerfully at his side.
Atlas turned to find her beaming up at him, all innocence and mischief.
"No. You stay here too!" he snapped.
Mira just giggled, unfazed. "As you command~"
